So a few weeks back, I was doing strikes hoping for the last word because 2 or so weeks ago my friend got one in the nexus strike. So I was like, "imma do strikes non stop until im rewarded with an exotic." 2 weeks later i started that strike spamming. After about 6 or so days of strike spamming i actually got the last word! I was super happy of course, but if I spent 6 days spamming strike lists, does that qualify as an "earned" exotic if i tried to get it the whole time? I certainly think it does.

There's no such thing as an "unearned" exotic. Either you EARN it from RNG drops on strikes or games, or you EARN strange coins to buy it from Xur. You're always EARNING it. You just need a little luck, either from a random lucky drop, or Xur having a lucky inventory. Congrats on your Last Word :)

I just watched my buddy get the last word as a reward after beating the vault of glass on hard last night... and this morning I bought it for 23 strange coins.
-
I got it today on the nightfall.

I bought one from Xür then I did a tiger strike and got rewarded with it and was extremely mad

Couldn't resist. :)

67% of people who voted on this poll are mature people who are actually positive for the most part, thank you 67%! I know I earned my last word, not bought it like a lucky prick, GOML

5 AntwortenHow about you just enjoy your new weapon and stop giving a shit what others think

Everything on here is earned... Coins are earned same as drops so buying from xur is earning too.... Just in a different way, you can't spend so much time collecting and grinding and fighting and not earn what you get. Congrats on the last word btw, it's amazing

The whole concept around the way people treat the word 'earned' is simply amusing. You 'earn' a weapon by doing something to attain it. You don't log onto destiny and go to the tower to find a bunch of engrams randomly put in there, you had to do something to get those engrams like a strike or killing an enemy. Same with guns, you have to do something to earn them but there are different ways to earn them. Some are faster than others and people don't seem to understand that concept. That's like (hypothetical) you buy a legendary weapon from a vendor using a 100,000 glimmer or you use marks to buy it or coins. Is one way 'earning' and the other way 'not earned'. The entire concept is stupidly simple, choose a fast way to get the weapon makes sense, you could use a longer more painful way to attain said weapon but that's is just another option to get a weapon. No one way is the 'right' way to earn a weapon but too many people make that ludicrous assumption.

You got it by RNG if it was a guaranteed reward you earned it but still great job man :D

The "Truth" is a lie! When people found out it's secret it became a sniper rifle and is now called the "Broken Truth"

Bearbeitet von Un1337ninj4: 11/21/2014 4:39:20 AMTwo weeks, people don't seem to account for how efficient Strange Coins are to farm when compared to marks. Using marks you only get a weapon every two weeks. Strange Coins however have nine right off the bat, and on your way to earning the weekly Vanguard marks doing Tigers and Blues from Patrols you get all of your Strange Coins from blues across the week. This game is all about time investment and luck, you earned that Last Word. Xur is earning but his wares are cheaper than the 150 marks you spend on a weapon. That said, congrats on your pull!

Not sure if it's earned but you definitely worked for it.

Who cares! Nice though.

You and a friend walked down a road that went across town. Halfway across a random stranger gave your friend a $100. Did your friend earn the $100? You decide you would like $100 so you walk up and down the street non stop for a week but you never get the $100. Why haven't you earned your $100 yet?

I say, now you own Last Word, period.
