How do you spot a "fake gamer?"
I see a lot of gamers on YouTube these days. I am a YouTube partner remember guys.
And the gaming videos are all over the place now...unfortunately it's kind of saturated. Still, I consider myself a real gamer, so I can spot who is uploading videos and doesn't enjoy it, versus people who upload and love playing games.
Someone like MLG Bravo, that's a real gamer to me. I followed him for a while. Awesome guy who always has awesome content!!
Someone who isn't really a gamer to me, would be like.... iJustine playing Call of Duty. Just seems kind of fake to me haha. I still think she's funny, just not really a gamer.
And don't get me started on the millions of people uploading Minecraft videos....

The Halo 2 map? The one with the train?" A casual will call the Banshee a Ghost and the Ghost a Banshee. I know this might sound sexist but the only people I consider "fake gamers" are girls on CoD just because their boyfriend plays. They don't really want to play they just get on to hang out with their boyfriends so they can be considered "cool gamer chicks" among their boyfriend and his friends. Other than girls that are just playing because of boyfriends I don't really see anyone else as being "fake gamers". That includes people that only play those terrible CoD games or UNO on XBLA. If you play and you're enjoying the game you're a gamer. BTW OP Bravo is an employee at 343 now. I figured I would just point that out in-case you weren't aware. His channel was one of the only channels I kept up with. It was sad to see him stop making videos but I guess it was worth it considering he's trying to save Halo. :)

2 AntwortenAnybody who thinks that playing any one he qualifies a person for/against gamer status Personally, I am a dedicated gamer, yet depending on the game I am anything from a casual, to a hard core. Also those who think you must have every game ever, or else you are not a "true gamer" To them I say get over your selves.

Simple. I lock them in a dark room which they are gagged and handcuffed to a chair. Then over the speakers I have Hot Problems on a loop. If they want it to stop they have to admit they are a fake gamer.

Im starting a youtube channel and I hope I don't come off as one of those people.. But maybe people who like the features in games that most of us don't like come off as casual gamers in my eyes.

But I understand and agree with you on this point. I feel like iJustine just does it for the views or she just feels like this is what people want to watch, but she isn't REALLY enjoying playing the games, she just does it for the audience. I just got partnered on YouTube too, I have been a bit distracted for college so I don't upload as much as I want to, but I still upload at least 6 times a week. I want to be able to upload 4 videos a day, but I'm limited to about 1 or 2 a day because of time. I caved in and decided to start a minecraft series because of all the requests. But anyway, gamers I like to watch are SSoHPKC, UberHaxorNova, TobyGames (only every once in a while, he can be a little too much sometimes), penguinz0(definitely in my top 5). I can't really think of a whole lot. But I used to really be into listening to commentaries where people talk about their lives or issues etc, sort of like a vlog but over CoD gameplay. (BlameTruth, shaun0728, xJawz) These youtubers have inspired me to create a channel where I do Let's Plays of games I enjoy, sometimes I play them cooperatively with my girlfriend (Dead Space 3, Minecraft), and every once in a while, probably once or twice a week, I upload a commentary about something I just feel like talking about, over some Call of Duty, Halo, or Gears multiplayer gameplay. Now that I think about it, I put quite a lot of time into my channel, and yeah sometimes I feel like it's pointless to put THIS much work into a YouTube channel just for fun because I only have like 603 subs and I get like 1 or 2 a day, but I actually really enjoy playing games and editing videos so for me it's all worth it. Even if nobody's watching.

4 AntwortenGamer, because of youtube channel or strictly competitive =/= GAMER A gamer is anyone who plays games either as a past time or hobby, casually or competitively. A FAKE gamer would be your Mom when she plays a party game just to fit in with you for 10 minutes.
