I love xbox's tv feature and its cool PS is getting it also. I doubt I'll use them much but it is a nice thing to have.
-
Curious how this will work. Seperate subscription or will it be included with PS+ and what type of content will be available. Is Sony going to produce their own content.
-
5 AntwortenPS fanboys: "HAHA the xbox one sucks it's nothing but TV" "Oh cool the playstation gets TV! that's awesome!" ...
-
What is it?
-
43 AntwortenI suppose all PS fanboys are going to be okay with this since it's Sony.
-
I'd like to take a second to point out a key difference in the actual feature set btw. Xbox has a voice controlled guide through which you need to plug in your cable box; and managed to make that the focus of their console reveal. Playstation TV will most likely have something to do with you know; Sony's TV shows? Not a over-glorified TV Guide.
-
Yet it wasn't advertised like the freaking Dali Llama. Sony knows most consumers for Play Station are gamers so they showed them stuff that they would like. MS focused on everybody and their mom and look what happened to them; they got petitioned by people who didn't want DRM, got backlash for not showing games the first time, removed DRM to appease consumers while pro-DRM people (wow) got mad for that, and that a good number of 360 fans are switching to PS4.
-
6 AntwortenIt still doesn't hook to your TV dumbass...
-
2 Antwortenwith no HDMI in? Nope
-
hmm...interesting
-
I was never upset about either consoles policies or features. Yay for not caring, and buying both consoles because I want to get in on all the exclusives!
-
So the fuk what?
-
Oh noez something non-gaming related on my gaming console! I can still play games the same way as before but I'm going to bitch bout it for ages.
-
Do you guys realize how many patents have been filed but never came to be? I could care less what the PS offers in the TV department as long as it has good games, which so far it does. And what's this about their conference being bad? I thought it was the best. Microsoft had a good one with awful sections in between good things. How they slaughtered Sony in the games department, I have no idea where you get that from. I'll never forget Microsoft's conference last year, or the year before maybe. It was awful, literally, Kinect for 2 hours...
-
2 AntwortenLet's see...but Sony didn't reveal the console by talking about TV, Sports, and Yoga. its all in presentation. It was never really about the actual addition of the feature it was just that MS decided to put the TV feature on the spotlight instead of the games. This article isn't the spotlight...
-
5 AntwortenIf they actually do this, this time. Que all the Sony people saying this is good, yet they complained about the X1.
-
8 AntwortenWhen people realize Sony is more than just a Games Studio. When people realize they have TV studios. When people realize the problem was the message and presentation.
-
And now all the people who bitched at the Xbox for having TV capabilities will now praise Sony for including them.
-
22 AntwortenSee, this is okay. The problem with the X1 wasn't that it could do television, but that M$ chose to put the emphasis on that. Instead of games, the focus was on a shitty feature that won't amount to anything more than "Well you won't have to change inputs as much I guess". It's not like it acts as a new cable box, it just lets you watch your TV through it. Sony isn't making a big deal out of this, either because they learned from M$ mistake or they just don't see it as more important than the actual games (probably both). People don't care that it CAN do it, really, so much as they care that M$ made a huge deal out of it. In fact I don't see how this reflects negatively on Sony at all, it's just one less thing M$ has over Sony. Although I doubt anyone really gave a shit about changing Inputs anyway.

So basicly a PS4 is an xbox one that costs less? Good.
-
Xbox One has this too and yes the Wii U have TVii (try pronouncing that one mother-blam!-ers!)

Bearbeitet von An Eagle Flying A Blimp: 7/9/2013 2:27:51 PMThe difference between Microsoft and Sony and their TV/cablebox functions thus far: How we found out: Microsoft: Welcome to our GREAT press event! Now let us show you the future of gaming! Xbox 1, do random things! Now watch TV! Internet... TV! *audience stands there with mouths hanging open* Sony: Well, Microsoft fixed their DRM policies. Maybe we should do something... Slip a TV app in there! Quick, while most people aren't looking!

Bearbeitet von Lord Zedd: 7/9/2013 2:23:13 PMI don't see why this is a bad thing. It still plays games so shut up.
-
Nah they are Sony people are going to let it slide as usual
-
It is now no longer a gaming console, it's the CableStation 4.
