I get that it's work and you probably want to rush through it like you do with your meals, sex and the rest of life, but this is an opportunity. Learn to be a leader, a teacher, a guardian. I know your in it for the payoff but a quick cheap climax is not the real reward.
I'm not saying you have to all the time.
I'm not saying you shouldn't get a badass group and run the beast down in top gear.
I'm saying don't dismiss it. Adding a few new folks and teaching them the ropes is challenging. The team will probably stumble and fail. You will probably fail and get frustrated. But if you can teach at least one person how to make it through, then they can go and teach one person. Then you'll have a plethora of experienced guardians who are willing to do the raid without fear because they will all have been students and all have been teachers.
Edit: thanks for all the feedback. And let me be clear, I'm not asking for help on the raid, I'm just tired of people dismissing the idea of helping others. Granted, there are some you shouldn't waste your time on, but that's not all.
Also, if you're worried about their skill level, do some strikes and/or heroic missions first. Test their skill level and make a decision.

2 AntwortenHere is your first lesson, Make your own group and learn the fight with them. As all of us did. That concluded today's shit got real teaching!

1 Antwortenid rather not waste 10 hours "teaching" a player how to do the raid when i can roll with the same group for a 30 min run
-
3 Antwortenscrew you op if i dont let a level 26 with no experience into my raid group then so be it they can go -blam!- themselves im here to beat the piece of shit raid not to spend an extra 2 hours of my life waiting for some retard to slow me down

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von Ethan: 10/18/2014 5:46:08 PMI just beat the raid for the first time with a group consisting entirely of people that had never set foot in the vault before (including myself) and we beat it in four hours without having any idea what we were doing. From the perspective of a first timer, figuring out the vault for yourself isn't that hard and if you need to im sure there are dozens of tutorials out there explaining the gameplay mechanics. You don't need some level 30 guy to carry you all the way through, although it is helpful if someone is willing to, but still, not essential. Only took four hours for a bunch of first timers (us) to beat it. This is just my opinion formed from my experience with the raid

Many of the higher levels players now that have 29/30s have multiple characters, so why would we want to waste 4/5 hours playing with inexperienced players when we could just finish it in 1/2 hours with people we know or experienced randoms?? There's nothing more annoying than watching a player be at fault over and over again on the raid when you've been grinding it out for a few hours, ESPECIALLY on hard mode. I don't mind showing people the ropes and stuff and helping out but i have limited patience when the player is genuinely bad at the game when really PVE is pretty simple.

3 AntwortenYea I prefer the quick nut versus drawn out. Oh and yea I boot inexperienced nubbies to your raids...nobody got time for that!

I teach on ps3. Hit me up.

I have 3 other warlocks I need to do the raid on. I am not going to waste 5+ hrs caring the whole raid team because they are low level and dont know what they are doing. I didnt mind before but with this update the boss will just take way to long when you get low levels dying making the team whip.

5 Antwortengravytrain28...get off your cry baby arse and get the experience you need to beat it. Get your OWN friends, which by your crybaby post I take you have NONE and do it yourself. Some of us have found friends and learned...watched videos on what and how. This is becoming the BIGEST problem with Destine...CRYBABIES that can't go out and farm their own equipment and weapons. So they come here and bitch and complain and cry. SO..Bungie has to step in and nerf down weapons...weapons players spend HOURS getting. It's called testicular fortitude...look in to in and quit being a crybaby!!!!!!

I have a 3 strikes policy when it comes to taking new people through the raid. And I try my best, with 2 of my friends, to take 3 people that are completely new to it, at least once a week. I'll explain the fight, I'll give you tips and pointers about your particular job within an encounter, and paint a broad picture so you understand what's going on, not only for your role alone, but overall. • If you don't pay attention. You're out. • If you keep repeating the same mistake, over and over. You're out. • If you raise your voice at any time during the raid. You're out (I really can't stand people arguing and yelling on my ear, one of the things that annoys me the most) I will not take anyone below 26, and I will certainly not take a 'fresh' 26 either. You want to raid? You gotta be ready for it. Some decent gear and a decent loadout are required. Not asking for the whole shebang here, but put some effort into it if you want to become a raider eventually. I love to help, I love seeing people's reaction to encounters and just the whole place (which I believe to be pretty amazing, glitches and bugs aside), and I get my fix of laughs in the platforms puzzle. But I will not fully 'carry' someone through it. With decent people, it takes such a small amount of time, and they usually get a kick out of it and learn how to do it, hopefully giving them an incentive to teach others in the future. But I don't crucify those who don't like running with new people either. I am in no place to judge their gaming habits, or make assumptions about their time. They must have their reasons, and whatever those are, they are equally valid.

1 AntwortenI am looking for a group to allow me to join and show me the ropes to completing the VOG. I am not above starting with a group from scratch, but I have not had any luck with that yet. I am not looking to be carried. I will be an active participant while listening to instruction and learning. I am a mature adult with a mic. My applicable character is a lvl 27 Warlock. Thank you all. GT: Dr Internet 704 Platform: XBone

3 AntwortenThere's nothing more frustrating then taking an inexperienced or bad player into a raid. No one wants to restart every checkpoint for hours because of a few bad /inexperienced players. With the new update it's really not gonna happen
-
4 AntwortenI would love to take one or 2 inexperienced players into the raid with me each time. But that will all stop with the next update or patch. Because when they randomly teleport people it becomes significantly harder. And with this change I am sorry to say most groups will not be taking random players or first time players into the vault. No one wants to spend hours on end getting wiped and at the end get a shi* random drop. It is not worth it in the long run.
-
1 AntwortenIt is extremely frustrating taking inexperienced ones in, but I don't have much problem with it. Hell, it's easier to tell them what to do than telling the guy who thinks the world owes him a living for doing the raid once what to do. (I always leave when that one guy is there, I can't stand it)
-
I agree I'd help who ever needs it no matter how experienced they are in the raid if I can help you I'm there. I may not be the best player but I'm still pretty good an I feel as if I could help others on the raid as some others can I do it every Thursday with my raid group an sometimes we need a random or two. We explain what to do an some do even better then we thought they would it's amazing.

1 AntwortenSome people can't be taught and just dont listen though.

There are way too many people who just wants to get carried and receive free loot. Just an example, I get so many requests for pushing off the boss from warlocks.... like really such a easy task and yet you couldn't go watch a youtube video and just go in and practice by yourself? Hell even titans can solo him now. We'll till Tuesday atleast. As for not being taken into raids, really? Like there isn't a bunch of different forums that you can try to find a group on? So you get dropped once or a few times. What so you're just going to give up and cry? Basic requirements of being taken on a raid. Have a mic. Be slightly higher then the required level requirements, so you won't be a liability. READ the damn strategy on what to do first, that way when you're in there and someone tells you do something you atleast have a idea of what you need to do. Not just stand there and go "huh".

1 AntwortenYou, my friend, deserve a cookie. Maybe even two. I've been that student and i'm sure i'll be that teacher eventually as well!
