I personally enjoy watching a disk slide into the console, and it makes me sad when I take one out. It means the end of an adventure, and the start of a new one

Not worth it for me I have the limited edition on order for £75 from amazon and from xbox store to buy the digital edition it's £85 so makes no sense. Plus I'm working on the Tuesday so midnight playing is out of the question I will just wait till I get home on Tuesday to get my destiny fix

Much to my wife's credit, I've gotten out of the habit of keeping my video game library out on a shelf for display, so I care substantially less about getting the physical media than I used to. In the case of Destiny, I enjoyed the Beta so much (and I have sufficient faith in Bungie in the long run) that to me it just seems easier to go digital in this case and forget about disk swapping, so DGE pre-order I think it's going to be at this point... Also, for those saying it takes just a few minutes to install from physical media, that has not been my experience. I have a launch day xbone and just last night I had to reinstall Titanfall (continually crashing to the Home screen when trying to load), and I stopping paying attention after it had been well over 30 minutes. Also, if the Beta was any indication, there may not be the option to start playing when the install reaches some fixed level of progress. Recall that with the Beta you were actually downloading what amounted to an installer which then had to unpack the game after it had completed. So, there's that. I also just don't care about playing at midnight ET - I need to sleep. :) It'll be there the evening of the 9th, but again, preload has the advantage of me being able to sit down that evening and play, whereas if I waited for Amazon Prime (via UPS), the disc wouldn't arrive until 6pm at the earliest, meaning it could be a few hours still for install/patching before I can play from disc.

If the digital version wasn't £25($40) more than a physical copy, then I would go digital. But currently, Xbox store is stupidly over priced compared to retailers here in the UK.

Bought the digital guardian edition last night and pre downloaded it...Which was just enough to tease me until the 9th

I am planning on doing this, but after seeing that the digital version of titanfall gave me achievements in german (I live in Germany, but cant speak the language) ...I am worried that the same will happen with destiny.

I think disks are way more dependable.
