I'm thinking about buying it for PS4, but I remember everybody whining about how broken the game was. Do any of the recent updates make it playable?

It's fine. Really all I play now that the beta is over. It doesn't crash anymore which is nice. I enjoy it but whatever you do don't buy it on a last gen console. It's like 2 different games. But on ps4 it's good
-
It's fine, least on PS4. It was pretty much the only game I played on PS4 from December through March, when pickings were slim.
-
Its just bad. Things are broken everywhere. How did they go from making a great game with Battlefield 3, but then screw up so badly with Battlefield 4? Its just really bad

Bearbeitet von Will Likely Die: 8/5/2014 7:18:29 AMBattlefield4 should be removed from the shelves Battlefield is a crappy game always has been always will be. But thats my opinion.

Bearbeitet von Meta: 8/5/2014 7:17:26 AMFor the first two months the game would crash about ten times a night on my xbox one, you would be killed around corners all the time, and there was horrible rubber banding. Now I only get killed around corners a few times a night and I feel like I can actually enjoy playing BF4. If you played the Destiny Beta though I wouldn't even bother getting it because to me no game I've played can really compare to Destiny. Also, I know it was only the beta but the fact that I had more fun with a beta than a full game says to me that Destiny is just that good of a game.

Ive not had that many issues since they patched. Still get shot behind cover sometimes. The game is still fun to play and is tiding me over until destiny

It's doing a lot better than before, and with the new hi frequency bubble update i can finally stop getting killed around corners
except in unofficial rented servers it seems :( still a fun ass game
Bf4 is no longer a true battlefield game. It doesn't have that spark anymore. They have gotten away from what BF was about. I've played it since release even with its problems. With each patch hoping it'd be the one that would finally turn it around. With each patch it would fix a couple and break twice as much. I kept with it due to no other solid FPS games on the PS4. With Destiny coming out I can't wait for a change. With that said, if you have the money buy it. It'll provide some good entertainment until Destiny comes out.
I will go in depth more later but for now I'm on my phone
At was never bad on the ps4 I I bought it day one ran smooth the whole time I played, problem is it's just bf3 with new maps and better res, just my opinion but the bf series has gone stale for me.

Bearbeitet von GnappyAssassin: 8/5/2014 12:16:14 AMShould probably be in #gaming I can speak for PS4 and 360- To answer your question, not too shabby, but still broken in less than important obvious ways. Like the fact that the post death screen works when it wants to, or that you still can't always get into a match with your friends smoothly, or that Commanders can't elect which teams to be on or choose to command a friend's game from their profile. It's all consistency problems that equate to quality of life type fixes. It's playable though.

Game is still broke. Always has been always will be.

Bearbeitet von SirCreamcorn: 8/5/2014 12:00:48 AMI would certainly pass on it. I bought it with my ps4 and played nothing but that for a long time, mostly because there wasn't a lot of other games I took interest in. I like it and i am decent at it but even so I wouldn't spend $60 on it with new games closing in. And yes the updates have brought it a long way, but I still question a lot of occurrences when I play anymore. At the most rent it to cover your downtime.

From what I've seen, it's still horrible. They've made progress though.

Net coded garbage

6 AntwortenI don't know what it was, but I couldn't play BF4 nearly as much as I played BF3. In my opinion there's nothing especially phenomenal about it so I wouldn't recommend it unless you can get it for a really low price. if you're getting Destiny then I say no for sure unless you have money to spend. I don't think there's anything in Battlefield 4 that could keep you off Destiny. I say that because Destiny is great, and BF4 just isn't that great (in my opinion).

We'll here's the thing. This game was catered to COD gamers probably more than any other battlefield game. They overhauled the controls since battlefield 3 and made all the buttons like COD when the BF3 controls were fine. Also because they added the stupid battlelog button. Moving away from that. The unlock system in this game is terrible. I thought the mass effect 3 unlock system was kind of crappy but this one blows that out of the water with their briefcase system where you have to unlock bronze, silver, and gold as well as cases specifically for stuff like certain guns. But you will get some useless items and some useful ones as they give you shit you can't even use yet because you don't have that gun unlocked. The netcode has greatly improved since launch but it is still mediocre at best. You still get shot even though you ran behind a wall, that kind of stuff. The vehicles are really different from the last game. Jets are useless now. Attack choppers are slow and clunky. I don't know. They just have bad balancing when it comes to some vehicles. There shouldn't be any balancing like the last game because real life isn't balanced. That is what made the last game challenging and fun. The last thing I will talk about (though there are many more things) are the maps. BF3 had great maps for everyone. Whether you liked infantry combat, close quarters, or vehicular warfare. In this game they have really tried to cram it in to every damn map. For example one map is entirely skyscrapers and they put jets in it. All in all the game is somewhat fun but it still needs a lot of work. EA forced DICE to push this game out with such a small window to work with compared to BF3, and now it's a total c1uster-blam!-. I think you should still buy it though. Not much else to play right now and it still has great visuals that you can enjoy even more now since they fixed the rubber banding issue. Figured I would give you a good rundown of what's been happening. The game is stunning in a general sense but compared to past battlefield games it falls short.

Not saying the post is bad but it should be in gaming not destiny.
-
Its playable if you don't mind still dying to complete and utter bullshit every other match. I died to an exploding building that was 20 feet away from me last night if that gives you an idea
-
If you played the other bf's and liked them, you probably won't like this one. I was disappointed in all the changes, just my opinion though
-
Horrible, but the only thing to play. I'm deleting after Destiny
-
Bearbeitet von RebornV3: 8/4/2014 11:17:23 PMIts still broken don't get it features that should work from day one still don't work and DICE has no intention of fixing the game anymore since BF: Hardline will be out soon I will be trading BF4 in on the 8th of September
-
Its playable but i dont even care for it anymore they waited too long to fix it

1 AntwortenBF4 is the first one in the series I've owned and it's great. I haven't experienced any problems and been playing it for 6 months on my PS4. Only complaint I have is that the DLC maps don't cycle with original maps.
