You've lost your mind, Bungie.
You know, I really don't mind that upgrading existing exotics requires waiting for xur and an exotic shard. What I do mind is being required to level the entire weapon up again, losing all that xp, time, glimmer and all the old shards, energy and mats. The mats I just bought. All that. Useless. They update the system and then wait days to tell us to not use any of them just yet?
Way to go on failing your entire userbase in one fell swoop.

Yes, you've spent so much time and effort into making it great, but at the cost of a few more hours because they will no longer require buckets of AE/AS, wouldn't you want to have yourself a brand spanking new 323 exotic, and hey, why not have a fancy new ability, too? I've not fully upgraded my Sunbreakers for my warlock, I'm saving the last node for my exotic shard, unless I can get a nice exotic chest piece for my warlock and then tada, Sunbreakers become the exotic shard. Tbh. I don't think that players should have a problem playing through to make themselves better. It's a game for a reason, to be played! Everyone is always in a rush to be the best and get there as fast as possible. But why? To be bored of it? To have no goals? C'mon now, you guys are R-tards if you want to complete the game just to stop playing it. So you may have to scrap your progress on your super powerful exotic to get the updated damage you want from it, that's just how the cookie crumbles. If you would rather it be the best level 30 gun out there, by all means go for it. I however will be deeply anticipating the roll out for my Gjallahorn I just got from nightfall, and I think I may just do exactly what I said. Level it up, and do it again, because that's why I Love This Game! It's replayable! Even if the story is short and a bit hollow. I know I can design bigger and better things for my characters, I can play it for hours and hours and still be entertained. Who cares if I have to restart my progression, I was probably gonna do it when I completed everything anyway. So... NBD. I'm not saying it's a fantastic idea, but at least it's there. To be used, and tweaked, and tweaked some more. Besides, who knows; maybe doing this will make you love that gun/armor that much more. These items are more like babies to us. So wouldn't you do anything to make them grow up strong and resilient? Or does investing effort and time again hurt your trigger finger too bad? My god people, it's a game! Play it, or dont. 2 AntwortenI think its even funnier that deej acknowledged the community's outrage then told everybody to deal with it and get used to the new system. why can't bungie accept the fact that they've screwed up a lot of stuff in this game? bungie now believes they can do no wrong and it's resulted in the worst reviewed game they've ever made. if they were going to fix the new upgrade system (like everyone has asked them to) they would probably have to postpone the DLC (considering bungie is a bunch of money hungry bastards that would never happen) on the other hand, they could start working on updates while players are using the dark below. by the time the updates are finished everybody would be done playing the new content anyway. either way bungie would endure a shit storm for messing up the DLC, so instead they've decided to play it cool and not change anything. still reassuring themselves that they have a perfect system in place... since day 1 bungie has been pulling shit like this and I don't see them stopping anytime soon. anyone that still trusts bungie needs to go hide their wallet.

86 AntwortenWhat should happen is this: In order to upgrade to the highest Attack / Defense level, you go to Xur and pay 7 coins. Xur adds a 4th upgrade node That node requires 100-150k XP to unlock and then once it's unlocked you use materials and exotic shard to upgrade it That would save our progress, allowing the weapon / armor to be useful but still making it take time to upgrade that last slot. People don't like losing progress that they've spent many hours attaining and in my opinion this is a giant slap in the face. And I don't want to hear any bullshit about 'would you rather it be obsolete, that's what other MMOs do'. Well guess what, if Destiny had enough exotics in the DLC to cover the old ones, that'd be fine. The reality is, there aren't enough exotics in the game or coming in the DLC to replace what we have so that's not even a possibility.

If I understood correctly, we can only upgrade whatever exotics xur has available for upgrade that week, right? I can already see 3 more months of sunbreakers and voidfang's.

If it's true that the upgraded exotics start with a higher attack than they had maxed out before reset and that exotics will be quicker to level then I don't see it as much of an issue. Mats are much easier to get now so that's not much of a problem. Not so convinced on this Xur only material though, would have liked that to drop from something. Maybe the nightfall should grant one each week. Having to re-unlock nodes makes perfect sense. It means upgraded and new exotics will take as long and as many mats as each other, stopping upgrades having a time advantage on reaching cap (will matter for raid firsts and IB when it returns). You're converting your old gun in to a brand new drop of the same gun (I'm going to assume that the evolved forms are what now drop in game and from bounties) As for legendaries being replaced: that makes sense. We're levelling up again, when you level up you replace gear. The exotic upgrades are an exception for a special class of weapon. And finally: You didn't waste the time getting them you had fun playing the game, you can do so again now.
