First and foremost doing things differently sometimes can cause panic at first then really turn out to be great, or you can just look really dumb and not know what your doing. This is what i see whats going on with Bungie's Destiny right now. I've came from Playstation (never owned a Halo game but or played it) and on playstation you have to admit whether is the PS 1,2, or 3 is the king of RPG's. Im not sure if Japan invented RPG's but they constantly take it to another level almost unmatched by anyone. Don't get me wrong Blizzard is in the Top 3 for RPG's in the world but I'm strictly talking about consoles here. So as I stated before Playstation is RPG heaven and no other consoles come close so i feel like an RPG veteran and i see alot of dumb decision making on Bungies behalf.
1. Fire team size is ridiculously low, this is next gen 3 was cool back in PS1 and PS2 days but we are way past that. And no the 3 Class argument does not apply here, there are not 3 classes there are 3 guardians and there are 9 classes/sub classes. This in itself is very confusing, so a class is a hunter and the sub-class is gunslinger???? So whats a guardian or is the Hunter the class and the guardian??? Either way this is not a good layout in my humble opinion, but back to the fire team 3 is just too low and 4 is industry standard for a co-op experience. Now the raids i like, but 6 being the max with other MMO's being 8 is not cool, the more the marrier.
2. No match making in Raids, WHY???? Did you not have enough time to implemented it or were you trying to be different? Don't you guys understand that some people have jobs and lives and sometimes its hard 2 get a 6 man team. Do you want us to jump in the tower and randomly start inviting people to our fire team and hope they would join??
3. D PAD being used up only for emotes?? Who thought of this??? There should be one button on the d pad that gives your options for a multitude of emotes not just 4, and the rest of the D pad buttons should be used on useful actions such as summoning your sparrow, or going to orbit, or anything else. You know im right, now i did not say eliminate the emotes just change it to one button with a drop down menu with a bunch of choices.
4.Getting booted out of a mission once its complete. I want to leave the mission when i want to not get a timer when its complete, and i would love to hold down one of the D pad buttons to go straight to orbit.
5. Friendly Fire teams should be able to switch to the same Phase. It's bad enough I have to leave out a friend to do a strike and story mission but why on explore? That makes no sense, Bungie put some damn sense back into your game.
6.PVP gear should not be usable in PVE, you should do a better job of separating the 2. I know lots of players that can't stand PVP and want no part of it but Destiny has a very heavy focus on PVP. So PVP gear should not work in PVE and vice versa. I don't mind PVP but im going to spend 80% of my time in PVE, and you guessed it 20% in PVP.
Those are a few changes in my opinion that would make Destiny a better game if you agree or disagree please do it in a orderly fashion.

8 AntwortenDestiny is a shared world shooter Bungie is making its own genre, so they get to decided what that is.

13 AntwortenBearbeitet von Mayhem1421: 8/3/2014 2:15:38 PMWait what? Everything you just mentioned has ZERO to do with anything related to RPG as a genre. Do you know what RPG even is? Sorry but Destiny is far from being a true RPG...

1 AntwortenDamn.. How many rpg/mmo have you actually played?
-
1 Antworten1,3,and 5 im a little iffy on the others but those really do need to be changed.

5 AntwortenApparently you know nothing of RPGs. Raids are not in RPGs. Raids are in MMOs. The original, good and famous raids did not have matchmaking and anyone that's played those games will tell you matchmaking killed raids. Just saying. Since you don't know the difference between mom and Rpg I don't find it necessary to read anything else you wrote.

4 AntwortenOh rook! It's experrrrrt!

1 AntwortenI agree with you 1-5. 6 I have some mixed feelings about because I liked having my own gear in PVP but some people would have some insane guns that I just couldn't compete with. Like honestly. It was annoying and I didn't enjoy playing like that. Wasn't really fair in my opinion. Also the D-pad thing.. Got to go... If anyone has played Portal 2 they would know there is a D-pad menu that in my opinion would work a lot better. Thanks for your opinion. From what I've seen your a true gent. I really respect that man. Hope to see you planet side guardian.

1 AntwortenI think you should buy the studio! You would be a great leader for Bungie!

Could this perhaps be due to the fact that Destiny is an FPS with hints of RPG and MMO to spice it up? Hmm, I wonder...
-
I am unsure how anyone could be confused by the class/subclass system. Quite a few RPGs have taken it much further with no real problem with having people understand it. If you toss in MMOs than it is pretty much a standard but with only maybe 9 options here to start with. Anyway, I think you have some ideas about the game that aren't supported by what we know. First off, this isn't really a RPG even though it is supposed to have a large epic story. It is an open world action/adventure game with said story, a FPS play style to support a fast paced feel and the thinnest of MMO back end mechanics to support fairly large scale coop gameplay and to give us a world that feels a bit more alive.

