Just thinking out loud here. I've read some player concerns about balancing guardian classes with only PVP in mind. Does anyone else think that this mindset will ruin the game? I thought this was Destiny. A game about survival of the lucky few chosen by the Traveller. Not Mad Max.
I'm not against PVP at all, just thinking out loud. Adding my two cents where I think it needs to be spent. Thanks for reading.

1 Antwortenthe only way pvp would ruin the game was if u had to play it to unlock the best gear but if what bungies been saying is true that shouldnt be the case so rest easy and prepare to kick alien ass
-
1 AntwortenAs long as Bungie put 90% of the focus of Destiny into the PVE/Gear/Weapons/Talents aspect I am happy. PVP should be a very small amount of the focus in Destiny.
-
The pvp reminded me of halo matchmaking. It was kind of fun
-
I was part of the Alpha and personally I think the PvP was an excellent addition. It didn't seem to take away from the experience but did quite the opposite. I think PvP will be an important part of Destiny and is done extremely well.
-
It could easily do that if Bungie is not careful. Balancing a game with shared items between PvE and PvP is tricky and can easily ruin either one or both modes. The way Bungie is doing balancing it seems like they are at least partially keeping separate item stats for the two different worlds. They are well aware of the issue and I believe they will be able to handle it. My guess is the top tier items will be twinned for Crucible and Vanguard but they will only change in name and appearance.

29 AntwortenI hate that we are calling it PvP now and not multiplayer. PvP is 1v1 multiplayer is multiplayer or MP.
-
1 AntwortenNo. If u dont like pvp, don't play it. It will only ruin it for you if you let it.
-
4 AntwortenITT: People forget this game is an RPG as much as it is an FPS and have no idea what they're saying when the PvP/PvE won't interfere with one another.

15 AntwortenNo. In case you were born within the last 2 years, Bungie is known for PvP. Yea, they make a great story campaign, but PvP is their wheelhouse. So you and all the other PvE PC/PS players that aren't used to this, grab on, cause its a fun wild ride. Your PvE is great and all, but If anything ruins anything, you'll ruin our Crucible, not the other way around.
-
No it won't, every class has their strengths and weaknesses both in pve and pvp
-
-
Actualy what i love most its the pve..the rpg aspects of the game.the strategy to take down the most dificult boss's..looking forward to coop in strikes and raids!!
-
20 AntwortenPvp is going to make the game revolutionary. Being able to grind to get the weapons and use them in pvp is what's going to make the game a "game changer". For the people that don't wanna play pvp... I don't know what is wrong with you people. Shooting AI is fun but doesn't compare with popping some heads with a sniper in the crucible.
-
9 Antwortenthere is also crucible gear that I think will be more effective in pvp as oppose to pve
-
If you've played the Alpha, you know that's not true. Weapons and armor are balanced differently in the Crucible than in the PvE areas. They act differently depending on the game mode. You'll still get to keep all of its awesome effects, but as far as DPS goes, it's not the same.
-
I think pvp gear is only there as a method to get high level gear without being forced to play the pve. Stats won't be better in pvp because its pvp gear.
-
Games will always be competitive there's no changing that. And it's not like Bungie is forcing you to play PvP there's several different modes to choose from.
-
there is weapon and armor balancing your gun that is amazing in the pve world wont be as effective in the pvp and your armor wont have the same stats in pve and pvp. so no I don't think pvp will ruin the game.
-
3 AntwortenIt will ruin the gear and weapons. It always ruins the gear and weapons. Someone is going to make it their sworn mission in life to nerf the most fun weapon, armor, or vehicle. Without fail.
-
The PVP or competitive multiplayer is balanced and a lot of fun
-
Cause FPS aren't held together by the multiplayer? Even Golden eye became known because of the multiplayer. Halo, KZ, Resistance, Crysis. None would be where they are today if not for the wait for it..... MULTIPLAYER.
-
I don't believe it will but I do have similar concerns.
-
4 AntwortenNot at all other then a to add a human VS human competitiveness to the game PvP has no other means in the game so you don't even have to play it if you don't want to. The only way anyone can say PvP will ruin the game is by making all guns and gear the same level as other players for the sake of balance which as far as I can tell is the fairest way to do it. This way there's no level gap business of those that play none stop kicking the casual players butts the only gap is the skill gap I.e the player that can spot the enemy further away draw their gun quicker and shooting first etc a much fairer gap then having a multitude of different level players weapons and gear.

PvP is a separate experience, it could be total crap and it wouldn't ruin this game. I can't see how pvp would fail so badly, it seemed decent enough.
