Bearbeitet von MayhemElectric: 10/17/2013 4:22:13 AMSuch a small percentage of gamers, such as followers or fans of specific companies, follow developer blogs or read forums. Or even watch E3 for that matter. There are many gamers that have played Halo that couldn't name Bungie as the developer. Once the mass marketing for Destiny kicks in closer to release, more and more gamers will be exposed. Sure we are hyped now, just wait until the masses find out. I believe Destiny will preform very well for PS4 as well as Xbox One.

There isn't all that much hype because Bungie hasn't really shown anything. They showed beautiful scenery, but their gameplay shown was by no means extensive, very explanatory, or revolutionary. So I'm torn between wanting things to be a surprise but wanting Bungie to actually wow us with the actual gameplay rather than with concepts and artwork and music which I already know to be top of the line.

3 AntwortenI think it'll do good once more info is revealed and Activision puts it's dollars into marketing. I see a lot of criticism for this game on places like ign, but I also see a lot of people who are extremely uninformed as to just what Destiny is. I was never a big halo fan, playing them now, and they're enjoyable but I think a lot of Halos hype was the competitive mp which I don't really care for. However Destiny is my#1 most anticipated game next gen. Even more so than ME4, and the Mass Effect trilogy was my favorite series last gen. With all Destiny has to offer from coop to competitive mp to raids and public events I think it has the potential to appeal to quite a large audience for different reasons.

1 AntwortenWatchdogs lost hype because of the delay, and Titanfall is Xbox One only, where Destiny is multiplat.

1 AntwortenBungie can get good sales just because they are the developer of Halo.

3 Antwortendon't worry, the hype will become insane probably before even spring of next year. Everybody will be telling their friends about the beta, bungie won't have as much to hide, and of course, they'll probably do a big marketing campaign for even more hype just before it releases. This is bungie we're talking about.

2 AntwortenI'm surprised this thread isn't getting panned within 3 minutes of posting, but I'll bite. Believe it or not Bungie has pretty big rep. Combined with being backed up with Activision and their enormous track record their name alone is probably what will draw in a lot of former and current Halo fans. The thing with Destiny is that the game isn't set to release until next year or so; Bungie's been low-key about the whole game for a while now, dropping only vague descriptions, names, screenshots, etc. We've got only two or so videos which actually feature a lot of gameplay. My guess is that they don't want to market or hype a game too early, otherwise people who had only recently heard of the game via said marketing will lose interests. Titanfall and Watchdogs on the other hand have been getting an admirable amount of coverage. Watchdogs, despite originally being a PS4 launch title, is now being rescheduled to a later date. Marketing is a very key figuring in game sales. As much as we'd like to think this game is going to be the be all end all if another company who we knew nothing about was trying to pull the shtick Bungie was doing then people would probably write it off as shovel ware, but since it's Big B here then we have hope. They need to play their cards right if they want to make numbers when 2014 comes around the corner, while still keeping a tight community.

1 AntwortenTrust me. The gamers are watching. Just not drooling over it in the forums like we are.
