Are they doing this for Destiny because I keep hearing about it. Will we really be able to destroy our surroundings to get to our enemies? Just a question.

2 AntwortenThis has already been confirmed. They said they've not got it at the moment, as it is not their focus. But within the next few years of destiny it will certainly be a feature.

After one day all that would be left would be rubble.

1 AntwortenI don't think that it would be a very good fit for the game. A lot of those surfaces are far too sculptured and unique to apply a generic "This is how this should crumble when you shoot a rocket at it." algorithm. Sure, there can be a few destructable elements like windows or explosive barrels or certain kinds of cover, but I just really don't see players blowing holes through random walls as you fight to take back the Solar System.
-
In my opinion that would probably be to much for the xbox one or for that matter a good gaming PC to handle. The amount of time bungie would have to take coding player environment alteration into the game would be monumental since destiny is an open world (solar system) game. Would it be amazing? Yes. Is it gonna happen? Probably not:(

I dont think it will fit the type of game they are creating. But maybe rocks or the ecosysteam reacting to your actions will be more welcome.

Bearbeitet von TotallyNotDrazil: 10/2/2013 3:09:11 PMI'm not in with tha. Maybe if it's pretty small-scale destruction but nothing close to the frostbite engine, it ruins the environement if you ask me, though I don't think the AI would really have a problem with that.

I think minor destruction would be interesting, but in an open and might I add "shared" world, you dont want everyone demolishing things. If you could shoot through certain cover, blow out windows, bend metal, and burn/melt certain things in the environment then that might be interesting. Battlefield tree: completely take it down. What Im saying tree: catch it on fire and scorch it up a little, burn off the leaves.

It's not that they can't, it's just that they won't. We've seen upcoming titles like Battlefield 4 break down more than just walls, but would you really want another player blocking your path by blowing everything up? It would be horrible to have when we will be throwing explosives and blowing things up with magic. You'd bring the area down on yourself.
-
2 AntwortenNo doubt next-gen consoles could run that, but current-gen can't, and bungie has stated that the experience on current or next gen will be the same, save for some graphics improvements. Destructible environments add a new way to interact with your surroundings and I don't think Destiny will have them. But who knows.... Destiny 2?

5 AntwortenYes have you not watched the demo or read anything about the game!
-
5 AntwortenI don't think that an mmo game could really do that. The first people to get to an area would just destroy it and there would be no structures left. Destiny already kinda has environments that are destroyed.
-
That would be great, but I'd be concerned with the connection. It seems like Destiny has a lot of focus on co-op play. How much would a destructible environment risk making connections iffy? I'd much rather have smooth play. Is it possible to have this feature automatically toggle on and off based on the connection at the time?

1 AntwortenI think it would be nice to have Some stuff to blow up, but not too much, because at the end of a battlefield 3 match, everything is leveled and everything is open and it sucks.
-
I think that there should be some destroyable stuff. Not so much as like taking down an entire building like Battlefield, but close to it. Still haven't decided if I would like it to reset or to stay destroyed though.
-
It would be cool, but within a week the entire world will be leveled by all the players blowing shit up.
-
Interesting concept. If you look at the public event gameplay in old Russia you'll notice one of the launch towers is destroyed when the fallen drop ship warps in... I wonder if that tower will remain destroyed whenever we return to the area...?
-
I say yes but you can't destroy tree's I hope. I like that there indestructible I like that.
-
Are you crazy? With all the weapons in the game... it's Destiny, not Fallout.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Ace 237: 9/25/2013 7:11:32 PMI think it would be cool to have some destructibility in multiplayer, but I don't know about single. Like a bunch of people have already mentioned, the MMO-ness makes it so that everyone has to see the same thing. The problems come when the environment gets destroyed and another group of people wanders through before it resets (which is another problem that could distract people and let them see under the hood of the game. It's jarring to see things pop into existence like that, it makes it so the world doesn't really feel 'alive'). Back to the reset thing, if the area is already leveled before a group gets there it completely changes the way an encounter will play out. They painstakingly set up these environments to create a specific type of gameplay experience, I doubt they want to mitigate all that work by introducing destructibility.

Maybe a slight amount of that in the public events similar to the subtle amount in COD Ghosts so far to make it more interesting. Just my 2 cents.
