So my question to Deej and the think tank at Bungie is this; what was the point of me spending time grinding daily missions, tiger strikes, nightfall strikes, public events, buying vanguard equipment to break down, farming materials, doing bounty after bounty, and doing the raid? I wasted time, yes wasted, getting all the exotic guns and gear fully upgraded now just to have to reset all the progression. I know it's not mandatory, but if I want to keep playing and be a viable asset to a team, I will HAVE to do it. This is not a way to keep player invested. Call me a "meg" or whatever, but I think that there should be a different option for current players to level up the guns and gear. I am upset at this decision. Deej, you and your "team" listen to all the players yelling about nerf this, nerf that, and you take away all the little exploits that people use, listen to the community on this one. Figure out a different way for this.
TL;DR: I'm mad bro.

19 AntwortenZero point. Might as well have purchased the game 9 months after realease to start at a level playing field....
-
There is nothing to figure out, simply add 3 slots to the end of the existing tree and require another exotic shard to max it out. Easy Peasy! Don't think they will do it though.
-
2 AntwortenThey give us the option to make our most powerful guns even stronger and you wine, you're childish.
-
The point is the same as with every video game. Kill time until your girl gets home and you can play with something else.

36 AntwortenPeople need to stop over reacting like this, seriously Jesus Christ. If you really put so much time into this game, if you really enjoy it, then why in the hell is it such a big issue that you can choose an OPTIONAL UPGRADE to make whatever weapon you choose STRONGER? New light levels mean new armor requirements. New high level enemies means you'll need stronger weapons. Stop with the soap operas all over this forum throwing your hands in the air saying "oh! Woe is me! All these hours slaving away pouring my heart and burning soul into this game has been a venture for nothing! Alas, I am but a mere speck in Bungie's dust!" Come on people.

This provides a solution to the problem

The point is to keep the salmon swimming upstream. Sounds cynical, but it's true. Of course it's in their interest to keep the swim fun so that the salmon participate willingly, so... let's see where it all ends up.

3 Antwortenas I see it the exotic gun u have maxed to 300 will be upgradable to 400 or whatever they decide but to get it to 400 u have to reset it still keeping it at 300 but now allows u to get it to 400.. whats the problem in that >

I feel like in two weeks no one will be upset.

6 AntwortenMy question is why did you upgrade everything? I use, on average maybe 3 exotics total. I've gotten loads of them, but only three get used. Helm of Saint 14, Ice Breaker and Hawkmoon. I would say no backup plan as well, but I've recently retired them. So everything else just sits there. Why would you need every exotic you've gotten maxed?

1 AntwortenI don't know about you, but I play because it's fun. That's the point.

4 AntwortenIn MMO type games, you level your Avatar to be able to get better items. When an expansion comes out, you level yourself up(using time and materials), you raid(using time and materials, and 20-30 people) to get the item you want and then you simply destroy the old item. Here you are given an option to upgrade an item you already have, rather than destroy it. You grind to get the item to where it is(originally), and again to get it back up on the new item. It's the same as going from level 50 to level 60, and then getting level 60 items. You had to work to get those level 50 items, and now you have to work to get those level 60 items. In Destiny it's not so drastic. You don't have to go out and "Get" new items, or grind new levels to get it...you already have it. You just need to put in a little time to upgrade it to the standard of the new weapons of the expansion....and you don't even have to do that if you don't want to. Plus; people who did not buy the DLC would be stuck with weaker weapons, and be left behind by the people that did buy the DLC.. Here, whether you choose to buy the expansion or not, you can upgrade to DLC level weapons.

So don't use them. ..get the new exotics. ...the new stuff is higher level content. ...they have you a way too keep your lower level shit relevant and you bitch about it. ....grow up man
-
I see it like this. There will be higher level enemies which will need stronger armor/weapons to survive/kill. SO. You will either be upgrading a NEW exotic to be able to handle the upcoming harder difficulty, or upgrading the ones that you already know and love. For example: I'm sure most will be happy that they can keep there helm of saint (whatever it's called) or heart of praxic fire for those perks since we probably won't see them on any other exotics

Time where you've had fun is not wasted time.

Bearbeitet von OZ: 12/4/2014 1:15:57 PMI know I'm gonna piss people off with this but having to please everyone in PvP has really hurt this game PvP should have been a cool side note maybe even super nerfed and balanced with load outs like halo back in the day could have been skill based and highly competitive then hey a social playlist for the causal folk see this fixes all the nerfs and buffs and well snap let's make ppl essentially re roll there gear to buy us more time to figure how the new damage and higher def will play out in PvP cuz kids are gonna cry trust me I guess in the end it just hurts to see the flip flopping and nerf it buff it change it back attitude this should be about teamwork beating the raid on hard nightfall for the first time not "man that gun is op in PvP they gotta fix that" any how two cents good game guardians

2 AntwortenYEAH! i was rocking full Vanguard gear. all maxed out. then Iron Banner happened. I stop using my Vanguard legs + arms. got an exotic helmet & chest. stop using my Vanguard helmet & chest. all that time and material wasted on gear I dismantled. the kicker: I have to grind to level up all my new gear. WTF?!?!?? [ :OI ][ #satire ][ #lifeishard ]

Bungie are trying to please everyone. They want the serious MMO players to be happy but they want the casual gamers looked after too. With the materials changers and the exotic exp reset upon upgrading; doesn't really bother me at all. I'm happy with the changes, I hated farming but enjoyed doing bounties and that and lvling weps. With all of the Eric rep grinding and bountys i'm sure we we'll lvl our weps back up soon.

The lesson to be learned is this: stop doing things in videogames that you don't enjoy.

17 AntwortenYou have the damn guns now. You want them to kill faster? Upgrade them. You don't? Well -blam!-ing don't. Jesus. It's like talking to a bunch of God damn doorknobs in here.
-
So..with the ability to reset my current raid gear and exotic chest...will I be able to hit 32?..or is new raid gear required?
-
I feel your pain but that's how new content in RPGs like this work
-
Why bungie ;(
-
I'm pretty sure that's how most expansions work. Usually you'd get new weapons that would make your current ones obsolete. Now you have the chance to keep them up to par at a cost. It's not that hard to level them.

5 AntwortenIf you're. A good guardian, you'll just upgrade it again in 3 days.
