I have spent the day today reading and watching videos about the grand plans for Destiny that were destroyed in the last year of development. The loss of Bungie's lead writer seems to be the cause of the problems, and the reasons for his leaving still remain vague at best. I just feel like there is some greater power here that made this all happen. Both the firing of Martin O'Donell and the departure of the lead writer makes me think that there was a certain reason these two were not willing to see the project through to the end. But what was it? Activision? Poor teamwork by Bungie? An attempt to maximize profits?? I really don't care. What I do care about is how we as gamers can save all of the precious work that was supposedly put on the back burner or pushed back for release later. Bungie needs to understand that we need that content NOW and not later. If they don't put that kind of content back into the game, people are going to stop playing the game because they are bored or because they want to prove a point. But to quit supporting the game would mean that the funds for the future of Destiny would stop from both the producers and the consumers. And I cant let that happen. Destiny was to be so much more than it is, and to know that there are the makings of a masterpiece just sitting waiting to be destroyed or released way too late is something that is going to make it hard to sleep. Just reading the Grimoire cards points to the fact that there were 1000x more narrative elements planned for this universe. So what do we do you guys? Do we complain more? Do we start a petition? Do we storm Bungie's headquarters? Please lets talk about this, because I don't want to see the world of Destiny be destroyed before it is actually seen through.
