In the First World War, Germany single-handedly defeated Russia and was on the verge of beating France as well (after which Britain would be open to invasion) when the United States intervened and defeated Germany. Even before then, the United States was the world's largest economy by far and American goods (which were mostly shipped to Britain and France rather than Germany) were what even kept Germany from winning even earlier on.
By the Second World War, the United States still had the largest economy (by a factor of 2-3 times larger than the second largest, that of Germany). Again, the US industrial machine kept Britain and its allies on a lifeline. Even then, Germany swept through all of Europe and bombed to hell Britain. Germany almost certainly could have invaded and conquered Britain, what with its multimillion strong armed forces compared to Britain's mere few hundred thousand, but it chose not to waste troops on a tiny insignificant nation especially when the Communist Soviet Union threatened Germany with invasion from the east. Germany, being a capitalist nation, saw the Communists as the larger threat, but the dull-minded British could not get their puny minds around the situation and continued to bomb and sabotage German operations, resulting in what we know today as the Cold War and the separation of Europe by an Iron Curtain. You can thank the British for all of that. Don't argue with me and say that Britain could have defended against the Germans; by the end of WWII, over 20 million Germans had served in the military, while a mere 3.5 million British had fought in the armed forces. Germany also had superior training and equipment, on top of its numerical advantage, and a vastly larger economy to support it. Even the weaker German divisions left to defend the Atlantic Wall were able to inflict greater casualties on the Western Allies than they suffered losses.
So all of you prideful British queers can shut the hell up and haul your dull heads out of your asses. You did not win either of the world wars. America and Russia did.

Funny how you took the time to write all that, considering I didn't read it.

8 AntwortenGermany lost because Hitler never played the board game Risk. Everyone who plays Risk knows, you don't expand fast which causes your troops to thin. You will lose every time.

America did it for their own reasons, they couldn't give a flying ef about europe.

Wait, no, OP Germany wasn't Capitalist. There has been much debate concerning exactly what it was (mostly because supporters of the different systems would die before allowing people to associate their beliefs with those of the Näzis), but it wasn't regular capitalism. If anything overall, the Näzis were Fascists, which still gives them reason to hate communism (IIRC there were concentration camps for German communists), but gives capitalist democracies reason to help the commies

Wait Germany beat Russia... How so?

4 AntwortenI don´t understand how people can say Russia was the star of WWII. They would have gotten curbstomped were it not for the rediculous amounts of supplies the US was sending their way. Apart from the fact that the US was literally fighting the war on three fronts (Pacific, West Europe and North Africa-Italy) with greater forces in all except perhaps North Africa, which was all the British. So, the US was supplying basically all of the allies (Russia and UK would have caved in were it not for the convoys of supplies), while almost fighting in the Pacific solo, and then fighting in Italy and West Europe. I understand that Russia deserves credit because definitely do, but they only won thanks to their recklessness in throwing troops into the meatgrinder until they eventually won and because of the US supplies until they were able to fight off the German offensive and go on the attack themselves. Had the US not entered the war, Russia would have been on a two front war with Germany on one side and Japan on the other. Granted Japan blew against Russia, but they would still have to commit forces in the East just in case. UK was basically trapped on the island barely being able to do anything, except in North Africa which was not as serious for Germany as the Eastern Front was. UK was pretty much totally subdued and would have eventually gotten invaded and curbstomped as well. Even without Japan, I´d argue that Germany could have taken on Russia and won while keeping UK controlled.

Brits created the Cold War, so we have that to thank them for.

6 AntwortenWell really, there are only two reasons Germany lost in WWII. Firstly, Hitler was a bit of a retard and refused to listen to his advisors about what to do next. These advisors knew their shit and knew what the best next move would be. Hitler, however, was a stubborn bastard and thought himself to be a great strategist when he really wasn't. This resulted in a lot of mistakes that obvioulsy helped them to lose the war. Secondly, Russia. Stalin was just going to keep throwing troops towards the -godwinslaw!- until they caved in, no matter how long it would take. It was just helpful that Britain, France and the US were advancing the West and so Germany had to fight a war on two fronts. However, I'd argue Russia could have won without that advantage. Russia lost way way way more troops than the UK and the US and so towards/at the end of the war felt entitled to more reperations during the Potsdam and Yalta conferences. US was helpful to the European allies, yes. But Russia was the star. And how the hell did Britain cause the Cold War exactly? The US caused that shit

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von Twitchyloner: 9/29/2013 2:56:39 PMDisagreed. The Germans lost because the British knocked out their supply lines and at the time of these attacks, the british navy was still fair more advanced. The Americans hardly contributed to the war, they were only souly their as a mental tactic against the Germans, weaking their morale. However Wilson's 14 points and the involvement of the allied powers was a very good move, and he was beyond his time. But the ignorance of the Europeans towards someone who wasn't in europe, Wilson didn't get that much to say. Which lend to the 'Treaty of Versaillies' in which Wilson, Clemençeau, and George made the Peace treaty for Germany, which lend to humlaiting them for casuing the war, which was true.. as the new government of German felt that they shouldn't take the blame for starting the war, as It was brewing Over Russia and Austria-Hungarian and ultaimailty Britiain declaring war on Germany aswell. Which lend to WW2, alot of pissed of Germans were the result of the 'Treaty Of Vers', that cost thousands of lives.
thank-you for recalling this info, Im doing a exam on WW1 in 2 weeks.
4 AntwortenActually Germany already kicked our ass. London was in ruins. So thanks for nothing America!
-
And Germany would have kicked our asses without the help of our allies. And though I realize this is just another in the long line of "Look at me!" posts you'll make today; It's time for all allied countries to pull our heads from our asses and realize that we depend on each other, as brothers and sisters, to have each others backs in times of desperation.

Germany only had about 40 canoes with which to invade Britain. Their complete lack of naval power is what saved the British, as well as their failure to gain control of the skies during 1940.
