Final Edit: Thank You For All The Inputs Community! Many of your comments were very informative and relevant.
Many of the posts suggest I go with my m8s on this one and evidently that happens to be the PS4, I plan on purchasing one in November or Early December. Take Care And I'll See You Starside!

8 AntwortenBearbeitet von SGT TickleFight: 8/16/2014 2:37:25 AMYou should buy what your friends are getting, that matters most. With that said, PS4 is a better piece of hardware, but I believe Live is a better service than PSN and MS seems to spend more resources updating their software over the long haul. If you turn on a 360 now versus a month after release it is truly a new machine due to the software improvements - especially ease of access to social features which cultivate more community interaction. PS4 will always have slightly better graphics, but as devs learn the machines the gap will eventually be too small for most to notice. You may appreciate xbone's multi-tasking features more than you think - snapping a youtube video when achievement hunting is pretty cool. In short, if you mostly game solo, PS4 is the better machine at its core and has a better software package right now. If social gaming is important to you and you are willing to take a chance in the hope that MS develops the software into something special including making use of the connect you should look at xbone. That, and Halo. Edit: I like the controller sooo much better than the PS controller. When I opened the box, I was like WTF? It's the same as the 360 controller. After comparing, they made small changes and it is the most ergonomic (for me) controller I've handled. Most people write this off but it is the only piece you actually handle regularly. You should try the controllers out at your local retailer to compare the two and find out what you like.

The thing to remember about Xbox is that the main reason it's been losing to Sony is because they're STILL feeling the backlash of how badly they screwed up the launch. All the conflicting statements, the redacted statements, the insults to our fighting men and women, it made alot of people jump ship. Sony saw this and branded their console to fit what all the disheartened xbox gamers hopes for a next gen system. Xbox CAN run in 1080p, Forza 5 Proved this. The difference between the two is that Playstation is all about machine power while Xbox is about user Interface. Ask anyone who owns both, they'll tell you Xbox Live is the better service. I hate to bring it up, but we were never hacked. So, Pro's and Con's time: Sony: Pros~ Slightly more powerful machine. Better chance of porting games from Japan. Interesting lineup of exclusives coming out. free games for subscription service are better. Cons~ STILL a likelyhood of getting hacked(Sony hasn't changed their style of security, just beefed it up) uncomfortable controller. no way to stream video fro its video service to mobile platforms. XBOX: Pros~ Better security. Better Online Service Better Indie Scene and Support Better chance of seeing PC ports due to similar coding. Cons~ More expensive(if you want the Kinect.) Less memory(although that, too is about to become superfluous) so there you have it, now decide.

I see the Playstation fans say that PS4 is more powerful... but the only reason this is is due to the Xbox One ringfencing CPU cycles for the Kinect voice recognition... Personally I don't find that it has made me like playing games any the less. The rules for choosing your console is. 1. Where are my friends playing. 2. What games do I like that are on one console but not the other. 3. Do you play mainly single player or multiplayer games (if Multiplayer then question 1 will be more important). Those are the only 3 questions you need to answer when choosing one or the other.

Bearbeitet von Buzzkiller: 8/16/2014 3:00:59 AMMy advice to anybody asking "which system?" is always the same. Find out what each system does best and weigh those strengths with your interests. If you are a highly social gamer get the system your friends are on. Which system has the best exclusives. This includes games, features like apps, and subscription services, and peripherals e.g. kinect. If you are really picky about controllers go get your hands on them at best buy or gamestop. If not you will probably be fine with either. I hope this helps.

Personally I'm a Microsoft fanboy and I love my Xbox One. The controller is well designed and very rugged, fits snug in my hand and the vibrating triggers feel amazing in games I play such as Forza and battlefield4. Even better when you have a sound system. Now the dashboard keeps getting updated with more and more helpful and cool things, also unlike the ps4 you can organize your apps and games which is helpful. I'm so glad I bought the Xbox One w/ kinect because it's truly innovative. You can even name your xbox so instead of saying,"Xbox Record That" you call it by it's given name then give it a command. The snapping ability is also truly something sweet, you can snap your favorite tv shows or anything app you have such as twitch. The exclusives keep getting better and better! Xbox Live is well favored over hardcore gamers because of its High Quality services. I feel as if Xbox One is more of a rich mans console. You pay for what you get in the end and you should get the Cod Advanced Warfare Xbox One for 500 bucks, it has a TB Hardrive and comes with day zero edition of advanced warfare. You can't go wrong, many of my loyal sony fan boys have switched over to X1 recently! Also people keep bringing up the hardware difference and act like its a big difference. It's not. I am very fortunate to have a very nice tv, 240h 4k 3d tv and let me tell ya, you can run a ps4 next to my Xbox one on my tv vs most ppl's tv and you can easily see Xbox one would be graphically better. It's all in your own tv

