And stop saying "don't like it play something else" "just take it back" "but I am sure that more free content is coming, just be patient" as it does nothing to address the valid criticism that people have. Just as you have the right to complement and boot lick to your heart's content, we have the right to hold Bungie to task. I would prefer it be civil and constructive, but not everyone can do that. And under that visceral angry rant and swear word ridden post is often a customer with very legitimate issues with the product they purchased.
So take my situation as an example:
Sell it? Wish I could.
I bit in so HARD to the hype and the Bungie name that I cancelled my Best Buy pre-order, lost a 20% discount and a $10 credit and free shipping, plus double points for the purchase - so that I could buy the Digital Guardian Edition (with both expansions) for $90. All totaled I spent around $113 to make that switch so I could download the game to be able to play at launch.
Then with all of the wireless connectivity issues that THEIR network has I invested around $150 in my network plus a static public IP at $10 a month to resolve the heavy data packet requirements to run Destiny (other multi-player games play flawlessly) via a wired connection and FINALLY it does run smooth as silk (except for the occasional appearance of random fauna errors - centipedes, beavers and the like).
So... I can't return it and I am STUCK with it (kicking myself for it) and will continue to hold Bungie to task until they deliver the product that I know and expect them to deliver. Its called getting your money's worth.
So put yourself in some else's shoes for a minute. They don't like to grind and hate it. They find the story vapid, meaningless, devoid of flavor, a horrible waste of acting talent, crappy writing, etc. and thought it would be short but at least Bungie quality. They don't like the complete and totally random loot stuff and the uncontrolled RNG. They expect to have basic grouping/communication/D pad functions/ and other BASIC tools at their disposal. And none of its here and THEY CAN'T get their money back!
So let them complain to the company responsible. Keep on kissing their butt and patting them on the back for butchering the product and dolling it out to you in paid DLC. But for those of us who actually expect to have something meet a quality standard and expectations SET BY THEM - just let us complain and get our money's worth. If we do get our money's worth its only to YOUR BENEFIT.
So please, stop with the patronizing "if you don't like it just suck it up" posts - they are not helpful.
And what is more sad is that I find the forums to be more entertaining than Destiny after level 20...

13 AntwortenBearbeitet von Meilf: 9/29/2014 6:33:25 PMFor you OP: If you don't like it, play something else. If you can't return it, then wallow in pity, just get off my game. More content is always coming. Read the Grimiore. I suggest you take a chill pill and enjoy the game for what it is and stop bitching about it. It's ridiculous...And yes... this reply isn't helpful. How can you expect a helpful reply from something you write that isn't helpful at all. You want me to make you feel better about your purchase and preconceived notions/expectations? Pfft. If you have any helpful criticsim...thats another thing.

1 AntwortenAnyone defending Bungie is a joke, you can tell this by how they defend them. Small minded people have always loved the establishment..... Great thinkers have always questioned it There will always be the Queen's soldiers, but they lack the heart of any true warrior. LET THE TRUTH BE KNOWN

14 AntwortenLike you said yourself, you bought into the hype. No one made you. If you don't like the game I feel sorry for you. But damn, sitting at your computer for 15 minutes just to send bungie hate mail is just plain dumb. If you don't like the game, or are dissatisfied with the amount of content, go play something else.

8 AntwortenHonestly, the reason everyone is complaining is because this game was far too overhyped and now nobody can accept even the tiniest of flaws in this game. Even I'm bothered by stuff in the game because there was just so much hype and then everything that was expected but not delivered, was a major letdown. Another reason, people claim it to be an MMO. Since it's been said to be an "MMO", everyone expects tons of content and things to do and fun and so they play the shit out of it only to realize that there's no content left. All I cam say is, I'll wait it out for Bungie, but as soon as my other games come out, I'm gonna focus on those rather than Destiny all the time (which has been the o ky game I can play, spare outlast, since they released it earlier than most games).

1 AntwortenDo you think the connection issues could be your NAT type? Because I hardly ever disconnect

3 AntwortenTake it back...play something else

1 Antworten
I invested around $150 in my network plus a static public IP at $10 a month
Uh...dude I hate to break it to you, but you can make your own static IP for free in your router settings. Google MAC address cloning.

All those Rng loot vendors. Man must suck that you can just buy exotics.
-
2 AntwortenStop complaining and just play the game. Give them some updates and patches and then, can you complain about issues. Its been out but a few weeks and there will be flaws. So yes, stop complaining.
-
6 AntwortenOnly a matter of time before this franchise is dead. It had potential but there are other games coming out that will trump destiny. Players will drift towards these games and destiny's servers will be a desert (which they feel n look like any ways).

