You go work 40+ hour week for a year and spend the well hard earn money on a new car. You EARN the money to buy the car.
You go in a buy a lottery ticket and WON a million bucks. You WON the money, you didn't earn it.
See the difference?
EDIT: Do you know that box saids "reward" after you finish a strike or in crucible? That means you won this as a reward? You never earn rewards.

Bearbeitet von Haku: 10/17/2014 6:38:10 PMYou are guaranteed at least one Engram, and at least one other reward, 25 reputation and 6 marks after doing the level 24 Strikes. Those are earned, they are guaranteed*. Much like that wage for working. What isn't earned, however, is the type or color of the engram, nor what item it produces. You may get lucky, you may not. Much like winning the lottery. *Also, you aren't guaranteed to get vanguard items as your second reward, even though it's listed on the reward table. You aren't guaranteed motes of light, strange coins, shaders another engram, or even more than two rewards. Your first reward is your wage, your second reward is your lottery.

2 AntwortenReward: a thing given in recognition of one's service, effort, or achievement. A reward can be earned.

I can't believe people are arguing over what constitutes earning in a video game.
-
2 AntwortenBuying car = Earned. Buying lottery ticket = not earned? You say you don't earn rewards, yet if you get a Vanguard bounty it says...
Rewards: Vanguard Reputation 100+ Experience +5000
Your logic is retarded.
-
And this even remotely matters why?
-
1 AntwortenWait so what you are saying is Energy equals Mass times the speed of light squared? This is profound!
-
You can definitely earn rewards just like you can earn strange coins, you did not however earn an exotic drop by doing nothing in the crucible or getting lucky with RNGesus. People are ridiculous. Xur sells cool shit. Who cares. It doesn't make you cool to be the only one with an exotic just an asshole when you whine about other people having it.

Good logic, you nerds with your "earned it" badges are full of yourselves

1 AntwortenHow does this have any relevance to time spent in game. Guy A signs in, completes a strike, gets Truth from a Legendary Engram after 20 minutes. Guy B signs in, spends 30 minutes on Nightfall, a further 5-6 hours collecting strange coins. Guy A has "worked" for 20 minutes to get his item. Guy B has "worked" for 6+ hours to get his item. RNG pretty much shits all over your logic.

2 AntwortenIf you win the lottery, you did earn it. You bought the ticket knowing the odds, you actually earned it. As for the game... Nothing in it is earned. Whether from drops or zur, which is bought with drops.
-
1 AntwortenExcept you play the lottery weekly so time is money meaning you earned it.

That's something similar to what I just posted in another thread a few minutes ago...
