Swords in Destiny? [CONFIRMED]

Now that swords have been confirmed (a lot ago XD ) I would like to ask you something:
Maybe they're just melee weapons such as the Hunter Knife, but will we be able to have custom swords?
If you want to have a custom sword in Destiny, please, describe yours so we all know what others like.
Mine would be a katana type sword. The handle would be purpura. I will call it [i]Purpura[/i]

Shinsen ketsuki- fresh blood it'll be a one handed katana with a strength augmentation when i feed it my own blood or that of my enemy. This would be for my hunter or my awoken.

I think it'd be really awesome if you could choose to done the sword's scabbard. That could be really cool instead of pulling the sword from out of no where. I hope you can choose how you hold the sword too because wielding a katana like one wields a long sword would look very stupid.

Swords are like my favorite weapon, I would want to have a versatile weapon so that I can grip it differently that supports speed as a hunter. Also a sword that also shoots projectiles.

Swords would just complete my look. A broadsword for my Titan. Cutlass for my warlock. A katana for my hunter.
