2 AntwortenObviously they fight for god. Everyone knows that god hates Muslims, and wants the American military to occupy foreign countries, And consistently use drone strikes, and have the president bypass congressional voting and just unilaterally order all this himself, and digitally spy on every one in America workout a warrant to try and catch the terrorists, or communists, or witches, or whatever. All this because god said so. #duh JK -- I'm Atheist as shit.

8 AntwortenBeen in the army for 7 years. 4 years as an infantryman, 3 years as a corrections specialist. Nope, never once thought about god while doing my job...
-
About to go to basic for the army, will never think about God
-
I believe this is not exactly the thing that God wanted

87 AntwortenSoldiers are like the opposite of Christians. What are you going to do kill five people then nonchalantly read your bible?
-
So I'm fighting for God???

Are we trying to be the modern day Crusaders?

Shit the -blam!- up people in the military sacrifice so much, most of them didn't sign up to kill, they thought they were doing the right thing, fear of losing your life and seeing your friends die around you kinda makes you trigger happy. You have no clue

13 AntwortenBearbeitet von FergsHome: 11/29/2014 8:43:35 PMWe have a freedom OF religion, not a freedom FROM religion. Last I checked, the US government still has not passed any law establishing a single religion as the US religion. Advertising is a kind of free speech activity and they are exercising that in this add targeted towards those so inclined. Go by the base Chaplin's office and you will see stuff geared towards dang near all religions. And if you aren't inclined towards religious activities, you don't have any reason to go by there. Its easy. Our freedom of religion and speech are protected. But there is no freedom from having your feelings hurt or freedom from people disagreeing with you. Relax and enjoy the good old USA. In some countries, you would be executed for questioning the appropriateness of this sign. Edited for a typo.

31 AntwortenIn this country we have the freedom to whatever religion you prefer or none at all. Don't mistake that with never having to encounter religion because it russels your jimmies. As long as I have freedom I have the troops to thank.

Its a recruitment poster, what better way to make people join than to make them think their fighting for god? They tend to put those up in religious neighborhoods

4 AntwortenI assume your an atheist? Thats not an insult, if you are offended i apologize. But i am Christian and i think the reason US soldiers "fight for god" is because they are grateful. Its the same reason for all Christians, they love god and will fight for him. Hope this helped. Im a Christian and even i cant give a straight answer.

15 AntwortenLol. As an Agnostic, I always laugh when people get pissy about "God". Most Atheists just come off as jaded. Jerkness out of the way, I bet most people cannot even tell me where Separation of Church and State come from with out the help of Google. Plus in the legal sense, it is merely there to keep a theocracy from happening. Just like the 2ndA is to oppose Tyranny

3 AntwortenIf you have an issue with soldiers praying... THEN TELL THEM TO NOT BE SOLDIERS. Id like to see how it ends.

So what? To those who believe in God, it's a privilage. To those who don't, why would they care?
