Ever since Bungie.Next hit, the Halo portion of our Community has taken a substantial hit. Community members are leaving. Aside from a few people showing up from the Playstation Event, it seems we've reached peak Darkness effect. I don't mean actual Darkness, just the effect of it. Take a look around the forums, this is the core of the community. Be happy with these people and the good times that are had here. Soon we'll be flooded with even more new members as word of Destiny spreads. Halo-era members will dwindle even more as time progress'. This seems like it's about the last chance a lot of us will get to see a Halo-dominated Community, I might as well point it out. Lets just stop and remember that period of the community for a moment.
Share your best times and defining moments of the community down in the comments.

4 AntwortenI wish I had actually started posting when I joined. I only started properly on the eve of the Beta.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Gunny 186: 2/26/2013 4:56:42 AMI would hardly be considered a gem but.. i degress. The sole reason i originally came here was because of Halo. Halo CE through Halo Reach. because of this i have become not just a Halo fan, but a Bungie fan. To me the imersive story of Halo and the Chief will never be forgotten, ever. What Bungie did with Halo was nothing less than inspirational on a grand scale. Superior story, exceptional graphics and groundbreaking gameplay, genre defining would be a large scale understatement. If you have followed Bungie for any length of time you would know that they did what they set out to do. which was to redefine FPS gameplay and essentially change the game industry standards. Bungie did this. With Destiny, Bungie is going to redefine gameplay again. in my opinion, i think they will succeed and on a grand scale, again. Something that often occupies my thoughts though, is if Destiny's story and main Protagonist (us) will be as deep and rich as Halo. we shall see.....

1 AntwortenA substantial decline in users is anything but good.

25 AntwortenNice thread. Now is a great time to follow the people you'll want to keep track of later.

5 AntwortenI miss the Reach forum. They got so mad over the smallest of things. Remember that giant AFK ban thing lol.

1 AntwortenNothing remains the same forever. Even fun things and happy things, nothing. Nothing stays unchanged forever. Even so, can you still like this place?

Aye, I never stayed for Halo. I stayed for the discussions. Now that they're difficult to follow and my posts feel unimportant, I have no reason to stay. Plus, the only group I was really active in has an IRC, so I can just hang there and still get to chat with my buddies. I've made my friends. I've had my good times. I'll still try to post, but it sure won't be the same as it was. B.net has changed, and IMO, it's for the far worse.

1 AntwortenI'm just now starting to get the hang of the new system. Enjoying the new features and having conversations with people that I don't normally chat with. I haven't ever been very active(posting) in the community, but love reading what everyone has to say. Well, almost everyone. It does seem very quite around here, but it is a good time to brush up on the features of the site. I'm looking forward to the new blood. As for my shining moment, although very miner, was making it into a mail sack. Don't remember what it was about, i think that I had something in the rapid fire. Or maybe it was when they got to ask us questions. Either way, it was me getting involved, and it kinda felt good.

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von Blam417: 2/25/2013 10:56:45 PMI remember when i was in high school I would always hang out in the Flood forums and read the Community vs. forum moderator fan fictions. (think lots of fight scenes with well known moderators swinging around ban hammers.) p.s. I miss the member categories. My posts don't stick out as much anymore. :(

I have been coming to Bnet since 2004, but didnt officially join until 2007 (gamertag link) and I mostly just sat back and watched threads develop either into awesomeness or ugly cat fights... the Darkness got me participating alittle more, especially once DeeJ became community leader (nothing against Urk, but DeeJ is more fun). Hopefully I can just build from there and become someone the "new" community members look up to and the "regulars" can respect.

2 AntwortenIve just recently joined the Bungie community, but ive been a player since Halo 2,so i guess you could say im strictly from the Halo community. Man those were the days, the dawning of refined, exciting multiplayer. The hunt for that 44 moon to appear next to your name...so good. But i will say,im excited to be back in bungies shadow again. I went dark myself after Halo 3,so the fact that Bungie can actually get an old school Halo player excited again after so long, its an enticing thought...cant wait to see what they have in store for Destiny

1 AntwortenWhat if... the people don't come? OR they're just put off with this nonsensical layout and don't even bother posting?

If you're out there, I just wanted to say hey! Thanks for helping out with that group even though it failed horribly. EDIT: Wow, bold is really bold now.

I joined towards the end of the Halo-era, but technically I was still there. Young, but there. Glad I'm still here.
