I treat it as how I would personally react to the situation. Sometimes you have to do what's right, some people will get what's coming to them, and more often than not the prize at the end of the rainbow is the only thing that drives you.

I believe that Bungie addressed this at the GDC, basically all Guardians are helping humanity, but you won't be a perfect person (unless you want to be).
