If none, comment below.
It's been only 2 months and I've seen my friends on Destiny log in less and less. Just wanted to see what everyone else thinks.
Edit: seems like the majority feels the game is too repetitive... I feel like this is tied to the lack of content. A lot of people have also commented about that.
Lack of content = feels more repetitive
Tons of content = repetitive but feels less repetitive
Bungie!!! Get more content out asap. Also dark below probably needs more because the main game hit a wall after 2 months. 2 levels will hit a wall in 2 weeks...

Im going to go with "Natural User Base Decay"

Everyone has their limit of boredom. I like destiny a lot and had high hopes for it but with a lvl 29 hunter, 28 titan, and 25 warlock all i have left to do is rng the raid for raid gear. Before i could do that I've unfortunately finally hit my boredom wall and cant play anymore. Im hoping they fix this game cuz its on a terrible path.

all the cry hards are leaving for other games...thank RNGesus. was starting to drown in the tears.....u can only drink in so many.

The friends of mine who have stopped logging in have all hit level 30 and have nothing left to do except Nightfall and the occasional raid until we all get the last few things we need/want. Most of us only need one or two more raid weapons, or the Vex Mythoclast. In my case, Atheon's Epilogue is the only raid weapon I still don't have. After that, we are just waiting for the expansion. We would try to get new characters to level 30 but that basically means doing the same 10 hours of gameplay over and over and over...

I know my friendslist and friends in real life is a very small size (I mean VERY small) of the entire community, but nobody is playing the game now that I know. The last two weeks I had to solo nightfall and weeklies (not that its something I won't do but its more fun with friends). I myself have not logged on since monday and logging on less and less. I don't think this is an indicator this game is and will be crap, most people have just ran out of things to do, but most of all, this game has a pretty poor lasting ability. Games can be repetitive, but the artificial method to lengthen the game in Destiny is a bit lackluster. There are many ways to make a game repetitive and addictive, but Destiny is not bad at it, but not good at it either. The state of destiny seems pretty normal to me in that sense. It will probably increase a bit once DLC comes out.

I think it's this shite community. Once people hit lvl 28 they have less incentive to find people to play with when the community is filled with loud children and opinionated adults who just want to hear their own voice.
-
Nature. Every game sees a decrease in population from launch and on. Launch is the highest the population will ever be. Populations dwindle as new games come out or people wrap up what they want to do in the game and return to others. You'll probably see a bump around Christmas, then it'll drop again.
-
People get burnt out, Destiny gives you a ton of stuff to do although it's all extremely repetitive. At some point, it has no interest. I'm sure tons of people will flock back when the Expansion comes.
-
They all went off to play something that doesn't suck. Sometimes they come back just to screw with the community though
-
Those random disconnects and the damn bugs in several encounters.

1 AntwortenI'd say the decline is right on par if not less than what one would expect from any video game. Any COD or Halo or Quest Based game will see a decline after 2 months of being on the market. My feeling is that despite the repetitive nature of the game, people will be back for the new Raid, at least I know that the people I play with, myself included, are quite anxious to try the next raid. And a note about the repetitiveness of the game, it doesn't really get repetitive until pouring many, many hours into the game, probably many more than other games. For reference, once you complete the COD: AW campaign, a feat that can be done in a single afternoon, there's minimal chance that you'll revisit that. There is a chance that you'll play the multiplayer for a while, but the cumulative time will probably not exceed that which you'd put into Destiny. In any case, my answer is "none of the above", the decline is more likely due to what I'll call: "natural causes".

9 AntwortenThe bad people in the community is whats causing it to decrease is my personally opinion. All I see on these forums is whine whine whine. And its more than likely putting a lot of people off. To the 1226 people who said the issue is that the game is repetitive are idiots. People say this game is repetitive and that its a negative, yet you can say the exact same thing about a game like cod were you do the same thing over and over again also. You grind multiplayer matches, level to 50, prestige, and then do it all over again. But somehow thats okay and considered fun and Destiny's repetitiveness (Killing aliens, leveling gear, multiplayer matches) isn't? I think another part of the issue, is that people were expecting Destiny to be something it was never going to be. I think a lot of people expecting the game to be another revolutionizing fps game like Halo: Combat Evolved was. But Destiny isn't, nor do I think it was intended to be.

1 Antworteni believe it is lack of content. While I still og on everyday, i am finding it harder and harder to want to every day.
-
1 AntwortenMake dlc don't just unlock content on the disc aka stop making destiny sequel
-
This game is repetitive. I play the same missions over and over each day for a random reward. I'm leaving the second DA:I drops.
-
2 AntwortenI also blame Activision... The destroyer of games and gaming companies...
-
4 AntwortenI find it funny when people say things like "this game is so repetitive and grindy, once AC: unity comes out I'm so gonna play that". Isn't assassins creed like the king of all kings when it comes down to repetitiveness?
-
The destiny community? We are the 4chan of video games. We are horrible, unhelpful, disrespectful and... Stuff. Honestly I think a lot of people come here to Complain and say they quit but they know damn well they didn't and go right back to the grind. Even with all its flaws somehow the game draws you in.
-
3 AntwortenI haven't noticed a decline. One of my friends stopped playing because of borderlands, but will be back for the dlc. When I log in, I still see tons of guardians in the tower & on patrol, so I don't know where your information is coming from, aside from your personal circle of friends, which isn't a worldwide trend.

It's more RNG than anything else. U pound out a mission or raid and blam nothing but shards. I have 300 friends and this morning only 9 was playing destiny. At night lucky to hit 30 destiny players.

Bad rng unfair rng

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von splattherpunk: 11/5/2014 6:49:21 PMHmm, I was about to give up on Destiny. The repetitive grind of doing public events for shards and the same strikes. Kind of sick of pvp at the moment. Then, I finally decided to try a raid. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. You know what? It was pretty fun and has reinvigorated the game for me. It's actually kind of ironic. My friend talked me into doing a raid. So, being the fool I am I agreed and rounded up some people on the forums. Just as we were about to start the raid his place of employment called him in for color changes. So he missed out on the entire raid. Poor guy has limited time. We thought it would take like six hours. The nice part is with a decent group you can get it done in about an hour or so. It's not that bad. I'm sure some people have even done it quicker. Without all the youtube videos and people who have done it before. Ya, that would take quite a long time. Thanks to the internet it's not all that bad. See, the internet is good for something after all.

2 AntwortenYou guys really want to know what is going to make the Destiny community die? Do you really want to know? I'm not sure you are ready to hear this, but I'll say it anyways, so be careful. . . . . . . .
This community will kill Destiny.
Osama been hackin!
-
18 AntwortenWhat proof do you have that's it's decreasing? Your friends don't log on as much? Hardly a wide enough test pool to make big claims like that. And really? "Get more content out asap." Imagine you work at Pizza Hut and for every single piece of topping you put on a pizza someone shouts out you "Another order incoming!" Game design isn't freaking magic, they can't just make things happen at the drop of a hat.
-
2 AntwortenNeeds more pve events or content. If they did cut content, they should just finish em up. Then release them as patches instead of dlc..expamd pve and I guarantee theyll have more interest in their game. Plus itll help them buy more time to better dlc content.
