Let us, for the sake of argument, pretend that global warming doesn't exist. It's not a thing.
Even if it isn't real, what's the problem with treating our planet with some more respect and pollute it less?

I just want to drive what I want. Gas guzzler or prius. It does not matter. Treat everybody the same regardless of what they drive.

That's what bugs me about people who push against the idea of global warming, or the green movement in general. I don't know what's so offensive about leaving a cleaner mark where you live. Going with your hypothetical situation, and global warming wasn't an issue at all, we'd still need to think about how we get rid of our trash. It doesn't just disappear when you throw it away. Same goes with all pollutants.
