43 Antworten-Because white people weren't sold and used as slaves in "the land of the free." -Because white people weren't oppressed and suppressed for decades after being made free. -Because white people weren't beaten, lynched, shot at, sprayed at with fire hoses, or attacked with dogs for daring to be equal. -Because for the other 11 months of the year, the normal history that is taught is white history. -Because even after all that, even with how far we've come since those days, we still have racism.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von ShaughnTr0n: 5/15/2014 8:06:52 AMI would personally like to see a history month of every skin color and ethnicity out there. It would certainly promote tolerance of other cultures and maybe in the long term help get rid of actual racism. Then it's fair for everybody too.

Because there aren't enough months to celebrate every single thing on Earth. First we take white males, then we take apes, then we take bananas, and BOOM! We celebrate cells.

Bearbeitet von Draevynn95: 5/15/2014 8:32:30 AMRemember the Romans and the Greek? Yeah they owned eachother. Whites have even enslaved whites before... Pretty much just a human nature kind of thing in general. That was just their way of life. Times have changed. Now most of the racism that exists in America is channeled in the form of White Knighting (No pun intended) the very people supposedly claimed to be equal. Like they are children or are somehow inferior. All of this focus on the color of someone's skin, even with good intentions, just perpetuates a different type of racism born from the very good intentions that attempted to stop it. All that this proves is that nobody is "Helping" them like they think they are. So, while not necessary, it shouldn't be a huge problem to have a white history month. Equality, right?

4 AntwortenEver heard of U.S. history? It's practically all white history.

American Buffalo Month?

Native American Month?

Because it's a type of segregation.

I don't see the reason to have history months for any group. Like honestly, wtf is the point and who the fck actually pays attention anyway?...
-
Because all of Americas history involves white people, other than the civil war, so we have 11 months while they have one
-
Ok, so do you want a history month for every ethnicity? That would just be weird. Would that even work? Would we then have a biracial history month? Would we end up with a history month for everything? Would we have to change the calendar system so that we have a year lasting thousands of years with a history month for shoes, bacon, clouds, and bad b.net ideas?

1 AntwortenOrrr we stop dedicating months to shit like gender and the color of ones skin. Just a thought.

5 AntwortenBearbeitet von Halo2isduhBest: 5/15/2014 12:41:47 AMHave you guys ever noticed that much of the stuff they teach for black history is false? For example, a few black guys I know were trying to tell me that the light bulb and the traffic light were invented by black men and that they learned that in their history class for black history month. Then I looked it up online and seen a whole bunch of Afrocentric websites stating the same thing. Of course the light bulb is Thomas Edison and the Traffic light is JP knights both white men so why would people especially schools be passing around this false information?

Bearbeitet von Halo2isduhBest: 5/15/2014 12:33:53 AMBecause everyday is white history. White people have the most glorious history in the world. No way you could fit it all into a month. Just look at the white History for May 15 alone: 1796 English physician Edward Jenner gives the first successful smallpox vaccination. 1804 Explorer William Clark sets off from St. Louis, Missouri. 1897 Guglielmo Marconi sends first communication by wireless telegraph. 1973 The U.S. space station Skylab is launched.
