I'm struggling with this decision.
I was planning to play Destiny on my trusty 360, but it seems like the game will be too advanced for it.
I would've automatically gone for the PS4, as its cheaper and looks better, but Im still a halo fanboy and the new halo looks interesting to say the least, so Ill give it a chance.
So, which one do you guys think has the better hardware and value for Destiny?

If you can, Xbox One
-
Xbone has better software, ps4 has better hardware, but both companies are greedy little -blam!-s. In my opinion they will both pretty much be the same. PC is the best choice in terms of software/hardware but I'll probably play on console.

Xbox one

Bearbeitet von The Prophet: 8/13/2013 3:34:58 AMim pretty sure they said wont really matter the hardware, but if you want something cheap thats still good, less cost with exclusive content then go ps4. im going ps4 cause of more reasons

9 AntwortenXbox one has worse hardware...as much as you want it to be better, it's not. 3 operating systems running at once eats so much ram, not to mention it's more antiquated ram compared to ps4's. ps4 has one operating system...so how do you figure. Also the ps4 has a jaguar 8 core CPU, better than xbox's. ps4 pools computing power to the gpu or graphics processing unit, from that CPU giving the ps4 more tflops of graphics potential. The Xbox doesn't pool that CPU and gpu power. Also, before you say cloud power, the cloud computing isn't advanced enough to make a difference yet

1 AntwortenDestiny will play great on all platforms.

1 AntwortenAny. Console wars suck. If you don't care much about graphics, I'd go for a current-gen version. Bungie confirmed that the textures won't be as grand and there won't be as much foliage, but that doesn't bother me. I personally won't be buying a next-gen system until I have incentive to, cause all of my most anticipated games are coming out this-gen. If you think realistically, there are some pretty good looking console games out there right now. It's not like it'll have N64 graphics.

Bearbeitet von Shadow Iz Me: 8/13/2013 1:27:18 AMUmm, I'm biased to say the least but I'll enter this with complete ambiguity. There is essentially no need to buy a new console JUST for Destiny because the only thing that will on the new consoles that the Xbox 360 won't have is better graphics. Bungie made sure that it was viable on both platforms and specifically said that the only advancements on the new consoles are cosmetic. Both platforms will have clothing that reacts to physics and everything, just better textures and probably faster framerate on new consoles. So now moving on to the better between either next-gen console, where I'm biased towards the PS4, but will still be honest either way. For the Destiny coming out in 2014, there will most likely be no difference in actual textures between games, but we might see the PS4 frame rate drop less in demanding situations. That's probably the only difference in hardware, until Bungie says otherwise. Not a deal breaker really. I'm not going to speculate on what the Bungie-Sony partnership could mean in the future, but we have been given information on what the exclusive content for PS3 and PS4 is that we know about right now. They said on the stage it is "playable" content. That probably means an actual map or area that could come with extra gear and weapons exclusive to Sony consoles. That's all we've been given right now, but we'll find out more about what each console will take from Destiny possibly at Gamescon in 10 days, or closer to release. Bias aside really, looking at hard facts, the PS4 will have extra content and better hardware to make sure the Destiny experience is as good as it can be.

5 AntwortenI went through this a month ago. In the end I gave up on Halo and pre ordered the PS4. Halo just isn't worth it any more in my mind. If you do end up going with the Xbox One though I'd recommend waiting and get Destiny for the 360. There is inevitably going to be a cheaper Kinectless Xbox in 2014. Might as well save $100.

2 AntwortenConsidering Destiny won't be out before March 2014 as far as we know, and more likely mid-late 2014, I think I'm going to stick with my 360 until about March time and then upgrade to a next-gen console, because I do want to play Destiny on a next-gen system, and while I was going to buy a PS4, I think I want to wait a while and let all those teething problems get out the way, see which console has the largest community, see which one runs better in real world conditions.

For solely Destiny, I am leaning towards PS4, just for exclusive content. But honestly, go with the console that fits your situation.
-
Well, since you're wanting to play the new upcoming Halo, i'd go for the Xbox One.
-
17 AntwortenIn theory, by absolute PURE hardware, Xbox one, since Sony announced there was 1 less stick of RAM than the XOne. That plus its a Bungie game. For me it would be sacrilege to NOT play one of their games on an Xbox.
-
4 AntwortenFor what youre saying there, i'd go with xbox obe
-
I'm always sticking with xbox
-
Trusty ol 360. I would get it on Xbox One because I'm more used to the controller if I had to choose but I'm getting it for both.

Bearbeitet von DigiOps: 8/12/2013 3:34:43 AMWell... the PS4 is getting exclusive "playable" content. What that is, no one knows. The playable part makes me think its not a skin or a few exclusive weapons, but that's just me. I'm sure others will disagree. Hopefully the Xbox One gets exclusive content of equal value, but if it was I'd imagine it would have been announced at the same time. Its not too late, though. There's still plenty of time before launch. That said, don't base your next gen console purchase on how Destiny will perform. At best, Destiny may load a little faster on the PS4 and that's coming from a Playstation fan. The hardware is close to identical. Base it on exclusives, where your friends will be playing, and what you're the most comfortable with. All my friends game on Playstation platforms or both and prefer Sony. The PS4 is the obvious choice for my group. We're all excited to play the exclusives at launch, especially Killzone: Shadow Fall. You may be having similar feelings towards the new Halo title with your friends. If you really want to go with the PS4, do some objective research on both consoles. Avoid YouTube unless you're looking for something specific or it comes from Microsoft or Sony directly. Even then, I have a feeling both companies are fluffing the truth a bit.
-
Ps4 and Xbox one will probably be almost identical. The only difference will be Ps4 is currently getting some unknown exclusive content, which will probably be something minor, but who knows. I am personally getting a Ps4, but respect whatever console you are getting. ..there we go everyone, was that so hard?
-
2 Antworteni cant see why you think the next halo looks good if you haven't even seen gameplay, the ps4 will be good for what its for, and will play destiny better compared to the Xbox360, but should be similar to the one. do your research and choose what exclusives you like. think about it this way, decide what things on both console you dont like, and weigh them against each other. then do the same thing for what you do like about each console and follow suit, for me the ps4 won in the long run, but that's just me, the ps4 feels better than the Xbox one in my opinion and most of my friends will get it over the Xbone

2 AntwortenDo your own research. Do not listen to the petty fanboys on this forum.
Console War skirmish imminent
I am going to wait for both next-gen consoles and Destiny to come out to decide if upgrading is worth it But since you said you were still a Halo fan, then go with X1 methinks
-
Just play it on what you want in consoles not everyone else both consoles get same things anyways just ps4 with some a little early