2 AntwortenPeople still think Destiny is just another common RPG? *facepalm*

4 AntwortenOh great. Another RPG elitist complaining about a lack of RPG elements in a FPS... How original.

11 AntwortenThere are 6 subclasses, the warlock, Titan and hunter are 3 different classes and you are called a guardian. Not that complicated

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Tegorian: 8/3/2014 1:38:07 PMComes from playstation claims to know RPGs. Not sure if you are serious but in case you are stop you are showing your age in a negative way. RPG spans many different types including MMOs. Destiny is a great game getting tired of some of you entitled unimaginative twits cluttering up these boards. 1. size is fine get better at the game 2. Doesn't need matchmaking get on the boards and make friends MMOs don't do matchmaking for raids and it is expected you make nice with others along the way 3.emotes to d-pad it's a console you want more options get a pc 4.just travel back outside the mission 5. Yeah see number 1 6. Gear should be usable in both makes inventory management a little easier.

I didn't bother to read all the comments but I didn't see anybody else answer your question regarding Guardians, Classes and Subclasses. Being a Guardian is our characters profession. We guard the last safe city on Earth. Our class is our designated role within the job. The Titan (warrior), The Hunter (rogue), The Warlock (wizard). Our subclass is our speciality within that role. In the Warlock's case, the AoE specialising, damage dealing Voidwalker or the supportive, damage over time Sunsinger. It might seem confusing, but it makes sense.

5 AntwortenBearbeitet von Cordic_Cyberpunk: 8/3/2014 1:16:50 PMOn #1 I agree 3 is just wrong and it makes a group feel empty. #2 is correct, people should have a choice and not forced. and lol #3 is correct, I think emotes are a waste of time on the controler period, and the D pad should be used in a way that benefits the player for combat. Not this half ass social attempt of emotes. So people dance in the Tower, its not bettering Destiny its just adding a way to waste time. Where is the trading, gambling, and all the shops in the Tower. The Tower dose not have the Bizzar ( or how ever you spell it ) that Bungie said it wold have. #4 is also correct, we need an option to go straight to our ship ( also know as the game map ). #5 I am not sure. And #6 is bang on, If all these (elitists) want pvp so bad let them get their own gear. Pvp is not the focus in Destiny. Its something to do on the side at best. So let pvp gear be separate. If those k/d people just want to live in the mind numbing world of pvp let them have their simplistic ways, with its own gear that CAN NOT be worn in PVE at all. Good Job OP.

2 AntwortenWhy does every1 try to put Destiny in a box of its an RPG, FPS, MMOFPS...etc... Let them create their own vision and if you like it great, if you don't go play something else....

12 AntwortenDestiny is not a -blam!-ing RPG you dumb kid.
-
8 AntwortenYou've obviously never played any of the newer RPGs/JRPGs FFXIV has a 4 man squad for nearly every low level dungeon and moves up to 8 only for the hard mode endgame ones, and the raids at the end of the game. Neverwinter lets you use the PVP gear pretty much everywhere, because it is obviously OP AF and some of the best early end game gear. PS1 and PS2 were the king fo JRPGs, make the difference, it's not the same thing

1 AntwortenI wished you were a troll but I agree with several of your ideas.

Bearbeitet von T65 XWing: 8/3/2014 1:23:00 PMYou might want to learn the difference between a RPG and a MMORPG before you start making yourself out to be an expert..."in my humble opinion."

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von Beamish: 8/3/2014 11:17:21 AMSorry dude as well as you've presented your argument I just dont agree with you on most of your points. I felt 3 fireteam members where about the right size considerig the size and scope of the levels and strike layouts, any more would make the experience to claustrophobic imo.

Didn't bother to read past your title, considering bungie has stated it's not an rpg, the rest of your essay is useless.

I am only going to talk to point number 6. Bungie is not on a subscription model for profit with this game. Because of that they have no reason to separate items into crafting, pve, pvp only slots. It is generally accepted that there are 5 types of players. Dividing gear in such a manner keeps roughly 3 of the 5 engaged and subscribing to your game between new content release. There is no reason a 500 defense chest plate of omg for pvp is any better then a 500 defense chest plate of gmo for pve. Separating loot into pve/pvp only gear is only needed to extend the grind time in pay to play models to keep players paying. Bungie doesn't care what you do after playing out their content, as long as you come back every 160 days to buy new content. Play it all out in 45 days, cool. Are you happy with it, great. See you in 115 days guardian. I am a collector (read horder), explorer, completionist. I will spend 6 monthes grinding for every piece of loot you offer. And grinding out all the crafting items I need to make the 20 slot bags, I can stack 20 deep for 8000 slots to carry it all. But that is the only reason for separate loot, well that and it makes your pve/pvp players rage about how they have something unique and special the other player doesn't. See you in September fellow Guardian.
