Why the PVP?
So, after the initial excitement of receiving my first exotic bounty, my disappointment can not be measured. See, i don't care for Destiny's PVP. Love the game, hate the PVP. When I reached the point in the bounty where I realized that I had to accumulate 500 points in PVP with void weapons I hit the square button and held it down until the bounty was gone.
Why can't there be a pve option in these exotic bounties? Is it asking too much for an either/or option with these bounty tasks? Surely, this would make the bounties more palatable for all.

4 AntwortenSimple answer (not sarcastic or flame) If you only play half the game why do you feel like you should have access to all the weapons? Seriously just post a logical answer to that. If it makes sense I will say no more.

Dude it's not even hard to do......i barely break even in pvp and I got it done in a couple hours Well worth the thorn especially after they give it more ammo (i hope)

They already said they weren't changing this, if people want the exotics you have to do the work Dark below is Adding more bounties, which will also have PVP sides, if you dont like it then stick to getting your exotics from Xur or RNGesus

Agreed. After all that talk about "play the way you want to" it's annoying that you're forced into PVE to complete some bounties and forced to play the raid to reach level 30. Hopefully they get it sorted quickly.

I hear a lot of people having issue with this bounty. I would suggest people do a little research before taken on a exotic bounty. If the bounty has a part that you don't want or fill you can't do then don't accept it.

1 AntwortenI knocked out A Light in the Dark in a weekend a few weeks ago. You can check my K/D ratio for Crucible and see that I am not that good at it. 500pts with void? Grab a void fusion and void heavy, play control and start racking up kills. I actually enjoyed it, although it was extremely stressful with that -2 penalty-I got it in probably less than 10 games of control. The PvE strike at the end of the bounty is actually harder than the PvP part. So pretty much you're saying you were met with a challenge, and chose to give up instead of even trying. Thorn is the hardest bounty in the game. If you're a good player, you'll be able to finish the crucible parts of the bounty, even though it may not be the way you normally play. Personaly, I'm glad the exotic bounties mix the PvE and PvP modes, I wouldn't play PvP otherwise.

4 AntwortenI think they've heard feedback on this and mentioned they would add more pve focused bounties at some point. Check the previous weekly updates. I got the same bounty, and I actually like the crucible. Its got some flaws but it's fun. I hate the fact of needing void damage. I love shooting with a hand cannon....even though I got atheons epilogue....I just refuse to use ARs In this game for crucible . I wish weapons had elemental sockets. Idk why the devs didn't ever think of this. I guess it makes the game to easy perhaps. Idk. You could sit back and snipe with a void sniper in control or shotgun void on control. Controls the easiest crucible mode, which is why it's the first you unlock as well. Next time, try that out first. Just give it a shot before you throw in the towel. The enemies are going to be running to predictable spots the entire match anyways.

6 AntwortenA skilled player should be able to be put in any circumstance and succeed, if not you should not receive the weapon therefore you are not good enough for it. Btw I have all the bounties complete except the one which releases on the expansion pack.

Agreed, there should be an option to do the bounty in either PvP OR PvE. I only do the bounty for the super good advice, 1 strange coin for 3 ascendant energy is not bad. Not in the mood to save 10 rare fusion rifles again for the pocket infinity.

2 AntwortenI have 2 bounties atm that require pvp. I'm old and so very very slow. Very hard to compete with players half my age. I'm going to give a go, but not having high hopes on completing those :)

It's not even hard. Would take you about an hour with a void fusion rifle.

2 AntwortenIf only there was a way to know before you excepted the bounty you'd need to go to the crucible.... In all honesty the bounties are pretty easy for the crucible part. It's just another grind.

14 AntwortenThe only one I know of that's just pve is the bounty for super good advice. But I have the same problem and was thinking of putting together an exotic bounty help post for those of us that need it basically you would put what bounties you have where you are on them and your psn or Xbox live and which console your on. The reason I say this is I heard a rumor that you can take a six person fire team into rumble a while back and if everyone's goal is the same than it would be funer to do as long as once some one gets their bounties done they don't leave and help out the rest of the group as target practice

9 AntwortenThe Exotic bounties were designed to be a challenge that incorporated all aspects of the game. This is the billionth "PvE rules, PvP drools, I don't wanna do PvP for ten minutes" post that's popped up since launch. It's not going to happen. Get over yourself.

Exotic bounties are made to be difficult. I will admit that would be a nice option but the last part of thorn bounty was the hardest

Here's an even better question. Why the PvE? There are people who play the Crucible exclusively and avoid PvE. The bounty isn't hard at all it's extremely forgiving and only requires that you get 1 kill for every 2 deaths in order to progress. Better k/ds will progress it faster. Die 5 times in a row? Just get two kills, now you're even.
