Sure it's a loose question, but I needed an excuse to play with the Question feature.

Jason Jones said it best:
Everything that's fun to do alone, is more fun to do with your friends.
Some of us don't have those connection options available in our local area. Some of us live rurally, where finding another person with which to share your gaming experiences can be difficult. People also enjoy many different types of games. Maybe you love Halo, while that kid down the block is a hardcore Command and Conquer fan. Finding that common niche can be difficult. That's why we're here. We've been brought together by our love of Bungie's imaginative storytelling, solid gameplay, and tongue-in-cheek humor. That common purpose unites us and sends us starside. Since my return from hiatus in January, I've met dozens of dedicated, passionate, and creative souls. And that's just the tip of the iceburg. Destiny's coming. Be brave.

Bearbeitet von yo momy hafu: 3/23/2013 5:36:00 AMThere are so many functions of a gamer community it's so hard to pinpoint the most important function. So I'm going to just say this, as long as controversy among the games in a gamer community are not splitting A community into two sides I find them extremely enjoyable. Story endings and unfair advantages in competitive play are usually the topic that fuel these community splits. Examples: Mass effect 3 ending, Juggernaut in Call Of Duty, armor lock in halo reach, Camping in most shooters, "Noob tube" in Call of Duty, Bailout finish in Trials evolution, Rushing in Halo Wars, Button mashing in fighting games.

I would say gameplay (of course) but I've gotten addicted to games with terrible gameplay probably because my friends played it too.

It functions as the meeting place for video game enthusiasts everywhere, since most of us in the real world live far apart.

ALL the friends!

Lame jokes
-
For communication, competition, and support.

The forums are the most important part of the gaming community. In the last mailsack you talked about how the new site won't be complete until the aspects that link to Destiny are revealed, but those features while cool aren't lasting. With each new game Bungie has released new features and integration, stat tracking, file shares, etc. But do you know what happens a couple of years after those features are integrated? A new game comes out, and those features are never used again. Do you know what is going to stick around? The structures that the community uses to interact, the forums, private groups, and the features that are part of that. Just food for thought.

Bearbeitet von Prototape: 3/21/2013 8:02:07 PMIn terms of the Bungie community? Toast. It sounds weird, yes, but let me explain please: t - 20 o - 15 a - 1 s - 19 t - 20 1/2 20 = O, which equals 15 15 / 2 = 7 7 = The Seventh Column 15 + 1 = 16. 16 = P P = Prosperous A = 1 1 = You S = Sad, T = trouble When we lose our beloved community members, it is cause for sad and troubled times. 19 - 20 = - 1 From this, we can gather that The Seventh Column is only as prosperous as yourself. When you act in a manor which benefits others, the community thrives as well as yourself. The well being of the community is what's most important, when people lose sight of that, we lose members which makes us sad. 19*20 = 380 380 * 15 = 5700 5700 * 20 = 114000 114000 / 15 = 7600 19*15 = 285 285 * 19 = 5415 7600 - 5415 = 2185 2185 * 15 = 32775 32775 / 19 = 1725 17 + 25 = 42 (Ding ding ding) 42 * 20 = 840 840 + 380 = 1220 1220 + 1725 = 2945 7600 - 2945 = 4655 4665 / 7 = 666.42 (Yikes, looks like we took a wrong turn here, or did we?) 666.42-.42 = 666 666 * 15 = 9990 9990 - 9000 = 990 990 + 1 = 991 991 + 1000 = 1991, year Bungie was founded. Toast is everything to the Bungie Community. Without it, there would be nothing.
