Judging by how everyone came while mentioning how good this film is over the prequels I expected a slice of fried gold with a side of bourbon BBQ sauce, I got a lump of shit dipped in uncooked batter with a side of out of date mayonnaise.
The story takes place roughly 20 years after Elliot Skywalker went all Adam Lanza style on the Jedi, and becoming my favourite toy with a cape.
Two robots (or "drioids" as they're called in this universe) land on a desert planet after escaping from the Imperials, they have a falling out after "R2D2" tries to go look for Obi Wan and Blingbot takes a hissy fit because he can't walk on rough terrain. They both get captured by DM minions and sold off to Lukes uncle who still lives in that hole from the second movie. After pulling the security tag off R2, a message for "Obi Wan Kenobi" starts playing and Luke wonders if he is related to some guy called Ben. Luke and Gaybot try to find R2 after he f*cks off to find Obi Wan, but end up getting mugged by "sandpeople". They are saved by Old Ben who takes them back to his house. Ben reveals that he is Obi Wan and that the human dildo killed Lukes father (lying bastard), they talk about the Jedi and the message from the princess, Obi Wan wants Luke to tag along but Luke can't due to his uncle being a dick.
Luke rushes back to his farm house to find his uncle and aunt lying there like they where on the menu at a cannibals BBQ, Obi Wan tells Luke to get over it and they decide to skip away together on that mission they talked about. They arrive in this universes #OffTopic where they meet Han Solo and his pet monkey. After they work out a deal, Obi and Luke leave to meet him at the docking bay while a debt collector called Greedo tries to shake down Han for money he owes Jabba, Greedo shoots first but misses and takes a laser to the face. They all escape after some storm troopers try to arrest them.
Back in space the deathstar blows up a planet because the princess wont give up the location of a terror cell and "Millennium Falcon" gets captured. They decide while they're there they could go rescue the princess, Luke because he's a white knight and Han because he's Jewish. Shit happens, then Darth Vader finally kills Obi Wan while the rest escape.
They then f*ck off to some other planet, join the terro- I mean "rebels" and blow up the deathstar. The end.
All in all I didn't care much for it, sure it didn't have overly childish humour and the acting wasn't as bad but it was still nothing worth writing home about. The way everyone was praising this film I thought it would actually be good, being "better than" =/= "good". I'm actually surprised they managed to make two more sequels and 3 prequels from this thing.

Bearbeitet von Cheesy: 5/30/2014 12:38:31 AMHan shot first, watch the video for proof. Stop being so ignorant about why people think it's such a great movie. You don't seem to understand what the era (1970s) was like in terms of culture and movies, nor do you understand how absolutely revolutionary this movie was for the film industry from that point in time and on. Also
OP doesn't understand that 70's cinema was a wasteland filled with Richard Dreyfuss movies. StarWars was a gem of the light fantastic adrift in "bleh" at the time for obvious reasons if you had to sit through "Good Bye Girl."
Also
Han shot first. Also you don't know what good movies are. Star Wars was revolutionary in 76 because of the effects, sounds and the fact that young men all around the world related to Luke Skywalker in this classic archetype story that takes place in -blam!-ING SPACE
Also
>Greedo shot first >OP only saw the remastered version LOL
Well that movie was made before you were even a thought, so think about how cool that was when it first came out

Your opinion is wrong.
