Kotaku scandal + 4chan donates $5,000 to spite feminism that suppressed a pro-women game jam
I don't really know what to say. This basically all started with someone wielding attention like a weapon and using relationships with journalists to suppress stuff. It's pretty terrible. I know I could never explain it so here are some links to read/listen:

[url=https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-fine-young-capitalists--2]The indigogo page for The Fine Young Capitalists is back up[/url], it's perfectly clear which sites were [i][u]deeply[/u][/i] involved in this mess, there is now a mascot for gaming equality, and I learned more about what it means to be a journalist (vocabulary +3). I'm really just awaiting the last words from a good-and-proper news site. My biggest fear is that so little will change. Did we do anything to the central hypocrisy itself? Did this change the indie videogame scene? Will the same click-bait news sites avoid the kind of stuff that they got clearly and openly called out for or not change their ways? What will happen to the reputation and readership of the sites that were clearly indicted? What will be history's final verdict? Will this mean anything for those that didn't care about gaming news? I'm just glad PCGamer stayed the heck away from this whole mess and kept the professionalism that comes with publishing a magazine.

Apparently, this Zoe person (I'm still not exactly sure who she is or where she came from) falsely accused several websites and online groups (notably SillySlander and Wizardchan) of harassing her or being misogynistic, using her victimization to gain supporters from the feminist community and getting getting the people on said sites harassed and compromised. At the same time, she had been sleeping with people in the gaming industry and using her following to promote (what most people consider to be) a low-quality text-based flash game to get put on steam. Since this showed possible corruption in the industry, several people reported on it, only to be taken down and attacked by Zoe's supporters. This is what really started the shitstorm, causing an escalation of people criticizing Zoe for her use of censorship, only to be responded by rather vicious attacks and twitter meltdowns by zoe's supporters, which in turn raised more criticism and further hostility. In the midst of this, Zoe attacked the TFYC group linked by OP, game designers whose objective is to give women who may not have the means to make games themselves a chance to submit ideas, because they were somehow oppressive by not having the women be the lead designers (which defeats their whole purpose). She also claimed to be hacked by /v/, but there was no evidence that /v/ had hacked anyone (at least not recently), and responded by deciding to help out TFYC, raising thousands of dollars to sponsor their next game, donate to cancer charities and designed a character to represent themselves in TFYC's next game, to show how wrong and hypocritical Zoe's supporters were. Still, TFYC still came under heat by "feminists" anyway, and recently got hacked and had the charity shut down by an as-of-yet unknown party. Personally, as someone not involved in any of these communities this has been one of the most entertaining internet drama's to watch in a long time, and Vivian James is a great new waifu.
