I understood it fine without reading any supplemental material.
Halo 4 actually has more story with its story driven campaign than Bungie's Halo games.
The terminals from Halo 4 are enough for you to understand what's happening if you didn't work it out already by playing the game.

The terminals can only be watched once found, quitting the game and entering in Waypoint, so it's not easy. I'll give you some example of what I haven't (initially) understood: why the Covenants are attacking us again, what are the Pets of the Librarian, what is the Mantle (these two can be guessed, but it's not immediate), the entire cutscene where Master Chief is mutated, and how Master Chief saves him in the end (and this is still discussed).
why the Covenants are attacking us again
Storm Covenant. A group that splintered away from the main Covenant.
what are the Pets of the Librarian,
Humanity.
what is the Mantle
It's a Forerunner philosophy. Protectors of life and planetary systems within their domain.
the entire cutscene where Master Chief is mutated
The Librarian accelerated his evolution.
and how Master Chief saves him in the end (and this is still discussed).
How master Chief saves who?

Is any of these explained in the game (exclude terminals). Now I know these things, but while you play how do you understand? The last one is "How does Master Chief save himself."

Bearbeitet von BritLemon: 3/7/2014 11:17:12 PMThey're not heavily explained. But it's there.
The last one is "How does Master Chief save himself."
Cortana saved him.

I think that they are not explained at all. If you want you cant link me a video with the exact quote in which the explanation is. Yes, but how does it save him?

Bearbeitet von BritLemon: 3/7/2014 11:25:28 PMLike I said, they don't explain thoroughly on these. Just like Bungie did with their games. I'm on the app, so linking every exact quite will be difficult as my iPod sucks shit a d is glitchy. Cortana saves him using the transportation/teleportation grid.

Yeah, but the plot's details that Bungie omissed aren't fundamental, while in Halo 4 are fundamental. What I want to say is that is an absurdity to say that the campaign in Halo 4 is much more well done than the other Halo games, because if we really look with attention, we can find a lot more negative elements in Halo 4. Don't worry, link me the quotes when you're at home. Yes, but is it explained?
