Bungie, I'am concerned about just how 'competitive' your multi-player for Destiny is going to be. I was a huge fan of all of that you have done recently because there was always a level playing field relying on map knowledge, teamwork, the skill with the guns you are given and then using this all to contest key points on the map. Just how 'competitive' can it be if the level playing field is warped by having so many different factors involved such as a armour and weapons brought in from 'The Wild'. By all means Destiny will be my favourite game and the most fun i've had in some time, but i fear that i will only be experiencing a mere reflection of the incredibly competitive environments created in your recent games that i yearn for. Write me an essay! =)

    Halo was built on the old-school principle of "Perfect Balance". Nothing changes. Everything is static. Destiny is built on the modern day principle of "Imperfect Balance". The idea that there is a checks and balances system of counter moves and counter plays. An ebbing and flowing game of rock, paper, scissors where the player's logic and understanding grows. Changing the meta game over time. Everything has a counter, everything has some mechanic that keeps it in check, but first requires the player to learn and understand it. Build a knowledge base and be observant of patterns. They are fundamentally two very different ideas of how to balance a sandbox. Since Destiny is built from the ground up this way. It works. However, you could never introduce these mechanics into Halo. It would [i]that[/i] game.
