And Sony said that the PS4 only uses 1GB leaving 7 for devs...wow. I like Sony and all, but lying to get the upper hand is not the right way to do things.
-
1 AntwortenLol Sony with their misinformation and lies throughout the entire PS4 campaign.
-
3 AntwortenI don't think they came out and straight up said that. It was mostly just assumptions everyone was making; it still hasn't been clarified yet with hard facts just assumptions.
-
I knew the were lying. Now its confirmed
-
5 AntwortenBearbeitet von Failure4Life: 7/26/2013 11:05:54 PMStill don't know which console to get... The Xbox, is $100 more expensive, Gold isn't as good as PS+, and has a Kinect I'll never use. But it also has ALL of my friends on it and a better controller. The PS4 is cheaper, has better exclusives and is a better value, but I'll have to start from scratch; not to mention if the triggers on the controller are ANYTHING similar to the PS3 I will hate it forever. I hate being indecisive. Earlier I was so dead set on the PS4 but now the choice is hard.

I read this article on Game Informer as well, the source for this information is speculative and unconfirmed. If it is true, more power to them but they have an unverified source for this.
-
22 AntwortenWhat's that? Sony caught in another lie? Hmmm, looks like Microsoft has been the most honest so far.
-
Meh, doesn't matter that much, anyone with even a dash of cynicism knew there'd be some drawback to the PS4, Hell, there's probably more issues they haven't admitted to yet, but at least now we can make slightly more accurate comparisons and buying decisions.
-
1 AntwortenIsn't this unconfirmed as of right now?
-
1 AntwortenUnconfirmed. " the witness " ps4 game uses 5 gigs of ram. So that rumor most likely is false.
-
3 AntwortenI cannot honestly say I remember hearing about any claims on the OS usage of RAM from either Microsoft or Sony, but I honestly don't see games hitting RAM usage high enough to make a difference. And even if they do, the lack of RAM is not going to be the main issue, but managing that memory. I think Skyrim with mods is about the only game I've played that has gone over 4GB of RAM usage, and that's heavily modded. Of course, if they're using this RAM as if it were VRAM, then sure, the more the better for higher texture resolutions, but I don't believe either consoles are going to push that, and the only game I've played that actually used 4GB of VRAM was Max Payne 3.
-
3 AntwortenOn a scale of 1 -10 how big of a deal is this? I'm used to people freaking out about specs all the time so im not sure how crucial this is.
-
7 AntwortenAlso, I like how now PS fanboys are saying that Sony never confirmed it was only 1GB for OS. But three weeks ago, that was a big arguing point for the fanboys. That they have only 1 GB for OS and more RAM than the X1. Tisk tisk, this is why you shouldn't be a fanboy.
-
I have no idea what any of that means... :s
-
6 AntwortenAnd here comes all the PS fanboys saying how it doesn't matter "We have GDDR5, suck it Xbox none" Yea, but seriously, is this true? Iv never heard of this source before.
-
And people have been shiting on MS for doing this Lol. I hope they feel like shit now. They are both still powerful machines.
-
1 AntwortenReally guys all that matters is games. Whichever one you think has the better exclusives (because third part support will be exactly similar) then get that system. I still think Halo is one of the greatest franchises ever, so I'll be sticking with Xbox.
-
The PS4 bubble had to pop some time.
-
5 AntwortenWell, I can pick up an Xbox One through work for £388, so I think I know which console I'll be getting (clue: it's the One I was already going to get). The PS4 still seems interesting to me though, but every day I see less of a point in me buying it, based on my needs.
-
Hmmm... What does this mean? I mean the way I see it 3 gb of RAM is better? Just playing Devils Advocate here lol
-
Bearbeitet von TheKreaytoSongra: 7/26/2013 6:06:55 PMI need a link to where, from anyone from Sony, the allocation of the Memory has been mentioned. Without that It seems to be about right there with the Xbox One, if not better actually.
-
Actually Sony fanboys assumed that it was 1GB. Sony never confirmed it. Oh, and 1GB out of that 3.5 is 'flexible' RAM, meaning that if the OS needs that 1GB (maybe for background downloads) it'll use it. Or developers can disable that feature in their game and use that 1GB. So in reality it's 2.5 GB actually reserved, (can't be used by anything other than OS, period.) and 1GB extra automatically for OS, but can be taken back and used for games. We probably won't see devs doing that until the end of PS4's lifetime, tho.
-
1 AntwortenI wonder what else they lied about. I knew something was fishy about them. The PS4 seemed like a saint compared to X1.
-
Bearbeitet von JOSH55886: 7/26/2013 5:35:34 PMThis isn't confirmed yet. And I looked it up. Sony actually never said that. It's said a developer said that though. In Sony's case, at least, there's some hope that this allocation could change in the future, with "sources close to Sony" suggesting the OS could take up less RAM with future streamlining updates. On the Xbox One, on the other hand, Microsoft has reportedly carved out 3GB as a strict, inflexible OS allocation "in order to allow the background platform to evolve over a ten-year life-cycle." In other words, Microsoft is basically saying, "Sorry, Xbox One game developers. You can't use that RAM because we might need it for something later." Eiether way, it doesn't matter. 0.5 is not much of a difference, especially if you compared DDR3 to GDDR5. So they should be pretty equal now...
-
I lol'd pretty hard.
-
1 AntwortenLiars Actually I have no clue what I'm talking about, so what exactly does this mean?
-
7 AntwortenSony never said anything, it was just the retards up in journalist land speculating.
