This is an absolute joke.... This may be the thinnest DLC I've seen. Even COD's abysmal DLC has more content for the price. This is not a good sign... (Let me clarify that I don't/won't buy COD DLC because it is also trash. I used this to compare how terrible this DLC is. So sayin COD has MORE content was wrong. It doesn't change the fact that The Dark Below is a F*kin joke).
" Bungie has announced Destiny's first expansion, The Dark Below, will be available on December 9 for $19.99 / £19.99 as a standalone purchase, or as part of the $34.99 / £34.99 Season pass which also offers the second expansion, House of Wolves.
The developer has also gone into details about what new content we'll be seeing to justify that purchase price. Along with the expected new weapons and armour, the Light Level cap will raise to 32 with five new bounty slots also added.
The expanded story will apparently focus on new character Eris, who has spent years hiding among the Hive only to come forward bearing a warning. The Hive are apparently trying to summon a god, Crota, to destroy Earth. Eris will be found in the Tower where she'll offer you special quests including three new missions where you can increase your Light and get new rewards.
Other additions include a new co-operative Strike, The Will of Crota, which pits you against Omnigul as she works to expand Crota's Hive army, and a new six-player Raid, Crota's End, where you enter the Hellmouth presumably to take the deity on.
On the PvP front, there are three new arenas: Pantheon, set in the Black Garden inside a Vex temple with tight corridors; Skyshock, an old interplanetary defense array; and The Cauldron, an abandoned Hive ritual site focused on close combat.
Additionally, PlayStation platforms will get another co-operative Strike called The Undying Mind."
( Does Everyone agree that this is entirely too little content and isn't enough to keep this game fresh and interesting)..... 3 NEW STORY MISSIONS!!!! What a joke... 1 NEW COOP STRIKE....... 1 RAID..... and 3 PVP Maps (big surprise they're all CQC).
Edit: I'm truly shocked at how ignorant and willing to bend over some of you gamers are. You're allowing the industry to grab you by the nuts and tell you "This is how it's going to be and you're just going to deal with it". Look at some of these "patches" that have been released. They are purposely making the game more grindy to make it appear as though there is more content than is actually there. You can still enjoy the game and admit that it's lackluster and this DLC is paper thin. Hell, I enjoyed the game for a few weeks but I can't justify rinsing and repeating anymore. I can't tell if some of you are simple minded or if your ego is so big you can't admit when your being jerked around. To the peoples' eyes who are open to what's going on I thank you for your comments. It's painfully obvious smart gamers are now the minority and we are going to be subjected to this type of publishing going forward. Bungie doesn't give 2 sh*ts about what we think in all honesty, as long as they look at their numbers and see 3.2 mill people playing. That's what they'll hang their hat on. If only they could look into the minds of those people playing and see what they're thinking. I would bet anything that this time next month Bungie won't be throwing the number 3.2 mill around anymore because that number is going to drop considerably...... If anyone has taken the time to read some of the recent reviews online, it is obvious that these people were paid off in some sort of way. I read one yesterday where the headline was something like "Bungie adds a ton of new content to the already lush world of Destiny"...... Like the game or not, that is a false statement. I really like the gamer's quote from that Live Video game streaming house that read "We already have so much to do in Destiny, what we'd really like are just some more ways to enjoy the content we already have".... REALLY? You'd enjoy doing the same freaking strikes again if they add another modifier? I especially enjoy the new Septiks White Flag modifier. Prime is so tired of being killed a millions times a day, when you reach him in the strike he just blows up.

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von wojo55: 10/30/2014 9:13:39 PMYou all justify it by comparing it to another bad dlc cod lol ( same company derp) how about we compare it to skyrim dlc or wow

1 AntwortenBungie could literally shit in a box and some people would not only buy it but defend it blindly. "It doesn't smell like shit... you're just bad at smelling".

1 AntwortenCOD brings 4 online maps and one map for their extra thing (zombies, extinction, etc.) destiny brings us 4 maps a new strike a new raid and more story missions (for playstation another extra strike with that all) so i would say it is actually well worth the money plenty more content for just a bit more money and if you bought the season pass as i did it is well worth the money in my opinion but thats just me i guess

2 AntwortenNow that I know the new pvp maps are all catered to more corner camping radar players with their supers, shotguns and fusion rifles again, I know to steer clear. Why does bungie cater to people who cant aim now? I dont understand. Didn't they make halo?

