Yeah, I knew that. And an academic being a socialist isn't all that surprising. If you look at some of the non-market based economic theories that roughly fall under socialism, they're essentially big math problems. Production, labour, consumption, etc, are all variables that can be controlled in these cases, as opposed to capitalist systems, where all of this is essentially random. Obviously, that's going to make sense to someone with a math background.

He was an intelligent theoretical physicist, what would he know about politics? Even his greatest work turned out to be wrong. Socialism isn't bad because "Murica!" like many of the Socialists on here would say ([i]hint hint[/i]). Socialism is bad because [i]it's just plain bad[/i].

So? He was born in Germany in the mid 20th century and left because he was a Jew. It's not like that's unexpected. Plus he's a physicist. I don't expect physicists to be on par with someone like Adam smith in regards to economics.
