That's crazy ppl are constantly saying becuz I have a female character I'm gay...WTF...last time I checked I had free will to choose what I wanted regardless of my sexual orientation...and besides it's not like this game has ANY type of relationship or sex in it so y does it matter unless u play video games t hook up, and if so there's TONS of online sites for that....my metroid I.inspired female Warlock can still kick THEE ass of any foe that approaches, can handle any weapon, and can squeeze into small places becuz of her stature...Grow Up! .#HappyGaming ppl
Update: @ScribeTheMad has explained it Very well indeed. So if anyone else is also looking for an answer to this ridiculous mindset check out his comment. Thanks again..
#HappyGaming folks!
See, it largely comes down, I think, to a difference of perspective.
You create a character that is separate from yourself and then control that character, sort of like a third person novel writer.
And as such you see nothing strange about controlling a character that is different (race, gender, species)
They on the other hand create, in essence, themselves (or the themselves they'd like to be) in the game. This is me, *I* am running around killing things. More like a first person novel writer.
(A friend of mine would call this the male power fantasy character, representing the ultra manly person they wish they were.)
I've had people comment that anyone who plays any race/gender/species but exactly what they are is a freak/furry/etc.
And then they see you create a female character, and looking through the lens of their own mind, see that as you creating a female character *as an avatar of you* in the game, and think, why would a guy want to roleplay as a woman? They are a guy, why would they want *themselves* in the game to be women? From this perspective it makes sense to reach the conclusion that such people wish they "were" women, or want to be attractive to men, etc, etc.
The problem is that people assume everyone thinks the way they do, so therefore their logical conclusion is the only possible explanation.
Plus some people are just jerks anyway.
It's the difference between saying "Look at my character, he/she is awesome", and "Look at me, I'm awesome"
I've talked to a lot of people about this and they usually fall into one camp or the other, usually without consciously thinking about it, and neither camp is actually "wrong", it's just that the difference causes a lot of grief
I make female characters do I don't have to listen to male orgasms every time my character takes damage and needs to regenerate health.
-
i have a "look at me I'm awesome" first kind of perspective but it doesn't stop me from thinking outside of the box and understand that others want to make a character separate from their personality

1 AntwortenFrom the posts I've read, most guys that make female characters seem to be men who are all about dat ass. I like boobs so if I made a female character I'd have to run around backwards. ha ha. ( . Y . )

yeah I hate that too. I play as a female because I want to and I can. That's it. That's the only reason. I'm not a girl in real life.(so don't you hit on me silly boys lol...) I'm not gay. I'm not confused about my sexual orientation. I not trying to support "strong independent female video game characters because women are oppressed and if a guy looks at a female or says hi, hes trying to -blam!- her" or whatever silly shit feminists believe.
-
Am I the only one who made a female character because the dudes* all look emo and/or fugly? *'Cept Exos. They're just badass.

1 Antwortenall of my characters are females and generally when playing a game that lets you chose a gender i normally pick females whether its a console game or any of the many mmos i play on the pc (and when the option came up during all 3 of my playthroughs i picked liara over romancing any of the males in me2). i dont give a damn what anyones opinion is i prefer looking at a sexy female that a mobile sausage holster.
-
Main hunter exo male. Alt titan human female, alt lock female exo. I chose those combos because I'm male and all my mains are also. I chose females for the others simply because I think female locks and titans are fairly rare, I don't see em often.

In PVP games its better to play as a girl.. the volume of the girl model is often smaller and that gives you a slight advantage since you are a smaller target for your enemies to hit.. I prefer playing a male but sometimes end up making girls, I have male hunter human and titan male exo and female awoken warlock.

6 AntwortenBearbeitet von SnowEmber: 11/11/2014 12:38:20 AMI play a female character in all games possible because IO don't want to stare at a male avatar's ass all day. From that perspective, those who play male characters and enjoy staring at a male avatar all day are.... never mind.. I wont go there. Bottom line is that it is a flawed argument that can go both ways. Your character's gender reflect nothing about you.

1 Antworten"i bet you kiss girls fagot" But seriously, who cares if they can't dig it. I'm also a dude playing as a lady, you don't need to justify yourself and you don't need to let some jokers get to you because they're <insert reason here>. So long as you're not catfishing, just keep on keeping on.

Bearbeitet von Chuci Browne: 11/11/2014 12:37:51 AMI normally make male characters, but I decided to make a female hunter (seemed like a good fit for a hunter). I didn't want to spend so many hours staring at a dude running around.

Idk but you're not being yourself??? Maybe

Bearbeitet von slopat: 11/10/2014 11:59:11 PMIf "people" you play with keep saying that, change the group of "people" you play with. Scribethemad indeed has a great explanation for this attitude. In other words, people looking to give their lives worth through a video game because they feel otherwise worhless are perplexed and threatened by a guy playing a girl character. They consequently react in an aggressive fashion.
-
Well I got a female guardian because I already have two males.
-
I made a female character because I wanted her to look like my girl. anyhow, I rather look at a female running/jumping around my screen better than the typical male character.
-
Slap yourself, if i had known we couldn't change body compositions i would've made a girl too. A hunter is quick and agile, the female build is perfect. Well done.
-
Bleh. I like chick toons cuz the developers usually give them larger than life tatas and azz es to die for. Who wouldn't want to look at that while playing a game?

1 AntwortenConstantly rubbing your crotch on dudes dead bodies = Not gay, but hilarious. Creating a Female Character and vagina grinding on dead bodies = GAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY and STUPID AND WHY ARE YOU PLAYING A GIRL>> EWWWW.. That sounds about right.

2 AntwortenTrue story here. My little brother always played female characters. I'd always ask Him why and he would say " because you get to stare at their asses all day long ". ( 3rd person game) id laugh n not think of it. Few years later he came out of the closet and is an out going homo.
