Even though it was more RPG than shooter, I loved the Mass Effect series. Yeah, ME3's ending left much to be desired, but the overall franchise, was awesome.
But I'm gonna say, mine was Borderlands. In a genre full of competitive multiplayer modes, it was fun and refreshing to play a coop and just run around causing mayhem with some pals! And I think it's that feel of teamwork and exploration I'm looking forward to the most with Destiny!

25 AntwortenHonestly probably Halo Reach. I think it had the best story of a Halo game combined with the great MP we came to expect from the series. I also really liked Gears of War. Halfway through last-gen I became a PS fanboy, so its nice that neither franchise is being made by their original developers. Hate Borderlands. With the exception of Halo I generally prefer 3rd-person shooters more, so the Naughty Dog games are also up near the top for me.

Halo 3. I bought my 360 for that game.

Halo : Combat Evolved Played it at at friends house. It was the whole reason I bought an Xbox. After that I went to my first midnight release for Halo 2. I even skipped school that day. Now I just bought a PS4 for the release of Destiny. I even switched shifts at work so that I can go to the release and play the next two days after.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von waltzz22: 8/8/2014 11:57:21 AMUnreal Tournament 2003 which rapidly turned into UT2004 played it for ages had a rig that could run it on "Holy Shit" settings , I keep it installed on my and my partners lappy some times when the mood hits I run a server on my machine so she and I can play on the same team against the bots. Still a fun game if you see it in a bargain bin get it the shooting is fast and tight. That map in the clip is a claustrophobic and tight map game clock runs a tad faster in it. There are bigger maps so many maps.

1 AntwortenI'm still playing my favorite game Halo jumping back and forth from Reach to CEA. There was something special about these shooters before Destiny. H3 Starry night touched on it. Bungie recently tweeted out a masterful take on it by EgoGone's fan trailer - it's exploring the skybox in search of heroic narrative that kindles your child-like playfulness. Noble Team's sacrifice won't be forgotten. Halo got way to damn nerdy, instead of keeping it simple allowing narratives to propagate; you must read a volume of books in order to understand the game. The origin of Halo represents frontier values for frontier people and those who designed them were frontier people. Games are first and foremost fun. The medium is the message, gaming hasn't caught up, but there are signs it could. Most shooters rely on gore, shock and awe, and morally objectionable things and by design are intrinsically violent and thus are conductive to vice in both players and fans. It's clear as red flame that Bungie community is one of the best in gaming. But what's different this time Bungie is paving way for lifetime game franchises while similar, more agile studios, follow suit. By the way what happened to Bungie Aerospace?

Bearbeitet von PhNx Hellfire: 8/9/2014 5:03:49 AMTo be honest, I can't name a favorite shooter. I like Borderlands, COD, Halo, Counterstrike, Planetside, Gears of War... There's just too many FPS I play and I can't pick any of them, but I will say that I prefer games which venture into the unknown territories like EVE and movies like Starship Troopers/Alphaseed. There's a lot to be learned about being a soldier before you are an officer. Something I wish all games forced down gamers throats before they could get a recognition medal. The other thing I wish FPS games did was present each emendation, once you achieved it, in a quick cutscene where officers saluted or people clapped. The higher the rank, the more people/officers present. Also, if you want a fun game to kill time on the low end PC budget? Look up conquest: frontier wars. Real time strategy mind you, but a game which will make you wish you never laid eyes on a bug... or advanced aliens too.

Halo. There are no other valid answers.

Borderlands 2, Reach, Mass Effect 3 is up there (that game was the best of the series, if you can get past the ending, and if you could save)
Mordin/Legion/Thane, they killed all the good characters except Grunt, god they made me have the feels with Mordin singing and the sacrifice. Shit I'm playing that the week leading up to Destiny.
, and Star Wars Battlefront II.
