I think it's totally cool that any player has the chance to pick up legendary engrams and obtain awesome gear--it makes the game exciting even for those who might suffer in the crucible or for those who don't obtain as many kills as others in strikes. But I think that one's chances of finding a legendary engram should increase a bit if they show some prowess. I'm not saying that I am the most skilled player out there--I certainly am not--but I do pretty well. I pull my weight in the crucible with a k/d consistently above 1 (while playing the objective), and I deal out some serious damage in strikes and missions. But after almost 8000 kills and 38 hours played, I have only encountered one legendary engram (and it turned out to be just a rare item). I honestly feel like Destiny is turning into a time sink for me without the rewards that I see others getting all around me.
I like Destiny, and I want to enjoy it, but it seems like the odds are literally against me. I'm swarmed with an endless wave of uncommon engrams (I've come to calling them common engrams by habit) that I just dismantle on the spot. While others in my clan are getting excited over their new gear and the opportunities opened up by leveling up, I feel like I'm stuck and can't do anything other than endless grinding in order to have the remotest chance of progressing. I know a couple of others in my circle who feel the same way, and I'm pretty other Destiny players feel the same way. It's my hope that you can read this and perhaps tweak the game to offer a few more skill based incentives.
If any of you reading this have suggestions for obtaining legendaries, please let me know.

2 AntwortenThe way this loot system goes it may be actually profitable to join a match, go afk, and just let it sit for a few hours.

But again, if the loot was spread out by performance it would be terrible for player balance. I wouldn't be against the highest scorer getting things like strange coins or motes of light though.

1 AntwortenYep, this is one of the things that ticks me off. I was in a group in the crucible, we were down 3k points in a 3vs3 death match mission swung it around and won the match. For the entire last half of the match we shut down the other team and killed them all the time. Result from the end of the match one guy got an item everyone else got nothing. I was like come on, at least say good job. The game even told us we could still lose with dignity at one point before we turned it around. Had this happen on strikes too, run up the highest kills and assists get one blue item. Other guy gets two, a blue and a purple, the other guy two blues. I was like well this blows. That's the problem with RNG they run off an internal setting and if they messes up just a little bit your random numbers are not so random. The one guy posting in another forum about only getting coins from his legendary engrams might be in that boat. With it just being launch though don't expect them to look to heavy into bugs in the cryptarc at this point. At most bungie might just give everyone with a cryptarc level over a set point a free legendary at some point as a woops our bad we didn't test this enough gift.

3 Antworteni agree. im usually on the top of the leaderboards for my team in control, and its getting tiresome to see worse players getter better rewards while i get jack all. i mean look at this shit

2 AntwortenWhat I really don't like about this game is that the rewards are completely based on RNG, even on Strikes o Crucible. I joined a group in progress on The Nexus strike, they were already on the boss. I arrived at the place, killed a mob and just before I shot the boss, they killed it. My rewards were better than the other 2 players. I received a Lv20 item and a strange coin, while they just got the item. I got rewarded better than the players that 2 manned a dungeon and I spent less than 2 minutes in it. Seriously, Bungie should change it so that the rewards are increased based on your performance, the more you kill, the less you die = Better rewards.

5 AntwortenBearbeitet von EkadoFearnario: 9/16/2014 8:05:29 AMI just have one input to put out, i love the line of it seems alot of others but me are getting legend/exotic, but theres a reason for that, and its a simple t-chart. On the left you have yourself with the standard possible outcome of getting unique stuff, and on the right you have 499,999+ players, each with the same chance, but since their grouped, their chances are technically speaking higher. This is all your seeing. In anyone elses mind its them vs you and everyone else, and in this scenario, its you this time and your group getting all the uniques. Its really a fascinating thought really.

9 AntwortenI'm yet to receive a legendary engram, im now level 25 with 42 hours sunk into the game. It is starting to get a bit silly. The RNG Gods are against me

4 AntwortenTry playing PvE. Tons of legendary engrams to loot there
