Will we, the fans, ever get our hands on a version of Grognok?
Can any bungie employees give me a vague answer to this question?

2 AntwortenJust in case some bnet users aren't aware of what Grognok is :-)

Sorry if I sound silly I'm not an expert on this but would the new consoles be able to handle it? I know we had forge in Halo but this seem to be a lot bigger and complicated, looking at the footage of Grognok it likes like a program that would be used on a PC.

I doubt it. If they did, it would probably have to stay on the PC like the creation kit with Skyrim.

1 AntwortenI swear I made a post about this once.

That would be awesome to mess with.

1 AntwortenIt would be cool to make competitive multiplayer maps but I doubt it would work in campaign multiplayer or not. The world is too dynamic. But how would we use it on a console? Maybe using it on PC then uploading it onto the game.

1 AntwortenI can tell you an educated guess whilst you wait for a bungie employee. Grognok look like it's a fantastic world builder engine however, in game the likelihood of us getting to manipulate anything with it will be very slim. So in game probably not. However outside of the game, it is a very high tech engine that was developed in house for the specific job of destiny. It is very powerful and if they are willing to sell licenses of it to other game development companies it could possibly come on the open market. So theoretically yes you may be able to use it but you would have to pay for it. I'm not sure if it will come on the open market but if it does you could buy it if you want to. Maybe it could come up a bit like the Cry Engine and people could buy it to make indie titles. So in truth I don't know, however the likelihood of it in game is super slim, of course maybe a sort of Grognok 0.5 for custom maps however I'm almost certain we will not have custom maps other than multiplayer ones. If it's a map editor then I'd expect more expansive version of a forge rather than a Grognok 0.5. I would love to be proven wrong though.
