Doctors have a functional role in society. Without athletes, nothing would change. Without doctors, we'd be fucked.
-
That doesn't have anything to do with salary.
-
Why should someone with an ability that is not important to society be paid more than someone with one that is?
-
Its not important to society? Sports are one of the most popular forms of entertainment. Sports leagues take in tons more revenue. Its also alot harder to become a professional athlete than a doctor.
-
You seem to think that revenue and popularity = importance
-
I do? I never said that. However, revenue and popularity = higher salary.
-
Ok, as long as your agree that doctors are more important than athletes.
-
Yes but they dont deserve more pay.
-
I'm confused. You think doctors are more important, but shouldn't be paid more than someone less important than them?
-
They are more beneficial to society yes. But its much harder to become a pro athlete than to become a doctor. Which is why I referenced supply and demand in my OP.
