Omg.. It literally says random class next to it. Just level your faction or the vanguard and buy the armor.

You are correct in that but it also says blue items are still available from legendaries in game so it hasn't actually changed, I think Bungie just forgot to change the text...

If I'm not mistaken, they made it that engrams can't give you anything less than what it's worth, (blues give you rates, purples give you legendaries, ect..) but in the case that you get something better then there's a chance to get a different class

Yeah that's completely correct but if you look at the contents section of engrams in game on a purple for example it still says blue is available even though its not.