5 AntwortenIf you want us to stfu then make a reasonable complaint. You stated a bunch of aspects that's are part of an mmo that isn't liked. Then why the hell did you buy an mmo in the first place!?! I could understand complaining about the cryptarch, the RNG, the bugs, the server quality, but to list off key aspects in a mmo is just plain ignorant. If you don't want to be ripped a new one, trolled, and criticized for your opinion then I suggest you and your crying brethren make a valid argument.

1 AntwortenSo your telling us to shutup, about telling you to shut up about your bad decisions?

1 Antworten
And what is more sad is that I find the forums to be more entertaining than Destiny after level 20...
this is funny...lol. anyway, complaining is fine, but i think there is a difference between complaining and constructive criticism. i mean, if someone wants to complain and call bungie and activation names and hurl expletives at the game, that is fine...just don't tell me it is to encourage the making of a better game. in life, as in feedback forums, you have lost any respectful audience's attention the moment you start debasing your argument with a lot of cursing and name-calling. if i was bungie, i wouldn't even pay attention to a post like that because it is out of anger and not criticism. this is why if you read movie critics or professional gaming critics review a movie or game, it has a tone which suggests that the author has critically thought about what they are writing. so, in short, if people wanna complain that is fine and even therapeutic, but depending on how it is done it can't honestly have anything to do with making a better game. if people want to constructively criticize the game, then I think that has a great chance at giving bungie meaningful feedback in order to create a better experience for us long-term. just a thought...

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von Wisak: 9/29/2014 3:40:06 PMNow imagine that person that paid 1000$ for the Collector's edition on Ebay. Picture him, crying in the darkness. I agree 100% with you. We had a similar problem with Diablo 3. Now it's more playable than before, but it required a lot of feedback, angry posts and discussions to have it fixed. This is the same problem. It will need months,if not years, of patches to be what we deserve. I find that to be a problem.

15 AntwortenYeah this game was something people needed to look into before they purchase. All the people I've seen complaining are ones who expected a balls to the wall halo shooter because it's bungie. I personally knew what I was in for with destiny and truly am exstatic about the game and how it is. I'm tired of pure matchmaking games with no story at all that I spent 60$ on (i.e. titanfall) if I'm not getting my monies worth out of the story alone the game company has failed me. The problem is so many people grinded to hard instead of pacing themselves. Me personally I've got a lvl 28 character and done the raid 3 times now and I'm still not sick of it

5 AntwortenIt is not in the fact that the are expression discontent that is the problem it is how they are doing it that is the problem. By acting and sounding like entitlement mined me generation individuals and that their view is paramount and that Bungie has to listen to them and make them happy again right this very moment. When that is simply not the truth in any way shape or form.
-
4 AntwortenI am totally fine with people complaining. They just do it so immaturely and obnoxiously that it makes them seem like spoiled brats who have to have everything their way. Constructive Criticism is something that isn't being used enough in the feedback, amd the constructive criticism that is there is hidden under too many generic complaints that aren't expressed appropriately.

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von redrum: 9/29/2014 10:13:28 PM
So put yourself in some else's shoes for a minute.
You should practice what you preach a bit. You have to understand that your epic personal letdown is not some objective truth we must all abide by. Sure, there's room for improvement and criticism, but just because some don't agree with your sentiments doesn't mean they're fanboys licking Bungie's bunghole.
-
1 AntwortenI actually agree that there should be some refund possibility for digital console games. It's just revoking a license.
-
4 AntwortenThis is not the first or last game with dlc on disc. You can complain all you want, but they are in their legal right to do so. No matter how many petition or treating to sue will change this. I suggest accept it and move on.

3 AntwortenStatically half of you will die within 10 years. Have fun with your plan when your in a grave idiots.

2 AntwortenWell said. There's a real "voice of the customer" concern here. I just read on Forbes that game developers can be penalized for getting bad meta critic scores (like no bonus from the publisher!). So, customer comments matter. It is in Bungie's best interests to listen and learn from it's target audience. The downside is when a company is so well off they can do what they want and still get paid super well without customer focus: Transformers 1, 2, and 3 anyone? CoD? I hope Bungie has it's ears open. Destiny's 10 year plan may become a-game-a-year until they get it right. I don't see many customers buying into that model. This hasn't built the steam that CoD has over the years where they can bank on guaranteed sales projections. I for one will be super apprehensive of Destiny 2, not be preordering it, and wait for the official post-launch reports to see if 2 is really 1.2.

2 AntwortenGame is a pile of shit without peanuts. People who complain about complainers are lame and queer. Not queer as in weird, queer as in pole smoker.

The servers keep crashing sux

2 Antworteni still think it's easier to simply stop playing, sell the damn disc and go on with your life, the funny thing is that i really enjoy this game but, i'll probably stop playing it soon (it's just that there is a lot of games coming in the next months that i want to play too) and i probably won't buy the expassions, but mark my words, a good amount of the whinners will still be playing crying about the game and will buy the expassions. (sorry for the bad english, not my native language)
