Doctors have a functional role in society. Without athletes, nothing would change. Without doctors, we'd be fucked.

Its not important to society? Sports are one of the most popular forms of entertainment. Sports leagues take in tons more revenue. Its also alot harder to become a professional athlete than a doctor.

They are more beneficial to society yes. But its much harder to become a pro athlete than to become a doctor. Which is why I referenced supply and demand in my OP.
