Why does Golden Gun suck (PvE)
I can do just as much damage, if not more, using a sniper. Throw in the fact that Xur sells icebreaker, and even the solar damage of golden gun is entirely useless. I personally think it needs a damage buff to make it useful against bosses, majors, and ultras. At least let it do critical hits.

The exploding option helps in PvE but it's still poor.

Only place its good is for killing the oracles but you cant even have a team of hunters go thru the portal everytime now. thanks Bungie. PvP it destroys all

It seems really effective against oracles in hardmode!!!

Bearbeitet von MuriloBFS: 11/3/2014 11:24:56 PMI used to think exactly the same thing while I was leveling up my hunter doing the story missions. Switching to the Blade Dancer did wonders to me. Then I started playing some end game content, lvl 28 heroic strikes, nightfall strikes, the raid... Game modes that the enemies will one/two shot you with their melee or elemental burn. I switched back to the Gunslinger and never looked back. Got a symbiote helm, and since then PVE has been much easier. GG it's pretty versatille when fully upgraded. 4 Shots with the symbiote helm + combustion can either tear through mobs of enemies at long range (something you can't do with any other super) or deal a burst to a boss without consuming your special/heavy ammo. If you're fighting a boss where you can't be constantly moving (Nexus Mind for example) it helps a lot. I still preffer Blade Dancer for pvp, though. Now that I think of it, I believe that the only two supers I'm using for something other than clearing trash mobs are GG and Radiance. With that being said, I would not complain about being able to crit with golden gun.

1 AntwortenGet the gear that has the extra bullet for golden gun, throw on penetration and exploding rounds is it's hard to get anything less than 6 orbs of light per super. If you're expecting golden gun to do like 10k damage per bullet, it's not going to happen.

2 AntwortenIt REALLLLLY doesn't suck. It's just crowd control. Penetration + exploding rounds + mobs = clearing out mobs and generating orbs for group. It doesn't do much damage against bosses but that isn't its design.

I'm consistently towards the top/most useful of game I play using my Hunter. Obviously there are exceptions, but its not much different than others from my experience. And I also see a lot of effective Hunters throughout the game, PvP or PvE. Are people mad that they can't cheese the raid bosses off the edges? Or perhaps that it takes a bit more skill to be an effective Hunter? Or that they don't have large spatial attacks and instead rely on being more of a rogue? Curious... thoughts?

3 AntwortenEvery super is usefull. Some are op in certain times and some are not. It is usually the USER that is lacking skill when using a super. GG is extremely usefull in pve and in raid.

1 AntwortenI agree. At the least be able to kill majors & ultras in one shot to the head, was disappointed when I found out you have to use more than 1 shot to kill them. I know some may disagree & think that would be to much. But hunters could be a bigger support in pve if this was done. I like hunter alot but they are the least useful in pve imo when it comes to supers

2 AntwortenSupers are meant for bosses. If you shoot Golden Gun at a boss, you're doing it wrong. Pick up the Combustion perk which causes enemies killed with Golden Gun to explode and use it on groups of mobs when you're outnumbered. Only shoot normal enemies, or majors if you need to get their health down quick. Most majors take two shots, while some only take one. If you drop an enemy and have the Combustion perk, you can usually take out 2 or 3 others from the explosion. That's where Golden Gun shines.

It's not supposed to be used against bosses. Think of the hunter as the guy who can get out of sticky situations by being creative.

Think about it like a Rocket Launcher vs a Sniper... the Titan and Warlock are the rocket launchers and the hunter is the sniper... except the sniper does the same damage as the rocket but only to one mob. Not balanced at all.

golden gun should get a buff for PvE. It wouldn't even really effect PvP because it one shots everything anyway

7 AntwortenI agree against Atheon on Hard (I'm 29) My golden Gun does about 8k, my Icebreaker does 19.5k ,Do the math 3 golden gun shots ( 4 if you have symbiote helmet) 8000x3= 24000 (8000x4=32000). Fully charged Icebreaker does 19.5 k x 6 shots= 117,000. I understand Ice breaker is an exotic and golden gun is just a super (just a super?) but there should not be that big a difference. Another example, before I got Icebreaker I used supremacy (queen) and on Atheon hard it did about 16.5k per critical, just saying. LEAVE IT ALONE IN PvP but BUFF in PvE

3 AntwortenNone of the supers ko ultras or bosses, they basically only kill mobs. The only time they kill majors is if there is a damage modifier on or more than 2 levels or so above your enemy. So yea....kinda pointless to ask this.
