Main points of the article:
- Drops Dec 9th
- There will be new weapons and armor, including legendaries and exotics, and five additional Bounty slots.
- The Dark Below will also introduce three new competitive multiplayer maps: Pantheon, Skyshock, and The Cauldron.
- Those on PlayStation platforms will gain access to an additional cooperative Strike dubbed The Undying Mind and more as an exclusive until Fall 2015.
- In The Dark Below, a new character Eris will arrive at the Tower to deliver an ominous warning: that The Hive plans to summon a powerful god, Crota, to destroy Earth
- The Dark Below will raise the maximum Light Level to 32
- One new Raid: Crota's End
So a few thoughts.
1. Three new story missions? Thats it?
2. There is ONE new strike and it is an exclusive until 2015 for PS4? Edit: it has been clarified that there are likely two strikes one is exclusive. Still one new strike for xbox is not enough.
Well I said I needed to see what the DLC was going to offer. Apparently the "additional bounty capacity" DeeJ mentioned yesterday is pay for content as well.
I'll keep playing with my kids, but otherwise I am done. It's not likely they will need this DLC before they are bored with Destiny as well. I don't think you withheld content anymore Bungie. I just think your game was no where near ready and you pushed out a shell to meet a contract obligation with Activision. It's been an utterly underwhelming ride of broken promises and terrible community relations.

1 AntwortenI think it's clear they only have 2 people developing... Nothing is getting done.

Cool, so I will get what? 5, maybe 6 hours of play time before the dlc is stale too? Thanks for jack s...
-
That's pretty disappointing. 3 more missions, a strike or two and a raid is not nearly enough to keep everyone's attention for more than a week or two. I thought they would have learned by now. And I was looking forward to a good "expansion" pack. Oh well.

3 Antworten£20 says that the people who say they won't buy this keep playing Destiny and end up buying the DLC :)
-
Who likes the story missions anyway? I would get this but there's no way I'm paying $35

Anyone want to join me in a new business venture? We can sell oranges on the cheap. Like 50 cents for 6 of em. But our bags only fit like 5. You want a bigger bag? We sell those too. $39.99.

3 AntwortenI do not know if it is worth $20, if that is even the price. If the content is solid then I suppose it is worth the money. Will I buy it? Most likely. Even though it is repetitive as some people say, I still enjoy this game a lot. Is it really any more repetitive than Call of Duty? The last title I played was Black Ops I or MW3 (don't remember which was more recent) and the only thing those games had was competitive multiplayer. Was it fun? Sure. But I have to wonder if the same people who are complaining about the repetitiveness of Destiny would complain for the same reason about Call of Duty. As for those on Xbox complaining about getting less content for the same price, you're not. The content for PS is "timed exclusive", so I would guess that once the time is up you will get the content you did not receive initially, for free (that is basically the same thing as early-release for Xbox over PS, just a longer time). Also, how can anyone complain about a lack of content in the DLC? As I recall, Call of Duty DLC was 5 maps or so and a new zombie level. Here we are getting a raid, two strikes (PS), 3 stories, new weapons and gear, a higher level cap, etc. That sounds like a better deal to me than a typical CoD DLC. The only DLC I can think of that offers a similar amount of content is the Fallout DLCs. That was a great game...hope they make a Fallout 4 soon.

And with that, the possibility of me not buying the DLC just hit 100%. I feel sorry for those of you who bought the Expansion Pass...

3 AntwortenThis game is disgusting in its lack of content. I'm pretty sure I've played free games with more to do and a more sensical loot system

2 AntwortenNot to mention, this basically pay to win when it comes to how the Iron Banner should work. So, in order for anyone that wants to compete in Iron Banner, they will have to buy the DLC to get to get their gear light level to 32? Otherwise, they will be at a disadvantage. Which doesn't include the weapons that may be more powerful being used in PvP that can only be obtained via the DLC. At least in COD if I kill a player that had a "DLC only gun" I can pick it up and use it. I will try out the new content either way (have ghost edition), but I'm not to happy with the direction Bungie is going because of their partnership with their Overlords. By the way, I think Devs/companies are missing the meaning of Expansion.
-
I'm glad I decided not to pay for the expansion pass, makes it a bit easier for me to pay for Dragon Age now.

This really makes sense.

2 AntwortenThe President of Bungie was asked specifically if there was Playstation exclusive content in this DLC. His answer was NO. Now Activision says there is. Busted!
-
2 AntwortenI can't wait to see all the Bungie fanboys defend this.

Bearbeitet von Birdy: 10/29/2014 10:13:05 PMI'm surprised people thought the exclusivity would be any different. It was blatantly obvious this game was geared towards Sony months before release. If you got a Microsoft system, fair enough, but you made your bed, now lie in it.

I really enjoyed the game play mechanics and the overall idea of Destiny. However, this games suffers from many content issues in the form of failed promises and missed opportunities. The potential this game had/has makes every issue that much more glaring . The timed exclusives suck because of how long the timing is. I just don't see people playing this game over and over and over again for the next month, let alone an entire year. At $60, if they would have released the first 2 DLC's as free updates then i would have been more than satisfied and I would remain loyal. However, with Shadow of Mordor and Sunset Overdrive out, I'm trading in my copy of Destiny. Halo MCC is also on the horizon, so i just dont see the need to continue playing the same missions over and over again on Destiny any longer. It has become stale and boring. Just my opinion, but I know it is shared by many.

So it comes out dec9th?
-
3 AntwortenIts hilarious because all of the DLC maps are already on the game disc. They are essentially selling you something that they already sold to you.
-
Bearbeitet von Prism23: 10/29/2014 10:03:50 PMWhat this really comes down to if you disagree with it then don't pay. Even though most people will no matter how much they gripe. I will buy a dlc to support a game I enjoy for some new additions. That's just the world we live in, PAY OR DON'T easy enough.
-
Really bungie makes good games but they need to get there shit together ps4 players already have shit Xbox players don't and the reason that is is half of the creators of bungie use ps4s come on bungie

5 AntwortenWell I guess that confirms it. I'm not getting Destiny DLC. One strike for me, ONE!?!?!? And three story missions? I am so disappointed I don't know where to begin. They say they are "listening to the community" well I call bullshit on that. Listen to all the cry babies wanting nerfed weapons, but getting a full game!?!?!? I see there is no answer to the reddit positing about what the story was supposed to be. No answer means they can't address it as there are truths to this. I want to know about what happened to everything that was in reveal trailers, etc. there has never been any addressing to these issues. Most people thought that there was more in the DLC, but it looks like they have cut that too. They are going to loose sooooo many players from xbox here. I personally will still play destiny. But I'm not getting the DLC till its on super sale. If it doesn't go on super sale, then I will stick with the content that I have.
-
Meh expansion is fine the garbage part is that PS3/4 is getting more exclusive content that we have to wait on or not get. It was fine as promotional thing, but afterwards all platform should have no exclusivity and equal content should be produced for both.
-
Destiny reminds me of cod, only buy the dlc for zombies= only buy the dlc for raids.
-
they don't have time to explain why they don't have time to explain the lack of content.
