EDIT: Moving the bottom edit to the top because apparently people aren't reading the whole post before replying.
EDIT: This is an old topic that got bumped for some reason. This was originally posted back in November and a lot has been revealed since then that I no longer think this theory has any weight whatsoever.
I have read pretty much all of the major threads and theories. I will say that I do believe there is something that we have yet to find inside the Vault of Glass. It may be that it hasn't even been patched in yet, or just that it is so cleverly hidden like a certain skull from the past.
So one avenue is the Grimoire cards. At worst, we have some pretty cool lore surrounding the Vault of Glass that may or may not have a hidden message. If it does, I think this one is continually misunderstood:
"No one can open the Vault alone. I opened the Vault. There was no one with me but I was not alone."
A lot of people interpret this to mean the beginning phase where you have to defend three sync plates. I have heard a lot of interesting theories about how to do this part alone. But this part, you are not opening the Vault of Glass, just the way to it.
The Vault of Glass is the final room of the raid. Atheon's room. The raid might be called that, but when Kabr is mentioning opening the Vault, this has to be what he means. Further, you definitely cannot open this alone. You have to wait until your entire raid is in front of the door to open it.
So, with that said, what if there was a way to open this alone while your raid was somewhere else? What if the other 5 people go the alternate route to the inactive portal and wait there while one person goes and stands in front of the door? What if there are other things for the other members to be doing before someone attempts to open the door alone?
The Vault of Glass is sealed until you open it. So perhaps, if you were to do something to trigger some other special events, when it opens, it would be a different time period and you would enter into the past and be able to save Kabr?
Curious what you all think?

22 AntwortenSo here is what we do know. Not letting a pretorian control a sync plate in the opening part does make lights change to blue around the first chest. Anytime something changes like that based on a certain trigger I have to assume it's for a reason... More so when Bungie is involved. What I would like to check next is if everyone takes the secret path under that chest is there another trigger activated? I know it makes a strange sound when I go but I can never convince the whole group to take that path and see if there's more to it. After that all I have is speculation. On normal mode there are 8 gorgons, correct? I haven't confirmed this but I've read every VOG theory post and that seems to be a common thought. Also I have heard that getting gorgon's gaze adds a :05 penalty to your attempt length.. Except one particular gorgon which adds :07 If that is true (and again I haven't seen this myself) then it would only make sense to kill the different gorgon. Since Bungie loves the number 7 so much, that would be killing the one identified by the number 7 and also leaving 7 normal ones. After that check the hole in the wall in the secret path during the jump puzzle and see what we have (that has to be a chest spawn unless Bungie just wants me to rip my hair out in frustration over nothing) Maybe there are multiple triggers to making that chest spawn and you've got to do it right from the beginning? If anyone has seen any other triggers that changed something that seemed insignificant in the raid please share so we can work it out together. Also regarding the grimore discussion, once you make it out of the maze and to the jumping puzzle that's the first time you're HUD displays that you're actually in the Vault of Glass. Just thought I would clear that up.

4 AntwortenThere is a pathway underneath where the green mist abyss is in the area before the templar as you just entered the door. Its on youtube, only reachable as a titan. It is a whole different path towards the templars well. You need to fall in the green abyss and time your jump right

1 Antworten"No one can open the Vault alone. I opened the Vault. There was no one with me but I was not alone." - Refers to Kabr going in with 5 others, then their existence was erased (Lost in the dark corners of time), so theoretically once they are erased from reality, they are also erased from his memory"

17 AntwortenHere's my theory about the gorgons. I was in the iron banner this morning and I was looking at a titans exotic helmet. I've heard it has a blinding perk for the bubble and it looks exactly like something from Greek mythology soooo... my theory is that we have to trap these gorgons(monsters) by setting a blinding bubble up and be seen at the exact moment it goes in the bubble or Set the blinding bubble up around the group before beeing seen. Also if this does not work then there's always shooting them to shit with the corrective measure. In Greek mythology the labyrinth could lead to riches beyond belief but it was filled with monsters. Maybe to access the riches we must kill all the monsters in a particular way.

We need to do something, so someone else can do something and then something else will happen and we will go somewhere to find some guy named Kabr, then he will do something to someone and we will open a chest and get Ascendent energy. Too much guessing. But that energy...so worth.