30 AntwortenLast comment. Since people are bringing up subscriptions vs Destiny's pay per content approach, lets use that to put this in a different perspective. Destiny released Sept 9th. So that's three months that will have passed before the new content is released, which will cost you twenty bucks. Now I'm sure those of us that like the game have been playing constantly during this time. To continue our journey Bungie is asking for 20 bucks for the three months of game time that have already passed. Compared to what most monthly subscription based games cost, that's pretty cheap. If you do the math...based on the standard rate of subscription MMOs, which is fifteen bucks a month, the three months of game time would amount to forty five bucks. That's game time that we've already used plus the amount of time that's ahead of us before the next xpac is released. That's a good deal. Now seeing this kind of marketing before during my long history as a gamer (since 1983) mainly with how the rates have been with past CoD DLC under Activision, I kinda saw this coming. So... I thought ahead and spent thirty bucks extra for the Limited Edition so I could get the extra physical loot and the DLC that came with the base game including the up coming patches, all at that price. In doing so i saved 10 bucks on the upcoming DLC alone. I kind see that as Bungie rewarding me a loyalty discount for committing to their product before it was released. For paying for my three months before using it. Now before the naysayers reply and say "Well Shoultz101, we paid sixty bucks to play three months worth of a game and now are paying another twenty!" My point still stands and is even more reinforced, since most subscription games also require you to pay for the base game. WoW makes you pay for the base game, the xpacs and a monthly sub on top of that! (Again, no one bitching at Blizzard) Over hours played, Destiny is becoming a steal. My ultimate point being is that before totally storming the forums with with your trail of tears for all to read, try to look at things in a different perspective and be honest with yourselves. While twenty bucks seems a bit high for the content they are offering, take into consideration the time you're going to spend playing that twenty dollar content. I'm sure those of you who really like the game with spend that petty amount for the hours of cheap entertainment that Destiny is. That's twenty bucks for days/months of quality entertainment while sitting on your ass in the comfort of your home. That's spending less than you would going out on a Saturday night out. A -blam!-ing movie, two hours worth of crap you can only watch once cost 5 bucks less than this will. Perspective....

1 AntwortenCool. Tons of people here don't care. You're not going to change anyone's mind. You wasted your time typing this. This post was useless

4 AntwortenYou know the DLC isnt even out yet, you dont even know how big it is, dont judge a book by its cover
-
Tldr The raid alone is worth $10. It's not a great deal but it's not overpriced either

1 AntwortenTwo words HORSE ARMOUR. I am done

3 AntwortenDon't get upset. The community still here after a month is the community that loves sucking some hard, slimy, salty bungie dick. Nobody will respond with logic, so don't get offended my good man.

4 AntwortenYour edit is hilarious. You act like buying this DLC will unleash hell on earth. Not all of us are sniveling little brats still living with mommy and daddy. I have a full time job and a family. 20$ for something I will enjoy for hours after the kids are in bed is nothing to me. Stop preaching. Get a job washing dishes and please PLEASE stfu.

3 AntwortenIs the dlc for xbox and playstation or just playstation?
-
$20/£20?!? Why do us Brits have to pay more?!?
-
Bought LE. Cant wait for the DLC man! Sounds awesome. See you starside, Guardian. :D

Not buying decision, trading in destiny as soon as I find something else to play a little sad about this.

6 AntwortenShut up Meg.

3 AntwortenThis again? Yeah, yeah, we get your point. Same like all the others. Same. Old. Post. Where's the next whiner?
-
3 AntwortenPeople are complaining about such little content, but you all act like this stuff was made overnight. If your soo heated why don't you send a work application to bungie and make all the shit your damn self? Jeez, give bungie a little slack
-
1 AntwortenI think that this DLC is just the beginning if something greater.
-
2 AntwortenSeems like quite a bit of content to me. Suck it up and buy it. Or don't and quit whining. Call of duty comes out in a few days I'm sure you'll have fun with those $15 expansions. Omg $5 cheaper!
-
1 AntwortenI'd pay $35 for the extra 5 bounty slots lol. Much needed improvement.
-
The raid alone is probably worth 10-15 dollars in my opinion. 5-10 dollars for the strikes/missions/maps that's a pretty god damn good deal.
-
11 AntwortenYou're wrong on so many levels. Let's do a count: 3 Story missions, 2 Strikes, 1 Raid, 4 PvP Maps. New weapons and equipment. That's a total of 10 new "maps" and loads of new gear. CoD (Ghosts) offers you 5 new "maps" with each DLC and one new gun. Lets compare the prices and, for the sake of argument we'll use the season pass prices in the UK (because they're where I'm based). Both are £35. COD gives you 4 sets and Destiny is giving you 2. Destiny : 2x 10 maps = 20 maps and a ton of gear. Ghosts: 4x 5 maps = 20 maps and 4 guns. So...equal content...in fact, Destiny wins with MORE gear added for the DLC. Why did I count the Playstation strike in the totals? Because those of us on the Xbox WILL get them (at no extra cost), eventually....just like the Playstation folks did get the COD stuff, eventually. Math alone slaps your argument in the face and I can say, without a doubt, that the content of the Destiny maps will be far greater than those of the CoD maps.....especially when you consider that CoD has just been re-skinning old maps for some of it's DLC (there-fore, it's not new content).

Can you buy the DLC with an EBT card?
-
16 AntwortenDude, 20 bucks. You poor? I just paid 10 for a KFC and that will give me like 8 minutes of pleasure. 20 for like 3 weeks worth is pretty effing good.
