I'm embarrassed to be a part of this
I'm beginning to feel embarrassed to be a part of this community. I know there are A LOT of great people here, but the collection of entitled, complaining, ignorant brats is growing by the hour.
First of all, your complaints are invalid. Almost no matter what they are, they're invalid. Bungie giving us not one but TWO sneak peeks at their game for free should be viewed as nothing but awesome. The growing sound of moaning and groaning about specifics in the game, Bungie's selection of content for the beta, whether or not our items will carry over, etc. is just absurd. Does it really matter if our content will carry over? We've played for less than two weeks and we're already so in love with our loot that we can't imagine replacing it in the MONTHS and YEARS we'll be playing Destiny when it launches? Give me a break.
To come to the forums and intelligently discuss your thoughts for game balance is one thing. To come to the forums and demand that things be nerfed, gripe about the balance, complain about which classes are unstoppable, etc. is, again, absurd. We are not game designers. Your actual opinion on these topics is near invalid. The data that Bungie collects from our playtime will speak to the balance of the game - not the countless posts of people still feeling sore from their latest encounter with (ENTER class/vehicle/weapon/super HERE).
And stop fighting over which console is better. I've never understood the deep attachment. You may have picked one console over the other, but guess what - both consoles are good. Both can play Destiny. Both have very talented people behind them. The media and market experts LOVE that we feel so devoted to their products because it means we will make purchases for no other reason than our association with their brand. Unless you've worked for either of these brands, you have no reason to be as invested as you've become; to start fights with strangers, to stubbornly defend in the face of logic…really?
Have some class. That is all.

I love the ppl I play the game with I have great fun. However I come to this forum to laugh at all the ridicules views and opinions ppl have. I also find it a good place to find gamer tags to add to my ban/ignore list. And... on occasion there is a reasonable OP that actually say something useful that can improve my skill or enjoyment of this game, rarely... I also read the news updates to find out how bad it'll be afterwards, and what to expect from all the delightful side of the community.

Unfortunately I can't make decent statements because I'm an idiot, well I'm not but some feedback on here honestly are so well thought and some people even make prototypes and such which is incredible. As for the console war thing when I'm asked " hey man what console should I get" I will always reply with "whatever your mates have mate, most games aren't fun without buddies."

Every one needs to accept that there are people who like the game and don't like the game. Both sides have valid points.

[/quote] This may come as a shock, but take off your Bungie blinders for a minute and realize that people are allowed to criticize Bungie. They aren't special as far as game developers go. They're pretty buddy-buddy with their forums but they're not unique. People are allowed to voice dissent. Just because they let you in on two marketing demos for the game does not mean they like you nor does it excuse them from people judging their game. Honestly? I think Destiny is incredibly boring to play and seems to have an extreme lack of content/staying power. I'll consider buying it but only if Bungie can actually make the game look fun. If you can't deal with people like me having differing opinions you have a lot of growing up to do.

The fact that anonymity exists literally throws class out the window. Give people anonymity and they'll act like idiots. Only way to solve it, would be to use real names and EVEN then, some people literally just don't care... they'll always be self righteous pricks who complain and ask for everything under the sun. What we can at least look forward to is the fact that we can create groups and ignore people within the General Discussion section of the Forums. Also, there are a few of us on here who are the reasonable, non griping, discussion, type.

4 AntwortenI see your point, but it doesn't matter what anyone tries to say. People are going to act entitled, and people are going to bitch and moan. The concept of a beta, of an alpha even, is to test Bungie's servers, find bugs, and overall get a feel of the game before launch. People need to be reminded that this is a beta. Have fun with it. Find the issues, the glitches, the overall problems. I've already broken the game a few times, and got myself stuck to the point where I've been unable to move, and the only way I could get out was to go to Orbit or kill myself with a grenade/rocket. (Note I'm using an account not linked to this account) Why haven't I posted those yet? Because I'm compiling everything for the end. One full single post. It'll be in-depth, with images included. During the Reach beta, I did the same thing. And I found a lot of problems that were addressed between then and launch. My bug report was actually featured as a "How to properly submit a bug report" on Bungie, which was pretty awesome. People are selfish, that much is true. People are entitled. They think everything's about them. But ya know what? It's human nature. It's unfortunate, but true. During the entirety of this post, I've been attempting to join in the Iron Banner, and haven't found a single Guardian. Know why? Because of a bug in the beta. The stress test showed it was needed, because it affected Xbox Live as a whole. I can't even view my friends list right now. If someone has a problem with the game, it's perfectly fine for them to express their dislike. But to be like "I -Blam!-ing HATE THIS GAME! I KEEP GETTING KILLED BY [Insert thing]! THIS GAME SUCKS!" isn't acceptable. "I'm getting frustrated at all of the people using the Auto Rifle and the Scout Rifle. The Pulse Rifle doesn't work very well. It's rate of fire sucks, and I get outshot even if I get the drop on someone. Please consider this as a fix before the game launches, but don't make it overpowered like the Battle Rifle was in Halo." Stay classy.

XD To be fair on your first point, if you treated the alpha and beta as an alpha and a beta... then you actually did free work for them. But I generally agree. I've been trying to spread the word so I'll post it here too. Most of us on these forums are teens from 15-18 and have trouble controlling our emotions and biases, due to biology... our brains are not finished developing yet. We physically find it harder to keep control. I'm 18 so I may just be fronting, but please keep it in mind when you deal with me and my peers. And sorry for the trouble to all you elders and genuinely reasonable people.

There is a difference between slamming the company or game just to be negative and obnoxious and having a valid complaint or issue with the game or company. If you do have an issue make yourself heard without coming off like a complete ignoramus. Everyones opinion is what make the forum a forum. While some people may not agree with what your issue is it doesn't give anyone the authority to bash or slam people. The problem nowadays is people have no self restraint when having a conversation because there are no consequences behind stupid remarks. Respect people opinions and agree to disagree. If you can't find common ground but don't just blow off people for having an issue with a game or its creator. I can love this game but have criticism toward it as well. Nothing is perfect and thats cool. Its how much of the issues you can deal with before you say,"Eh, i'll pass on this."

I think they're exercising their civil liberty, they've a right to freedom of speech, don't like it? don't listen to it, ignore it, block it, don't reply to it, simple as that. The only thing embarrassing and pathetic here is a guy on the internet telling others to stop complaining. You want some class and maturity? How about you start as an example instead of crying about it like you just saw internet yesterday for the first time. Also the simple fact is, if Bungie doesn't like it, Bungie will delete it, second-hand moderation, as far as anoying/pathetic goes, is second to only caps-lock posts.

I have been in these forums for over 10 years. And nothing has changed. Even if Destiny Beta was the best game in the world and pleased everyone, People would still complain about something. Unfortunately you can't please everyone.