8 AntwortenHas anybody killed all the Gorgons?

I find it odd that the vault door reopens after you defend the mid conflux at the end of the gatekeeper event. Should we be exiting and going to the portal outside? I'd love to go in and try new things with a dedicated team.

4 AntwortenPortals in glass throne room transfer in past or future, but actualy in same place (glass throne). Maybe we should try to go in portal outside glass throne in different time ? (I mean go to past portal (someone call it mars) and then go to outside room)

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Baalwulf06: 12/30/2014 2:08:07 AMKabyr had a whole fireteam with him but they were unmade by the Templar. So he wasn't alone because they did at one point in time exist, but he was alone because the Templar erased them as if they never existed so thus he was alone. Kabyr = certified badass. Did i mention he also defeated a Gorgon by convincing it that it didn't exist? Should probably mention that too #titanmasterclass

1 Antwortenthe secret is in the last sentence of Crota's grimoire card.
-
Kabr says that because his fireteam was erased from time

im sure somebody has already tried this.... but has a team of six have done the raid with just Raid gear( full Vex)? or at least one person with it to try to open the portal right outside the vault ( atheons vault)

11 AntwortenThere is another level to the Raid that won't be unlocked until after the DLC comes out, a "very hard" mode like every other activity you can select difficulty on. The reason Bungie said nobody has experienced everything is just because of that, and currently, nobody CAN experience everything. Raid probably requires a bare minimum of lvl 31 or 32 to play. Makes sense, and gives people of higher levels reason to return to the Vault later.

2 AntwortenThe sync plates open the vault. Atheon's room is called the glass throne.
-
The surprise is that they can just increase the enemy level, increase the stats of the items dropped and voila! More content! I for one and very hopeful to have a new reason to keep playing that raid, so much fun and a good challenge!

Bump. The search continues. Reply to poster to encourage him to keep working.

20 AntwortenAll you have to do is once you kill the templar, send one person to the top of the two towers in front of the templar stage, then once he or she is up there it will say VEX GATE HAS OPENED then rapidly proceed down to the gorgon maze without getting caught and proceed to the puzzle area, now since this is a time trial if you dont get down to the bottom fast enough it will say VEX GATE HAS CLOSED. Now another thing that happened is that we stumbled upon this by accident and so we tried to recreate it but when we did it said ATHEON is enraged this time.
I wasnt going to tell anyone but there is no point in keeping it a secret I will be posting a video soon once the week resets.
6 Antworteni think the most hidden secret to the raid is why the hell bungie didnt include any cyclopses in it,you find three cyclopses guarding passages throughout the Story yet the most important vex Fort doesnt have a single specimen of that?something smells fishy and its not my last meal

10 AntwortenBearbeitet von PapaCap: 2/2/2015 5:05:42 AM
No one can open the Vault alone. I opened the Vault. There was no one with me but I opened the Vault.
Regarding this quote, I believe he was with multiple versions of himself from different points in time. I also don't believe he made it pass the Templar, because in his last moments he fashioned the relic from the "thinking flesh" of the Vex and imbued it with his Light. By doing this he says the Vault is weakened, and it knows it, and if a team of Guardians can brave the Vault, then with the relic it can be destroyed. Also, you don't have to do anything to enter Atheon's chamber, so I wouldn't imagine that being the Vault itself.
-
2 AntwortenI interpret it as since the oracles erase you from time, they moved forward and were erased so they no longer exist. Also Kabr never made it to Atheon he snuck past the Templar and punched a gorgon to death where he crafted the relic shield and poured his light into it.
-
3 AntwortenKabr had a fireteam, but since they were erased from existence causing everyone to no longer remember them. Simple.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Double Zeus: 12/7/2014 10:34:01 PMThis might be a description of what Kabr achieved, in which 'He fought the Vex alone, but somehow did not kill him' taken from the desc. of a Titan Raid piece of armor. It also says in another Titan Raid armor that he was claimed by the Vault of Glass and all that remains is his gear. What if, Atheon IS Kabr? There have been theories trying to prove Atheon a good guy because his name literally connects to Atheist meaning he doesn't worship that Heart that the normal Vex would. Kabr could be controlling Atheon as well. Why would Atheon give the pieces of armor that let us reach Max light? And in logical terms, why is there duplicates of Kabr's gear? He has done this all for us. This is Kabr trying to help us for what lurks in the Dark Below......

2 AntwortenThe most practical theory is that the vault doesn't end because they are going to make an extension in a upcoming dlc.
