I am, but I think they could have been a lot better. They meet the standard, but that's it. Hopefully they will be more innovative with the next next-gen consoles.

Haven't played either of them yet, so I can't say for sure. They've got some pretty cool things going for them, though. Hopefully the Xbox One still has a big focus on its cloud computing, even with their reversals on the always-online policies.

Indifferent really - enough so that I have little excitement for them. Power is really meaningless when everything MS/Sony could throw together would be outclassed by a PC. Valve's crazy haptic based controller and the Oculus rift both present more interesting technological gaming innovations than the simple refinement of gamepads and auxillary cameras/sensors. Gamewise, I don't know what to say really. Killzone meets personal expectation for a nextgen visuals. But the gameplay seems like the same rehashed mechanics we've known since CoD4. Then I read the stories about how many developers are sticking to native 720p and wonder further what the excitement is about.

Yes and no. The power of the cloud will be a great thing. But I believe both systems could have done better hardware wise.
-
No, I was hoping for more of a hardware bump, but it was pretty obvious that MS and Sony would go the APU route. Nintendo's really slid back too, with the Wii U just finally capable of HD gaming and still behind on their online system. But at the rate graphics hardware is advancing, all three are going to be unfathomably obsolete only a little ways into their life cycle. They practically are now. This generation is going to be won or lost on the quality of each makers' online service. Graphically, all three consoles are going to be tapped out much more quickly than this gen was.

Yes. I can't wait to get a PS4.

2 AntwortenI'm happy with my X1 pre-order. I liked it more before the 180 tho'
-
Realistically? No. They are barely capable of running games in 1080 / 60 fps, which has been a staple set up for PC gaming for years now. Hardly "next gen" in terms of hardware at all. That being said, it comes down to how the games measure up, and I would love to get a PS4 in a bit to play glorious Japanese vidya that I don't get on my PC.
-
I think they have good potential but I just don't see any need to get one within the next 12 months or so. Pretty much all the games I want to play are available on 360.
-
We can not always get what we want and ask TREVOR I AM SURE HE WOULD LOVE TO ANSWER THAT QUESTION

Im happy with my xbox 360 thats the second one right? Well firstly the name of the xbox is confusing as hell I can see where they're coming from but still the names sequentially make no -blam!-ing sense like seriously: Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One !!! I mean come one stick to something please Microsoft. Also i probably wont be getting it for a while anyways so :(
-
Am I happy with them? Yes. Could I be happier with them? Also yes.

I'm somewhat disappointed, but oh well.

5 AntwortenAm i missing something? Op is taking a poll on whether or not we are happy with next gen, all the comments are on violent games....is the forum brake again?

Who cares? What do you not like about violence? It doesn't drive you insane or anything.

Mario, Minecraft, and Project Spark all have violence. Yes, it's very mild cartoonish violence, but it is violence nonetheless. But I believe there are some awesome games that don't have violence, like Fruit Ninja for example, and even then it's debatable that it has violence because you are slicing fruits with a sword.
