*EDIT* Why Call of Duty is better than Destiny
*EDIT*: After reading what you guys have been saying, I decided to go out and buy the full version of Destiny to see how this could possibly be better than CoD: Advanced Warfare. It isn't. Destiny doesn't even have a story, while AW does and AW has better reviews. EX: AW has a 9.1 from IGN while Destiny only has 7.8 and Destiny is capped at 30 FPS. How is Destiny better than AW again? Destiny also has no private matches either.
I used this as a reply in a thread, but I decided to make it a thread and improve my thinking: Call of Duty is so much better than Destiny. Just check the sales, #1 every year because it is that great. With more players than Destiny could even wish for. Plus CoD is so good that it is the #1 game for MLG, sorry Bungie/343. Plus you have FaZe and OpTiC clans giving more fame to the brand whereas Halo, Destiny and Battlefield have no recognition among the pro gamers like myself. One last thing is that CoD is more realistic and you can quickscope. #1 video game series of all time. Just look at the yearly sales.
The proof is in the pudding. More people play the franchise more than Halo and Battlefield combined, how do you think Destiny will compare? Also, CoD is well known by everybody while Destiny is known only to Bungie fans. Plus on the new generation of hardware, Sledgehammer will be able to take the graphics to a level nobody has seen before. With the feedback on the previous CoDs, they should also have the ability to make great weapon balance and great maps.
So, with the fame that CoD has and the realism it possess plus the new generation of hardware leading to better graphics, that is why Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is going to be better than Destiny. They also didn't release a beta, which shows how confident they are.

After two years I came back to say that call of duty is garbage and the only reason it's game of the year every year is because idiots like you will continue to waste their money on the same game, probably because it's familiar and doesn't require too much thinking.

I tried to like call of duty because everyone I knew played it and they said the same thing " i only got it because my friends did". And as for reviews alot of companies will pay more to have a bumped reviews especially from well known companies such as IGN ect. And yes I know Activision is publisher of destiny but alot of reviews are personal opinions of the reviewer and in no way should be considered a final grade. I'm not saying call of duty isn't good I'm just saying keeping things the same isn't the way to go and also to compare destiny to call of duty is unfair because this may be an established company but is a new franchise.

1 AntwortenLoL! The fact they didn't release a Beta isn't an indication of confidence. It is because how you said, they are an established franchise. You are comparing Destiny a game that has yet to come out to, a series of games that has been around for MANY of years. I personally think that CoD has ran it's course, and the life that the franchise once had is creeping away. The fact that Advance Warfare had to advertise a Shader from Destiny just to get some people to pre-order says A LOT! I never saw anything about Destiny giving exclusive guns for Advance Warfare if you pre-order. Destiny is a great game regardless and I will be playing it instead of CoD. One more thing. The fact that you had to add quickscoping to your argument makes you sounds so -blam!-ing stupid LOL! but anyway, I will do you a favor by never playing Advance Warfare and staying out of your Lobby. PS. I wasn't much of a Bungie fan before Destiny.

1 AntwortenCoD is more or less just the same game over and over again with some new things (story, weapons, modes, etc...) here and there, CoD probably only gets a large of it's sales just because it's well known and lots of gamers still hope for them to release something more worthwhile, and not because it's something's new and exciting, just another name slapped on the same game. Destiny is just starting and gamers from all over the world will be hearing about this from their friends and not just bungie fans because it's been advertised all over Xbox, Microsoft, Sony, etc...for almost every gamer out there with any kind of internet connection to at least hear about it. Plus CoD has been reduced mostly "under the actual mature rating age" kids (9-15 year olds) and older angry gamers who still play for who knows why because most of them know they hate playing it since they're always losing connections and dying within five seconds of spawning due to campers who are just whoring points instead of actually playing the game to unlock anything new really or anything worthwhile. Destiny is bringing out a whole new style of game that attracts gamers who play RPG's, MMO's, Shooters all together in one! In all reality, maybe you should think before you start throwing your opinions to the mass on the bungie forum itself claiming to not be a fan and make a -Blam-ing moron out of yourself In front everyone here who has been waiting for the arrival of Destiny since the idea was released until now of the game release.

Period. Call of Duty is in no way like a real battle. A real battle is cold and calculated, each move considered. A squad constantly comunnicates, coordinate movements. Everyone doesn't run off and do what they want. Whole squads don't run into choke points. Your whole "Realism" arguement is moot. Well known, yes, realistic, -blam- no. Destiny, is new, its fresh, its been well advertised.

Here is why you shouldn't be allowed to be on the Internet. And yes I realize that this is way late compared to when OP made it but I felt it needed done. 1. You are trying to compare a more MMORPG FPS to a pure Action Story FPS. That is like trying to compare Mario platforms to Zelda. You just can't pick a game and compare to your favorite. Yes I realize they are both FPS but it has 2 complete different styles. The only real similarities are a) you have guns, b) it's future based realism, and c) they have multiplayer. 2. You claim that (because it has quick scope CoD is better.) The normal guns have same aiming qualities in both games. They only thing CoD has over Destiny is that for sniping, CoD has he auto aim feature which allows quick scoping snipers to be able to hit easier when doing so. And you claim you're a pro. If you were a real pro, you wouldn't abuse this feature. That feature is the only one I disagree with because any pathetic player can learn to do it and think he is good. As well as macro remotes are so ungodly comin that it does it for you. So do not dare think you are good cause te game or remote plays for you. That's just shameful to real gamers who have skill. 3. You are trying to base things off sales. Well destiny hasn't realesed. Ghost has for months now. I played destinies beta and I saw tons of people on. Are they all gonna buy it? No. Are other people gonna buy it later? Yes. So time will show how it grows. All games start somewhere and Destiny has brought a new style of game to the world that CoD didn't imagine. 4. Other people are right. Just cause you make new stories (campaigns) doesn't mean it's not a copy paste game. CoD is literally the same every time. You get a little story, but the main part of why people buy it, is cause of multiplayer. And Zombies. But CoD is literally the same over and over with some alterations to guns. Hurray you know 1 CoD you know them all. Whereas Destiny has a whole gameplay style change to the FPS world. You get traits, gear, story dungeon and Freeroam, money for purchases, classes, and more. Again, they merged RPG into FPS. 5. Favoritism is ok and all, but don't think just cause you like it that's how it is. People are going to like destiny who don't like CoD. And vice versa (other way around if you don't know what that means.) So trying to claim "CoD is better then Destiny," is a statement tht purely shows your ineptitude to speak intelligently.
