New Melee Weapon!
[u]EDIT: Information from the alpha proved that this is purely cosmetic. Still gives for an interesting read though.[/u]
While analyzing some screenshots here on Bungie.net I encountered an anomaly.

See that black object along the Titan's thigh? At first I though it was an edit made to cover up a sheathe for a sword due to it's apparent lack of texture, color, and shape. But then, upon seeing it from a different angle I realized that it was a melee weapon, just not a sword.

So not only does this make me wonder if this is one of the options for melee weapons in the game, but it makes me wonder if knives and blades aren't the only thing around. Hell, pick up a rock and bludgeon someone! [i]We're SPACE COPS NOW[/i]
So tell me, do you think swords are the only option for large melee? Or do you think that this nightstick is an actual, useful object and not a cosmetic item? Is it an ability based weapon like the throwing knife? Do we get free handcuffs?

Perssonally, the more different weapons in the game, the more happy i get. I love mellee weapons. :) Knife, swords, sticks, throwing axe, all would be awesomes. But i would also like explosives. "Space C4" would be tons of fun for me. :P you carefully infiltrate behind the enemy and place a couple at some strategic points before backing out to your sniper spot, undetected, ready to start the fireworks to cover your shots. I was just doing that recently in farcry 3 to secure an outpost, and i couldnt help but to think about venus jungles. Probably the place im the most curious about in Destiny. I just hope there will be no space crocodiles or any space tiger. :P Time travelling robots are probably enough to deal with, i dont think they need the help of alien worlds fauna...
