This community has shifted.
People are starting to praise Reach, and hate H2...it happened so fast. Hopefully people don't hate every Halo, by the time I am done typing this message. It is extremely possible afterall.

I love Halo 2, it's probably was my favourite.

I liked Reach and I liked Halo 2. But get beaten over the head for three years about the good old days and you start to resent them. Throw on XBL being a cess pit of foulness, cheating, and unsportmanship and it becomes about games that center around individual survival abilities or tools for players so lone wolfing and less communication is viable. People want AAs, space magic, giant mechs, and load outs because that's the crutch for not having teammates you can rely on to fill those gaps against other humans. Someone made a troll thread about Halo being turned into a RPG and truth be said that would be fine for me and the franchise as a whole. I could live with if it was elder scrolls in space. I'm heading back to Skyrim over Battlefield3, Halo 3, or Reach. Because I get to enjoy the lore, the world, and I'm not angry coming out of the game when I turn it off. That's it's strength. It's still on the top played list while other FPS titles have to release new title after new title to keep players engaged. Skyrim would jump right back up to the top 5 played if Bethesda released another DLC instead of ESO. That wouldn't be a bad fate for Halo if it kept the fan base engaged and in the universe instead of jaded and unhappy with each new release.

1 AntwortenI only played Halo 2 for a few months before Halo 3 came out, I was only 10 so I also didn't start playing CE till about a year before on PC. God damn man, Halo 2 was -blam!-ing awesome. I still play it sometimes (outskirts is best level).

Hell, I wish it was still online I'd be playing it every day. Now reach wasn't terrible. At first it was but the NSZB reach was great IMO. I can remember hopping on B.net every day just to check the H2 leaderboards.

Its more like this: Halo Reach sucks, Halo 3 is better Halo 4 sucks, Halo 3 is better But since the hate trains have died down I don't see much of anything anymore, half the time people are joking when they say Halo 2 sucks because they know it pisses people off.

I liked Halo 2 Halo Reach was okay Halo 4 was I think where Halo "officially" jumped the shark

Enough time has passed that people are starting to realize they [i]may[/i] have prematurely jumped on the Reach hate-train. Because that was the thing to do back then. That's it. It has nothing to do with H2.

9 AntwortenMost Halo 2 era people are no longer here. The Reach era people are still hanging around. That is all. By no means does that mean that Reach is even in the same league as Halo 2 (or CE, or 3).

There have always been people that hated Halo 2 ever since the day it released. Nothing new here.
