Personally I think the name "glimmer" for money is kind of lame, but other than that loving the game. agree ? disagree?
Dont make a big deal out of it guys. its just a simple yes,no,maybe poll.

Glimmer is made up of 7 letters.... probably not going to change.
-
I'm just going to call it "munny" anyway.

Bearbeitet von Navaha42: 7/8/2013 12:56:14 AMI hope they keep the name "Glimmer" just because it'll drive away all the ULTRA-MASCULINE DUDEBROS who feel that collecting Glimmer attacks their masculinity. It'll make the Destiny community a better place.

I dont really care I've played games with currency that sounded stranger than glimmer. It has never effected my opinion of the game. The only thing i look for in a game is how fun it is
-
I thought that sounded pretty coool
-
5 AntwortenI thought the glimmer were to be an enemy faction?
-
I don't really care, glimmer is fine with me
-
But the real question can I be the Glimmer man and have Keenan Ivory Wayans as my side kick
-
It's to make it pop more to your eye so you don't leave it. Most games with loot have some way of making it stand out from the environment and I would have left so many good guns laying around in borderlands had that feature not been there
-
At least it's not BeDazzle!
-
3 AntwortenWell I mean Fallout uses bottlecaps...I'm sure glimmer will catch on and it will be a cool term.
-
4 AntwortenCheer up, it could've been Blingz™
-
2 AntwortenI voted to keep the name glimmer because I appreciate the originality of the name. It hints at it being the glimmer of hope for humanity, a rare and mystical element that is used by guardians to fuel the resurrection of humanity.
-
6 AntwortenThe name glimmer has 7 letters in it, your point is invalid.
-
It could be soooooo much worse. I kind of like it for its simplicity. If they work it into the fiction of the world well, it sounds like a word that would catch on.
-
I don't know, I think "glimmer" sounds nice.
-
Should've been rhinestones
-
1 AntwortenWhat were you hoping for? Legendary esteemed coins of zarkanoc?
-
15 AntwortenAt least it's not "Credits" or "Bucks"
-
I don't know, I kinda like glimmer. It's new and different from most currency names. That and it is blue, I mean what's not to like about blue space gold?
-
3 AntwortenI'm gonna end up calling it space-gold no matter what the official name is anyways.
-
1 Antwortenwell i thought it was the name of the 5th species but many flamed me down. http://www.bungie.net/7_Glimmer/en-us/Forum/Post?id=60990479#referred-Destiny
-
Maybe it should be renamed...something like....shimmer
-
In game it will probably be abbreviated as "G" which makes it seem more like gold
glim·mer (glmr) n. 1. A dim or intermittent flicker or flash of light. 2. A faint manifestation or indication; a trace: a glimmer of understanding. intr.v. glim·mered, glim·mer·ing, glim·mers 1. To emit a dim, intermittent light: "The ocean glimmered on her left like an iridescent pewter bowl" (Elizabeth Adler). See Synonyms at flash. 2. To be reflected in dim, intermittent flashes: "Starlight glimmered on rusty metal" (David Drake). 3. To appear faintly or indistinctly: Hope still glimmered in our minds. [Middle English glimeren, to glitter, glimmer; see ghel-2 in Indo-European roots.]
While I think the name is kind of cheesy I do think its use as a currency in Destiny kind of fits the definitions of the word. It's a blue square that has a soft glow to it and it will probably be an item, or trace, of the golden age.

I like glimmer, it's something different.