8 AntwortenWell let me just put this here quoted from CheeseFactory: " 1. PS4 is more powerful (1.8 vs 1.3 Teraflops) (http://au.ign.com/blogs/finalverdict/2013/10/26/xbox-one-vs-playstation-4-hardware-and-specifications/) 2. PS4 has faster GDDR5 Memory, which has twice the throughput of the ddr3 found in the xbone (http://au.ign.com/blogs/finalverdict/2013/10/26/xbox-one-vs-playstation-4-hardware-and-specifications/) 3. PS4 cheaper to buy (Why would someone pay more for a less powerful system?) 4. PS4 has more games (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_4_games) 5. PS+ is better value (6 free games a month, across 3 platforms. It’s also cheaper than Live and has a better selection of games) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Instant_Game_Collection_games_(PAL_region)) 6. PS4 is 3 times more popular than the xbone (http://www.vg247.com/2014/07/31/playstation-consoles-outselling-xbox-by-more-than-31/) 7. Has a player base that is 3 times bigger, as a result 8. All cross platform games look and perform better on the PS4 (name a single cross platform game that looks/performs better on xbone, bet you can’t) Here is the proof: http://m.au.ign.com/wikis/xbox-one/PS4_vs._Xbox_One_Native_Resolutions_and_Framerates 9. PS4 is focused on games. Doesn’t have focus on TV and Sports like the xbone does (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbWgUO-Rqcw) 10. The xbone Dashboard is filled with advertisements http://www.sticktwiddlers.com/2013/06/28/xbox-one-dashboard-created-with-advertising-in-mind/ 11. The xbone Dashboard in general is a complete mess that is hard to navigate (http://www.edge-online.com/features/xbox-why-the-baffling-incompetence-of-the-xbox-one-interface/) 12. PS4 didn’t make you buy a kinnect and then remove support for it 6 months later, effectivity screwing over early adopters 13. All Microsoft care about is feeding you more ads https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixqwOIByMAc&app=desktop 14. DixectX12 will not save the xboen or help game run at 1080p http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/187549-directx-12-is-coming-next-year-but-it-probably-wont-help-xbox-one-games-run-at-1080p 15. PlayStation platforms have exclusive content in Destiny 16. PS4 is the lead platform for Destiny 17. PS4 has the largest player base in Destiny of any of the 4 platforms, has more pre-order than any other platform 18. Was able to render the Alpha and Beta in full HD 1080p, so there won’t be any nasty surprises when the game is fully released 19. Has controllers which don’t require AA batteries or firmware updates"

6 AntwortenBearbeitet von Praeclarus: 8/16/2014 2:28:20 AMAs an older guy who's been thru just about every system and no bias due to I want the most bang for my buck I would say go with the system that fits your needs best. Most young men are in to first person shooters and such, cod, halo, destiny, etc so xbox caters to that crowd. Ps4 on the other hand is designed with family's more in mind. Netflix, rpgs, psn network for streaming games now. I stuck with Sony due to the fact that in the long run Sony has ushered in blue ray, and allot of other stuff. Make an educated guess and do your research. Never buy a product off of loyalty. It will bite you in the long run. Systems I've owned, Atari 400, nes, snes, gameboy in all variations, xbox, xbox 360, Ps1-4, Wii. Just to name a few

If you can enjoy the PS3 controller, you'll be fine with the PS4's. Ultimately, the choice shouldn't be based on things like graphics and other stuff that will end up equal over the years as the consoles get updates and developers learn to coax more out of them. Your choice should be purely based on what games, what exclusives (and I don't mean a few skins, but actual exclusives), and what community you want to have access to. I got the X1 because a few exclusives, even Destiny exclusives, are not worth giving up on Halo, my XBL account, and being able to play with all my friends (who are on xbox).

5 AntwortenPs4 is better cause I say so...

6 AntwortenI own both. Neither are worth it. Stick with the PS3. Wait until they actually start taking advantage of the new equipment.

1 AntwortenXbox one clans are very common on these forums while ps4 not so much Xbox has halo collection and such as exclusive (Sunset overdrive) Xbox has a voice command that actually works and the controller doesn't look weird also halo was an ancient tradition on xbox soo why not continue with halo 5 and other halos coming out

2 AntwortenBoth consoles are bad. Resist the influences of either of them 1: Save a few hundred more than the cost of a "new" console. 2: Buy the parts for a bitchin' gaming PC. 3: Assemble aforementioned bitchin' gaming PC. 4: Wait for Destiny to be released on PC. 5: Buy Destiny for PC. 6: ??? 7: Profit. #PCMasterRace #PatheticConsolePeasants #GetOnMyLevel

I think the major thing is which types of games you wish to play and whether or not you enjoy recording or streaming gameplay. The PS has power on its side and a more global platform with more RPGs and more some better arcade games. The hardware integration tends to be more reasonable and more accessible to indie platforms and more games have a local multiplayer option. Xbone has more shooters and stays fairly reliable. The software updates in the background, the layout is simple and a bit more straightforward, and the triggers on the controller seem a bit more intuitive. The voice commands are rather interesting and allow for easy navigation. You can even start up an entire entertainment system with two words as it connects to a stereo and your TV and can send messages to both. As for the community? I've found that the Xbone is somewhat vocal, but no more than any other platform. Messaging and everything is easy and people tend to be alright. Beware of fanboys across the board. Not sure if I sold anything, but I've gotten so tired of the console wars that I've kind of gone numb.

I love the ps4 controller but I still think the xbox controllers are better across generations. I like the staggered placement of the thumbsticks. Halo MCC looks like it'll be pretty cool.
-
Play halo, you'll be hooked
-
The Xbox One controller is slightly smaller and if you liked the PS3 controller you'd love it. Also Xbox One has monthly updates which don't just fix bugs but add more features. Xbox One has a thriving Destiny, I often found myself in public events when playing beta. IMO Xbox One has better exclusives like Forza, Sunset Overdrive, Halo, Gears of War and Project Spark. Xbox One will also be getting early access to over 100 PC indie games including Goat Simulator, Space Engineers and Super Hot.

Not being a fanboy just a tech head that I am I would be worried about getting a one unless you really like the exclusives as the esram that they have used to mitigate using the far slower ddr3 ram bottlenecks the system and makes it much harder(not impossible) for devs to achieve parity between the systems this will become apparent as we see more exclusives such as drive club, blood borne the order which won't be held back by parity and will be able to use the ps4 hardware to its full extent. Have included specs for comparison
