I played the Devil's Lair co-op match-made mission yesterday with a friend and a third person the game found and it took us an hour and 35 minutes to complete it, and this was on Normal. I shutter to to think what it would have been like on Hard.
I do not want match-made games that last an hour and a half and consist mostly of tedium as we fire a gazillon rounds into some giant tank thingy or some floating ball thingy trying to wear it down one bullet at a time.
Those kinds of enemies make sense for public events where there can be a dozen or more people working to take something down, but three people against such enemies is a joke.
Is there something I'm missing here? If this were not the beta and people could rank up higher than 8 would we have the firepower to take down these uber enemies in an acceptable amount of time?

1 AntwortenYou took an hour? On normal? HOW?! Damn things are easy breezy.
-
Me and one friend managed on hard mode in about half an hour, with practice you can do much better. Its all about knowing what to do when, and how to get the most damage dealt

I for one am glad that devils lair is so long. It took me an hour to complete it the first time I played it at level 6 and I was like finally a real raid like experience in a shooter! Second time around I ran with some friends and it took 20 minutes. So it's not as bad as you think it is.

4 AntwortenYou will have the ability to play the Devil's Lair on higher difficulties. Random Strike mode (going to be located near the Crucible sign in orbit): - lvl18 - lvl20 - lvl22 - lvl24 There will be weekly high-level strikes on the following difficulties: - lvl22 - lvl26 - lvl28 The Vault of Glass starts at lvl27, so there will be a plenty of hight level Devil's Lair runs.

1 AntwortenA few of us played 'legendary' difficulty in the Alpha...and it's not even the same league. Sepiks Prime is reall difficult, mostly to do with the waves of fallen captains that spawn regularly. Don't be disheartened by some of these comments. With a better team...and with more experience I'm sure you'll be speed-running the strikes in no time.

Bearbeitet von CaptKrunch: 7/26/2014 2:31:39 PMIt should take no longer than 45 minutes if you know what you're doing.

Bearbeitet von JayKillz: 7/26/2014 2:23:45 PMDon't get mad at us for mentioning that your team lacked skill and strategy. You were just ranting on that it taken you over an hour to complete the strike mission (when most of us don't struggle), what kind of replies were you expecting? If all you wanted were tips, then simply just state that you want tips on devil's lair and avoid the ranting. Now it sounded like you were under leveled and under geared. I've seen level 4s attempting to do devils lair. The key to the bosses is to output as much dps (damage per second) as possible. I prefer scout rifles because it hits hard (close to a hand cannon) and has decent magazine size, range (to eliminate vandal snipers), accuracy (to hit boss weak spots) and fire rate which helps max your dps. For the secondary weapon, go with shotgun or fusion rifle for mobbing (basically everything up to the devil walker fight) and sniper rifle for bossing. Also make sure your discipline stat is as close to 54 as possible to get max grenade cooldown reduction and keep spamming them especially on the walker (also helps max dps). For heavy weapon, go with machine gun (i chose it over rocket launcher due to the fact that you can crit with it) with high impact rate, this helps max your dps rate yet again. The more and faster you put out damage, the easier strike missions get. Hoped this helps. Now when fighting the devil walker, make sure you eliminate all the adds (additional enemies) that spawn. Make sure your team is spread out so the walker can keep rotating and also so that it doesn't kill you all at once. Pay attentionto its laser, when it points at you, get the -blam!- out the way. When the turret points at you and glows blue, get the -blam!- out the way. Unless its down, stay away from it because it will shoot bouncy grenades that can damage you greatly. Aim for the front two legs first (if your team focuses on the same leg then it will go down quicker). This is where your sniper rifle comes in handy. when it goes down and opens up, use sniper rifle (scout rifle if your out of ammo). keep doing this until it dies. Now you will always run out of ammo, so hide behind cover and let the shanks go to you so when you kill them you can loot their ammo. The servitor is really easy. Just aim for the middle all the time and be sure to get away from it when teleports to you. Pay attention when the fallen skiff spawns because it throws bombs at you.

For a starter strike. It's at just the right difficulty. I hope it gets harder.

Regarding the difficulties with the Devil's Lair Strike, Spekis Prime (Eyeball Edward) isn't a big problem only as long as you keep destroying the fallen when they respawn. In my opinion, The Devil Walker is probably the hardest part. Teamwork and strong powerful weapons are highly recommended. A good tip is to have a Sniper at the outpost when walking towards the Devil. Try and kill the Fallen Vandels first because the Snipping becomes incredibly annoying. There will be one located to the right up in a tower as well as three by the Devil. A highly recommended tip would be to stay as mobile as possibly; always look for the red laser the boss uses because if thar laser is pointed towards your direction your pretty much done for. Keep away from being to close to the Devil and you should be fine. Remember stay mobile and heal teammates if down! Hope this advice helped a bit!

Really? I managed to pretty much solo the entire Strike other than one other guy who died 17 times in the first part and ended up leaving, before the hacking made it's way to 2/3 and the other guy dcing before entering the map. Note that this was on the level 8 "hard" version. And I cleared it in 42 minutes.
-
It must be your teammates. Shouldn't take that long 3 players= constant up time on damage.
-
It wasn't that bad. Just gotta be smart with how you attack the enemies
-
You need more Precision kills, more teamwork. It's able to be done in 30 mins or less
-
Solo in 10 minutes
-
I just played it again on the Level 8 difficulty. Even with 1 of my teammates not even playing for the first part and part of the Devil's Walker part and both of them dying numerous times on the Sepiks Prime part, I still managed to complete it in about 32 minutes. It seems long the first time or two but once you learn how it plays out, it's pretty easy.
-
Solo in 50 min
-
Didn't take that long for me. I completed in under 35 minutes. Maybe your level was too low.
-
If you're having trouble you should probably ask some successful fire teams what they are doing differently. Ran it last night on level 8 with one friend and a new guy. New guy died a lot cause he didn't know what he was doing. It's just a learning curve. You don't "suck" everyone has to learn at their own rate.
-
i completed it in 35 mins with only one other person and that was on lvl 8 difficulty. You must suck!!!!!

11 AntwortenBearbeitet von Hades: 7/26/2014 11:14:57 AMOne hour and forty five minutes? What were you doing to the Walker, punching it to death?
-
Just did it on Hard in around 18 minutes.
-
Have fun with the vault of glass.
-
Takes my team a solid 45-50 minutes to do that mission. Your team just needs more practice.

I've beaten the Strike on hard like 10 times. It's really quick and easy. I don't understand how your having so much trouble.
